Anyone else done with Sportsline after this year?

Fully agree. This is my second year as commissioner on RTSports and I'm 100% satisfied with it. Wouldn't even consider moving elsewhere.

    Da Bears skill positions

I dunno... Rex threw for, what, 35 yards total last week against the next to worst pass defense in the league? I wouldn't expect huge numbers out of anyone catching the ball from him tonight. Of course, it all depends on how early Lovie decides to put Griese in...

Anybody Else need Holt to $uck Tonight

Worse - I need Holt and Bulger to combine for less than 38 points in a PPR. Go, Chicago D, go...

do you think i need another running back

Drop Gore and Maroney and pick up Foster and McAllister, then. You'll be better off. Those are some wacky rules, though; what kind of a league puts that heavy a restriction on WW pickups and disallows trading? You may as well just freeze rosters after the draft...

    Fast Willie seeing goal-line work

He'd definitely be a second-round steal if he can hold off Staley and Haynes...

    Is Warner a Keeper

The only one I'd even consider out of that group is Matt Jones, and AntSports has him going in the 10th round, so you'll probably be better off just taking the pick. You can do better than Warner and Roethlisberger in the 7th round (Warner may not even finish out the season, and Big Ben doesn't throw enough, plus I don't particularly like the reports out of camp that he's having stamina and durability issues following his accident). Kennison's out because the KC passing game's going to suck this year, between Willie Roaf retiring, Trent Green starting to lose a step, and Herm Edwards being as conservative as he is. And it's too hard to say how much Curtis is going to see the ball to spend that high of a pick on him.

    Keeper Help

I'd say you probably need to keep one RB or the other, because if most people keep two RBs and you have to let 8 more picks go by, it could be slim pickins by the time you get to pick an RB. Normally I'd say DD over Jones, but that knee still has me very nervous. Jones is supposed to be the every-down back in Detroit this year, and all the reports from Lions camp have been encouraging. Besides, any RB who's not likely to split carries has quite a bit of value, provided that he can stay healthy. I like DD's upside better, but there's a lot of risk to go along with that upside, so I'd be nervous about keeping him. Good luck!

    4th pick

I think if you don't get PPR, I'd go with Portis. Brandon Jacobs is still a factor at the goal line and Tiki's getting on in years; chances are that he'll probably be fine this season but I'd hate to spend a 1st round pick on an RB to have it be the year he starts breaking down. Portis is clearly the full-time option in Washington and Gibbs loves to pound the rock...

    Keeper Help

I'd hold on to Davis and Holt. You'll probably be able to upgrade from Dunn, especially because he's getting on in years, and CJ's probably going to be too much of a question mark with Palmer recovering. Davis is an inury risk, but hopefully they won't have to run him into the ground this yeah, so maybe he'll stay healthy longer, and Holt's always been very consistent.

    Trade help needed

Do it. DDavis may be 25, but he's a constant injury risk, and it sounds like he's not recovering well from knee surgery. Meanwhile, Tiki's been a rock the last couple of seasons, and you'll still have Walker to replace Moss. I think that trade definitely helps your team.

    Who Should I Drop? (Revisited)

What about Pinkston? He's been a disappointment every year, he's slipping down the depth chart in Philly, and he's coming off an injury that kept him off the field last year. I know you don't want to get rid of any WRs, but I doubt you'd miss him, right? He hasn't broken out in the four years that he's gotten to start, and three of those years were pre-T.O. I dont see why he'd start now...

Best Way To Carry An Ipod?

Just got a good silicone case (like the ones that iSkin makes) and throw it in your pocket. That's pretty much the easiest way to deal with it; otherwise, it'll scratch if you look at it funny...

    Keeper League

I don't see why there should be any problem with it. I mean, it's no different than if neither of you made the finals and executed a trade during Week 16, unless your league has a rule against transactions once you're eliminated from the playoffs...

    T. Jones Reporting

They used Perry primarily on passing downs until he got hurt. And he got around 10 touches/game until he got hurt; that's not exactly rotting on the bench. But yeah, I see your point.

    T. Jones Reporting

At the time, sure, that was what Smith though, but then why not start easing Benson in last season, even despite the holdout? I mean, they beat Minnesota 28-3 in Week 6; why not start giving the kid the ball then? He only got 3 carries in that game. I think that Benson may have been on the fast track to start last season before he held out and when Jones wasn't living up to his potential, but I don't see how you could take a guy who performed as well as Jones did last season and leave him on the bench without a significant drop in performance...

    T. Jones Reporting

I don't see how it could end up as anything other than RBBC, honestly, unless one of them gets hurt. I mean, Jones is only 27 and he clearly performed to expectations last season; Benson hasn't proven anything yet, because he got himself injured in the one game where he legitimately had a chance to take the job away from Jones. But, on the other hand, they didn't spend a 1st round pick on Benson to let him rot on the bench for another year. If Benson behaves himself in training camp this year (which is to say that he shows up) and they're both healthy, why wouldn't Lovie Smith use both of them?

    Small Palmer update

I think one thing to consider is that there's a big difference between being on the field for opening day and being the 2005 Carson Palmer. Even if he's going to be healthy enough to play, I think I'd still let someone else draft him; I don't think he's going to be nearly as effective as he was. It takes a long time to be able to regain the strength in the knee after a ligament tear, especially one as bad as he suffered. I have a feeling that he's going to be drafted too high and his owners are going to be awfully disappointed...

Ron Dayne Listed Atop Denver's Depth Chart...

I ended up having to trade for Anderson in desperation around week 10 last season, because I got hit by a bunch of injuries at once. He was good for a couple of weeks, and then I got burned by him a couple of times (including Thanksgiving) where, for whatever reason, he just didn't get the carries, and then he sat on my bench for the rest of the season. Looking at the guys who are going in the 3rd or 4th round, I'd much rather take someone like Chester Taylor or Warrick Dunn who's at least got some guarantee of production. In the 7th round, sure, that's a no-brainer; I'd be happy to take a flyer on whichever one of those guys is considered the backup at that point. But I think Bell or Dayne is too risky to spend anything above, say, a 6th round pick.

Ron Dayne Listed Atop Denver's Depth Chart...

Yeah, but the problem is which one, and on what given week? I might draft one or the other and stash them on my bench, but unless one of those guys got injured or ended up in Shanahan's oghouse (which is unlikely), then I don't think there would ever be a situation where I'd feel comfortable plugging either one into my lineup on any given week, because it's almost like Russian Roulette. And if you're not ever going to feel comfortable starting a guy who you'd have to draft in the 2nd or 3rd round, why waste a draft pick on him?

    SUPER BOWL WINNER STIFFED!

Yeah, there's no excuse for that. The money getting stolen is his problem, not yours. Heck, i played in and won a league two years ago where only three of us ended up paying in; we didn't decide until halfway through the season that there would be a prize, and for one reason or another, most of the guys just never put in their money. The commish still paid me the full prize out of his pocked, even though I told him he didn't have to. (Granted, it was only $50, but it's the principle that matters.) If worse comes to worst, you could probably take the guy to small claims court to get the money. But I agree that he definitely shouldn't be allowed back in the league and definitely shouldn't be allowed to take any fees or anything like that if you do let him back in. That's absolutely unacceptable, and it's borderline theft...
