  1. "There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. There is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don't want the patient to get well." Booker T. Washington

    indiana law

That's fair. The bible has been abused by many "Christians" to do and say some horrid stuff. WBC comes to mind. It's extremely unfortunate and leaves many with the wrong impression.

Nowhere does the bible state that. Israel was directed not to marry those outside their faith. Out of Deuteronomy 7 The bible never advocates racism being discussed here. The Lord did not want his people marrying those who worshiped other gods. Many Christian churches keep to that tradition. The church doesn't care what your wife/husband is provided he/she shares the faith. today.

You're cherry picking what you wish to hear. By no means are Christians bound to do morally wrong things. The state cannot force you to change your moral position; the state cannot force you to steal; the state cannot force you to worship anything other than God. The early church defied authority from day one. Acts 5:29 The early church refused emperor worship for example. By your logic, there would never have been an American revolution either. Quiet a few protestants involved in that. Yet they went on to defy England.

Presbyterian Church (USA) Changes Its Constitution

Not sure where that came from. PCUSA has been heading down this path for some time. If they permitted gay pastors, there is no reason to no have gay marriages. Guess that means you'll be going to a Catholic church now?

Presbyterian Church (USA) Changes Its Constitution

Not surprising. PCUSA has been left of center for some time. Back in 2010 (or 2011?), they were ok with gay pastors. So gay marriage was just a matter of time with them.

    Jeb Bush for president...

Unfortunately, that isn't what the nice guys said. And he was right. A large number of people collecting entitlements will keep voting for them.

Obama to hold 3 White House meetings today on Ferguson.

That sounds like the James Boyd Shooting. There is a video out there on it but it didn't seem right to post it. Looks to me that the cops were way overboard. You make a great point on this. Unfortunately, race sells. There will never be a real dialogue on the issues which is why this summit is a waste of time. People need to come to terms with the fact that there are serious issues that need to be addressed. Black on black crime, hood mentality and a lack of any parents have created a permanent underclass. It's depressing to see people trapped in that environment. As far as the police dealings with resisting arrest, pumping bullets into people shouldn't be the first option. In this case, sounds like Brown had already gone after a gun and I feel the officer did what he had to. But this Boyd Shooting and issue in NY seem different to me. Don't these guys have tasers?

That was the first time it dipped under the 200 day moving average. Normally, not a great sign. The market is always a crap shoot to predict though.

    Bowe Bergdahl, traitor or patsy?

Qatar allowing freed Taliban men to move freely in country: Gulf official (Reuters) - Qatar has moved five Afghan Taliban prisoners freed in exchange for a U.S. soldier to a residential compound and will let them move freely in the country, a senior Gulf official said on Tuesday, a step likely to be scrutinized by Washington. U.S. officials have referred to the release of the Islamist militants as a transfer and said they would be subject to certain restrictions in Qatar. One of the officials said that would include a minimum one-year ban on them traveling outside of Qatar as well as monitoring of their activities. "All five men received medical checks and they now live with their families in an accommodation facility in Doha," the Gulf source, who declined to be identified, told Reuters. "They can move around freely within the country." Following the deal under which freed the last American soldier held in Afghanistan was freed, concerns have been expressed by some U.S. intelligence officials and congressional advisers over the role of the Gulf Arab state as a bridge between Washington and the world of radical Islam. The Gulf official said the Taliban men, who have been granted Qatari residency permits, will not be treated like prisoners while in Doha and no U.S. officials will be involved in monitoring their movement while in the country. "Under the deal they have to stay in Qatar for a year and then they will be allowed to travel outside the country... They can go back to Afghanistan if they want to," the official said. The five, who had been held at the U.S. Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba since 2002, arrived in Qatar on Sunday where U.S. security personnel handed them over to Qatari authorities in the Al Udeid area west of Doha, site of a U.S. military base. U.S. Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl had been held for nearly five years by Taliban insurgents in Afghanistan and his release followed years of on-off negotiations. A diplomatic source said Qatar has flown in family members of the five released Taliban men and gave them accommodation paid for by the government. On Sunday, Qatari Foreign Minister Khaled al-Attiyah told a news conference that Doha got involved in the case because it was a “humanitarian cause". He did not elaborate. Wow, a whole year before they can leave Qatar. I am sure these guys won't be any trouble at all.

    Civil War II

I've followed that story a little bit. It would be great if some of the major "news" outlets covered this ...Harry Reid, Chinese Company Behind Nevada Ranch Standoff. I have zero trust in most of the federal government and the media. The reality is our government is way out of control. Too much influence over the lives of the citizens. Unfortunately, the masses will just keep pulling levers for the same guys over and over again. I don't see a civil war type of action reoccurring. But I can see more things like this happening and maybe some skirmish type stuff. Inevitably, someone will take a shot at one of these government organizations. You'll probably here more and more talk of secession from certain stats (i.e. Jefferson from Cali or Northern Colorado)

    Geeks with kids

I have 3 (13, 12 and 9) and they do get better and better as time goes by. The age they are in now has always been my favorite. The first couple of years can be tough, but watching your babies learn to crawl, speak their first words, etc are memories that stay with you. I don't miss the diapers or carrying all the baby stuff around, but the rest of it was fun. They get excited for Christmas or just going out somewhere. Everything is new to them and you experience it with them. When they moved to the 5 and 6 range, my boys started playing ball and my daughter began dance. They became a new and improved version of the same kids. Now we played ball together. My daughter and I do a dance every year. You also spend time teaching them or helping with their school. My boys hitting teenage years hasn't be a problem at all. The oldest is noticing girls. My other boy and I talk like friends. If anything, he makes me feel like a 12 year old all over again. Yes, they are a lot of work. You do have to discipline them and you do have to be involved in their lives. But it is well worth it. I've heard come complain about how hard it is to raise kids or their kids are problems. It's really not that tough. Spend a little time with them, teach them and correct them when they make a mistake. It's not rocket science. You'll want to relive every moment while looking forward to the ones to come. MDC, yes, 4 - 5 is fun and look forward to it. But they can be even more fun down the road. And all the while, you still look back fondly on when he was two.

    3 Governmental ideas. Feedback?

As much as I'd love that, the system would fall a part. Everyone knows the money wasn't set aside and those working today are supporting the payments for those collecting. Maybe if you opt out, you'd still have to pay but a lower percentage or something?

Serial Knockout Attacker Arrested in Brooklyn

I believe this is the follow up to your original story ... Brooklyn man arrested, charged in five 'knockout' incidents against women There's a police sketch of the guy there So he's not going to be charge with a hate crime, which sounds like BS to me.

    Top billionaire gainers in 2013

Maybe the wealthy actually earned it? Some of you guys are confusing what someone earns with what they deserve. Not sure how anyone can say someone should only have what they need. A lot of the wealthy earned it through enterprise or investing. Don’t like them, don’t do business with them. Just let the government take people’s money because they don’t need it or I don’t like the way they earned it. Of course screw the guy making $120,000. Not that the $7,000 not subjected to SSI meant anything to them. Let’s just lump them all as rich and screw them too. I get why people feel that way. Not a big fan of exporting jobs or the money in stock market. Some of these guys export decent jobs. And they do that to make money or raise the stock price. Which has become a joke. Do companies like Facebook or Amazon actually make a profit? Basically companies are printing their own money via stock and investors are buying it. Stock built on a currency with a basis on nothing. Sounds brilliant. Valid investing principals were thrown out and stock are bought on “potential” or better known as hype, hope and BS. All the investors care about is the stock price, not how it got there and not what the stock should probably be worth. And it’s hard to totally fault these guys. People who haven’t accomplished a thing think they should come out of college earning $100K. Fewer and fewer in this country actually believe in working their way up. It’s all give it to me now. Trying to get a business going through all the government red tape is a serious PAI. Why exactly should they invest here when it’s a clusterfock to do so? They amazing part of it all is people turn to the same group of asshats who messed it up in the first place, government. Incidentally, they also get pretty good money from the guys on the list. Even more amusing is it’s the big companies who like the red tape to an extent. It’s bound to screw the smaller companies. Are these guys greedy? Yep. So are the politicians they buy. So are the stock speculators, I mean investors, buying overvalued stocks. So are the union leaders who peddle beliefs that flipping burgers is worth $15/hr. So are the American workers with ridiculous earning expectations. So are those who buy a $100 K house a day ago and price it at $150K and the dummies who buy them. Yeah, greed is definitely a problem. It’s everywhere.
  22. yeah Reading is a crap hole. Still, using uniformed officers at tax payers expense to examine someone's rectum is a disgrace. Some people would definitely feel intimidated my being pulled over by a cop and maybe even feel compelled to comply. That's BS and it's nothing sort of abuse of power. They should force Reading police cars to show "To Protect, To Serve and To explore your anus".
  23. Paul Walker dead at 40: Westboro Baptist Church announces picket of late ‘Fast & Furious’ star’s funeral Here's an article on these morons. These people have either never read the bible or totally ignore it. If anyone's going to hell, the members of WBC will lead the way. Their message is contrary to anything Jesus taught and lived. They would serve Him better by shutting their mouths.

  25. From your link. No idea if some countries stack the deck with participants or not. Its no wonder American students aren't topping these test. Parents don't get involved in their kids education. Throwing money into the system isn't going to change a thing.
