He took a plea deal technically. Guilty plea happens at arrainment (sp). After that it's a deal. Also the judge can refuse to accept the deal. They usually don't because they'd rather have the case taken off the docket so it's uncommon for the judge to deny it. Tomorrow the judge needs to state if he accepts the deal then comes victim statements & sentencing. "A plea deal is an agreement where a defendant pleads guilty (or no contest) to a reduced charge or receives a lighter sentence, in exchange for avoiding a trial. A guilty plea, on the other hand, is a defendant's direct admission of guilt to the charges against them, without any negotiated concessions."

Yes, with there being no trial now, we'll never know anything. Sucks for the families, not that they or we would know anything anyway unless he was going to honestly testify under oath. Hopefully they still find peace.
