I don't really care about mooney trying to split hairs about a rating being 6.7 or 6 or whatever. I'm interested because if the NBA is selling broadcast rights for billions or whatever and the wnba is selling them for like 20 million a year, someone got a great deal and I'd probably figure out if that's investable. To be fair, I don't think he's brainwashed. He's a frontline manager. There are some common traits of career frontline managers in the corporate world. First priority at all times is keeping that manager job. This means they can never disagree with the boss and have no real opinions on anything. Their opinion is whatever the boss's opinion is. If the boss's opinion changes, then their opinion changes. They only manage down. A good manager should manage down and up. That means you have to have tough conversations with your boss when they're messing up just like you have to have tough conversations with your subordinates, but they can't ever disagree with their boss, so this is impossible (see trait #1). This usually manifests in crappy goals and a bunch of useless process and box checking for the individual contributors doing work just to satisfy the manager's boss. They'll gaslight you to death. Because the prime directive is keeping their job, they must appear to be in the right at all times. That means even when they mess up, they'll blame anyone they can to make sure they come out looking good even if they have to lie straight to your face about things they know are false. They will also lie about promotions/raises etc. They hate conflict... With their bosses. F anyone else. it's all about bootlicking the folks in charge to keep their job. So what happened with gutter, is his corporation rolled out some dei initiatives so he had to adopt them, but also his real bosses at home I'm sure went woke so he had to go woke. Underneath, he's still the same racist garbage person, but now he just lies to everyone and acts woke. But the problem is people like gutter who are actually racist don't know how to not be racist. DEI and woke and BLM and equity over equality comes along and he's told to comply. That frontline manager mentality kicks in and he has no choice but to just start licking those boots instead of just saying, "wait this is BS." I think I remember you played QB. I bet you are far more capable of judging prospects than the draft pundits. You could do yourself a favor and cut all that out and do your own scouting and likely be better off. The only exposure I get is stuff that leaks through when I'm watching TV or scrolling Twitter or someone links an article. That's what I use to get a general feel for how the public feels since they'll usually listen to what the pundits say, adopt it as a core belief, and then argue it's true until their dying breath for some reason.
