Swimming is already stupid with all the different strokes and differences. It's like "we get it. You can swim fast" we don't need to see you do it backwards and forwards and at 50, 100, 200, etc. Well what is really stupid is speed walking. Who cares if you can walk fast? Someone will just run and beat you. Then they have to like judge what is walking and try to figure out if they ran. Not to mention other events are usually based in some sort of usable skill. Who can throw stuff farther. Who can go faster, who can wrestle better, etc. It's dumb. And we do a lot of dumb stuff out here in my home town of LA, but speed walking shouldn't be one of them when we host the Olympics. Get rid of gymnastics too. Just get rid of speed walking first.

I just wish people would stop saying it's the best. I should clarify and supplement why I have distaste for the phrase. The first person to ever say it... Kudos. It's clever.
