If you are looking for information on a specific product or DIY task, it is a great resource. I just don't go to the main page anymore. The quality went downhill fast. 90% of the most popular subs are moderated by the same 5 people, and they all have an agenda. The political subs are absolute cesspools. And the amount of good posts that people rip off and pass as their own for "upvotes" is just stupid. After a while, it is the same old regurgitated drivel.

I did not vote for him. He had been in hiding since the election, mostly until this little tirade. He has fallen below Mayor Frey (of Mpls) on the politician totem pole for me. Anyone with a sane mind from Mpls will laugh at just how low that is.

Military dad here, too. Navy Corpsman assigned to the 2nd Batallion, 4th Marines in Vietnam. Still alive, 78 years old. His parents were both decorated military from WWII (yes, that includes my grandmother). They lived in a small town of 1200 people in southeastern MN. He enlisted in the Navy right after HS and was eventually sent to De Nang. He never talks about his time there. Met my mother a few months before being sent off to Basic. They have been married since '71. Came back, worked misc jobs while going to school on his GI Bill. Then they pulled it, so he ended up changing oil and tires for little pay. Was laid off on Christmas Eve 1970. Found a job with Trane Co after harassing the recruiter (former military man himself) for 6 months, and ended up working there for 43 years. But I never knew what he actually did. He was always was at every sporting event for my sisters and I. He would never miss an important moment in our lives. He is a staunch Republican, but in the most conservative (non-religious)/libetarian way possible. He is the son of an immigrant (his mom) and 2nd generation immigrant (his dad), so he has a little bit of a bleeding heart for the downtrodden/less well off. He has no issues with gay people. "Stay out of his life, and he will stay out of yours". But don't you dare take more of his money for any of that stuff! He eats the same things week after week. Always meat and potatoes of some sort. He never drinks, except an old fashioned every now and again. He golfs every morning. He owns a $50k bass boat and fishes the Mississippi every afternoon. He falls asleep at 8pm watching fox news or the history channel every night. God, I love that man!

He should have never gotten himself in that position in the first place. Who is he, the reincarnation of Peter III?
