    Great Football Quotes

Bum Phillips on Earl Campbell: "I wouldn't say he's in a class by himself, but it don't take long to call roll." Earl didn't run the preseason mile under the time Houston RBs had to one year. "Hell if it's third and a mile we won't give it to him."
  2. 12 team league, all the owners are good. 9th pick, scoring is fairly standard (4 pts passing td, 1 pt every 25 yds passing, 6 pts rush/receiving td, 1 point every 10 yds rush/receiving, bonuses at 100 yds rush/receiving and 300 passing). Call me old school, but I still feel RB-RB is the play for my first two selections. There are several good QBs I can wait on, and I'm just not in love with any of the top WRs this year. Assuming a few QBs and WRs are mixed in early/around me, isn't a top two of Mendenhall/McFadden or Turner/McFadden preferable to a QB/RB or WR/RB mix? It might be difficult to pass on Brady or Rivers or Megatron, but in a tough league like this I feel more value is around later for WR/QB than there is for RB.
  3. He's falling into the 7-8, even 10th pick in some mocks I'm seeing. If you look at his "poor" season last year, he was on track to match the stats from his superb 2008 before the injury. He reportedly is in a bit better shape, and should be hungrier (pardon the pun) to get back to 08 form. I know in a PPR league he loses a bit of points, but assuming a non-PPR league, do you think he's just as likely to finish as the #1RB overall as anyone else? I realize I may not be breaking ground here but I'm just shocked to see him fall or experts be so casual about the guy.

    WR and RB poll matchups

Would like to see how the votes turn out and any additional insight. These two questions are critical for me in the upcoming season.

    help me select 3 keepers

I think Marshall is the safest choice. I like Stewart but wouldn't want to roll the dice on a keeper with Deangelo around.

    Braylon Edwards

Do you think Monday's performance is more a precursor to the rest of the season or merely an abberation? Both leagues I'm in the team that has him is struggling and would probably do a deal. Curious to hear the board's verdict before I approach them. Thanks.

    After Manning

Completely on the fence about Palmer/Brady. Would love some insight from the board. I feel both offenses will air it out this year, but its obviously a critical pick. Thanks for the help in advance

Maybe you're right. Winning the SB with shaky calls while getting in as a wildcard then missing the playoffs the next season is not a fluke in any way. Enjoy the games next weekend, I heard Big Ben is signing autographs at Chili's sunday.

Steelers sure did show that last year wasn't a fluke. Enjoy the Bears-Seattle playoff game next weekend

    In the last 30 years..........................

Not the biggest but an interesting one: Dallas traded two first round picks to Seattle for Joey Galloway, those two picks were used on Shaun Alexander and Steve Hutchinson
