I'm a fairweather Texans fan after so many years spent as a loyal Oilers fan, but my favorite NFL usually is whoever is playing the Cowboys on any given week.

Then again, Rangers fans will be insufferable if they win, just like Cowboys fans.

Now I have my top reason for rooting for the Rangers.

I had no idea until recently how hateful Rangers fans are toward the Astros. It reminds me of going to Waco to see an Aggie-Bears game and realizing how much Baylor hated A&M. I had no idea we were their biggest rival. A couple I know in Houston went to Game 7, and a Rangers fan dumped a bag of peanuts on them as the game ended. Out in the parking lot, Rangers fans were loudly talking sh!t, taunting Astros fans and even trying to pick fights with them. I'm seeing a lot of Rangers-fan hate toward the Astros on social media. The Astros have only been in that division since 2013, so there hasn't been much time for a rivalry to fester, particularly since neither team has been great simultaneously until now. I'm still happy to see the Rangers in the World Series and hope they win it.

You can't compare the Rangers-Astros rivalry to Sox-Yankees, son.

The biggest kid in middle school punched me hard in the shoulder out of nowhere in the locker room after P.E. I punched him in the face, figuring that was about all I would get in before he demolished me. Instead, it was like I hurt his feelings or something. He asked me why I punched him, and I said ... well ... you hit me. He never bothered me again. The neighborhood kids, including me, got into fights from time to time, but I don't recall anyone bullying each other. We teased each other all the time, though. I witnessed a lot of bullying in middle school.

The Rangers have been my second-favorite baseball team, second to the Astros, for decades. Class organization. But dayem these Rangers fans are asshats. I'm struggling now.
