In a TE-mandatory league, a WR wouldn't be worth more than the #1 TE unless that WR significantly outscored that TE.
-
Perhaps I'm overanalyzing the situation but then again, think about it man...STL is w/o their starting QB, 2 WRs, and their defense is terrible, which added up equals minimal production from Jackson. Jamie Martin is downright awful and his play won't help SJax in the least. Maybe it's not all that crazy to think about Parker instead....wouldn't you agree? You could have written the exact same thing last week.

Davis is averaging 17 carries per game and only got more than 19 once. Foster is averaging 8 carries per game and only got less than 8 once. Davis is averaging 53 yards per game and only got more than 77 once. Foster is averaging 37 yards per game and only got less than 37 once.

Methinks you over-value your own players too much. In my ESPN league, Shockey is the #2 TE and T. Jones is the #5 RB. You think you're going to get them for TO, a lower tier RB (MeMo) and a worthless TE (Crumpler)? There are lots of WRs having years as good as TO; nobody's going to give up two "priority position" stars for TO... 1. Crumpler's the #3 TE in my league, right behind Shockey. The guy loses 2.5 points per game "downgrading" from #3 to #2. 2. Owens is the #3 WR in my league. So, no, not too many WRs are having as good a year as him.

Okay, I just offered Owens/M. Moore/Crumpler for T. Jones/Shockey. CRAZY!

I already traded S. Jackson in Week 3 for Owens & Taylor. Thought I had a steal at the time, but I don't need Owens now.

Kevin Curtis / Dane Looker CBS Scoring Controversy
swandown replied to BirdBradyBobbyOrr's topic in FFToday Board
The 21-yard catch was definitely made by Looker. NFL.com has now posted the correct stat lines for Curtis and Looker. Curtis goes from 4-90 to 3-69 and Looker goes from 3-22 to 4-43. They haven't yet changed the Gamebook or Play-By-Play, however. -

Just traded Antowain & L.J. Smith for Crumpler/Jimmy Smith. -
How many backup RBs are averaging more than Foster's 8.2 carries per game? Answer: 2 (Tatum Bell, Larry Johnson)

Wes Welker, PAT kicker extraordinaire!

It only took 6 minutes for him to go from "he looked good" to "questionable"!

Absolutely correct. There's a team in my league who subscribes to the stud WR theory and he blows teams out and then gets blown out. He may make the playoffs but he'll be hard pressed to beat playoff teams for 2-3 straight weeks with that type of lineup. I have Owens-Moss-Galloway in one league, but I'm 2-5 because my RBs (which aren't terrible -- Fred Taylor/Mewelde Moore/Mike Anderson) aren't in the top-15. Meanwhile, the guy with LT/Steven Jackson is 6-1 despite having Reggie Wayne and Keyshawn as his top WRs. You can always find a plug-in WR.
-
That RB duo will beat you every time. It's much easier for him to find plug-in WRs. Meanwhile, your "stud" WRs will be inconsistent -- scoring HUGE points one week, but costing you wins the next.
-
1. The league will get over it. 2. If Ward is your #3 then it doesn't help you that much anyway. 3. The guy got the #6 QB in fantasy football, so shouldn't be complaining. 4. Offer Ward back to the original owner -- for a price.

Funny, I was just thinking of offering Rackers for Davis....

Why is everyone on Tony Fisher's jock?
swandown replied to noneofyourbusiness's topic in FFToday Board
Because he's a starting RB and there are only 32 of them. HTH. -
you mean pleurisy... Palsy?

1. The best setup is a "blind bid" arrangement, where everyone offers to buy players (for $1-2 each). That way everyone has an equal chance of getting a player. 2. Otherwise, this is how you should do it: - waivers are processed once a week (usually Tuesday or Wednesday) - treat it like a supplemental draft -- worst-to-first in non-snake order. Each team chooses 1 player before going to the end of the line. - after waivers are processed, you can have a "first come, first served" system through Sunday morning. Then close waivers until the next week.

Didn't Charles Lee play for the Packers originally? 2 years with the Packers and 3 with Tampa, mostly doing special teams work.

As long as Hakim's starting every week, I'd go with Hakim. (And with both Horn and Stallworth being perpetually banged up, we could see solid production out of Hakim for the next month). But in the long run, I'd go with Gabriel. I think he could legitimately beat out Porter for a starting spot by Week 13.

I started 1-5 in 2000. I had Harrison, Holt & Tim Brown (3 of the top 5 WRs that year) but not much else. Another guy in the league was 6-0 thanks to the Culpepper-to-Moss connection. His #4 WR was Joe Horn, who was in his first year in New Orleans and was off to a bit of a slow start. So.....I offered Harrison (the #1 WR in the league) plus my starting QB (Aikman) for Horn and his backup QB -- Jeff Garcia. The guy couldn't believe I was giving him such a great deal. I ended up winning the rest of my games and cruising to the Superbowl.

Antonio Freeman is younger.
-
I have Owens, Moss, and Galloway (in addition to Manning at QB). I'm 2-5. Why? Because my RBs -- Fred Taylor and Reuben Droughns -- have sucked. Meanwhile, the guys with LT, Alexander and Edge are all 4-3 or better. Getting consistent points out of your RBs is key to winning at FF.

I am starting to think that Nick Goings will be a solid play during the fantasy playoffs.
-
You're all idiots for thinking Rackers will continue to kick 4 FGs a game.
