    McNabb is now a Redskin

Too much reliance on the pass and always too many clock management issues in the last 5 minutes of a game. Those are on the coach, and I think it hurt the team under pressure. Just my opinion though.

    McNabb is now a Redskin

The Eagles would have been to the SB 2 more times if not for Reid. His coaching under pressure was way worse than any accuracy troubles McNabb had. McNabb made Reid look better than he is, and that will show this year.
  3. Accuracy is being way undervalued here. Manning, Warner, Brees ... these guys could hit a small target from 40 yards. Montana, Jim Kelly, Steve Young, Aikman were all the same way. Here are the top 20 passer ratings of all time. There are a couple of gunslingers - Farve, Culpepper, McNabb. But the other 17 are just accurate and have enough of an arm. Old school guys won't make this list because of changes in the game, but Unitas, Jurgenson, Morrell, Starr were all very accurate too. Throw in good leadership, and you have a franchise QB. Player Years Rating 1 Steve Young 1985-99 96.81 2 Peyton Manning 1998-present 94.72 3 Kurt Warner 1998-present 93.17 4 Tom Brady 2000-present 92.93 5 Joe Montana 1979-1994 92.26 6 Carson Palmer 2004-present 90.12 7 Daunte Culpepper 1999-present 89.95 8 Chad Pennington 2000-present 88.89 9 Marc Bulger 2002-present 88.08 10 Drew Brees 2001-present 87.94 11 Jeff Garcia 1999-present 87.24 12 Trent Green 1997-present 86.9 13 Dan Marino 1983-99 86.38 14 Matt Hasselbeck 1999-present 86.23 15 Donovan McNabb 1999-present 85.78 16 Brett Favre 1991-2007 85.7 17 Jake Delhomme 1999-present 85.23 18 Rich Gannon 1987-2004 84.71 19 Jim Kelly 1986-96 84.39 20 Mark Brunell 1994-2006 84.21

My NFL mock draft - top 10 picks

    1. St. Louis - Bradford 2. Detroit - Okung 3. Tampa Bay - Suh 4. Washington - T Williams 5. Kansas City - Berry 6. Seattle - Spiller 7. Cleveland - Clausen 8. Oakland - Campbell 9. Buffalo - McCoy 10. Jacksonville - Morgan My guess is two of these picks are traded away because Okung, Berry, Spiller, and McCoy are all worthy of good teams packaging up later picks to fill a specific need.

    Shutter Island - The movie

The plot of Gangs of New York was a bit screwed up, but for pure acting Daniel Day Lewis rocked the house and DiCaprio was very solid. Agree that DiCpario has moved beyond the schtick of his Titanic role.

Do the Pats have any idea what they are doing?

Rumor in DC is that the Redskins are going to trade Chris Cooley to NE for a 2010 2nd rounder and 2011 mid-rounder on draft day. While a rumor, it certainly makes sense for both teams. Pat need a TE and have a lot of picks. Skins need picks and have Fred Davis who could start next year.

Shanahan in as Skins new head coach

Bruce Allen and Shanny will hardly be saviors. But Allen is better than Cerrato, and Shanny is much, much better than Zorn. The defense can easily improve under Shanny and the right DCordinator. But the offense needs a personnel overhaul before it improves much. Campbell, Portis, the OL, the WRs. There isn't much there to be excited about.

the colts killed the the rams

Sprained shoulder. But does his quote that this is a recurring injury bother anyone? It would probably hurt his value in dynasty leagues. Shoulder injuries are not good for the punishment RBs take. "I'll be all right," he said. "It's something I've had before in college. I know how to handle it. I'll be back (today)."

    Jansen released by Skins

He's beat up from 10 years in the league, and his pass blocking skills are gone. But he was a nice player on some bad teams. Probably will get a shot from another club, but not sure he still has the skills to catch on. $6M in dead cap space, and the Skins didn't pick up much for the OL in the offseason. So while it's OK to cut him, the cap management and drafts for this ownership continue to stink.

    Seether "Careless Whisper"

The fact that George Michaels wrote this song when he was 9 years old makes the original bearable. The fact that a band did a remake - now that is absurd

    Javon Ringer

I think a few guys fell too far because some teams are always reaching for team needs. For example, Victor Harris fell too far. This guy was a top 5 CB until the combine and workouts got going. The Eagles got a steal. Harris was likely hurt by the lack of NFL production from other defensive players coming out of VT (ie J. Williams, Adibi) and his slow 40 time in workouts.

A brief history of Mel Kiper

These stats that say so and so got 7 out of 32 picks correct are meaningless. If you projected Stafford to go #1 this year, but the Lions take an OT, you are likely to miss 7 of the next 8 picks. It flows from pick to pick, so getting 25% really isn't that bad. Kiper nor any of these other analysts are really that bad at understanding an individual players skills, strengths, and weaknesses. But what he misses is how they will perform on the team that drafted them. And what almost nobody can read is their heart and soul. These players, generally dumb though they are, are well versed in what to say to scouts, so they usually come across decent looking. Akili Smith may have been average if he went to a veteran team instead of the Bungles. Brady may have sucked if he went to the Bungles. You can't only look at a players skills...so much depends on the situation they go into (coaches, front office, surrounding players, schemes, etc).

    Washington Redskins

I think we may see Cooley moved on draft day for some picks. Let's say for a 2 and 3. Lots of teams need a TE, and Cooley is one of the few tradeable players the Skins have. The trade allows the Skins to fill some needs and a depth. ilike Cooley a lot, but there are just more needs than a stud TE. - It seems they liked Fred Davis, so they still have a pass catching TE. - TE isn't required as much in the WCO, so adequate is good enough (potentially why Davis was drafted anyway, as it seemed unnecessary) - They can get DE, OT, and OLB with their 1, 2, and 3 (2 and 3 coming from the trade). Plus grab extra OL and DT with their other picks. I am one of Campbell's biggest bashers. But the fact is that getting a QB early has no use given how bad the OL is. Give him one more year to see if he can get it, and if not then look at the options (next years draft, Brennan, FA).

Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 9 (FIXED)

Kolby Smith has put up 21 rushing attempts for 25 yards in the last two games. Not exactly what I'd consider a hot pickup.

    What is your worst pick/purchase?

Owens 2.8 Maroney 3.5 Palmer 4.8 A Green 7.5 Thankfully I got Portis, Cooley, Rodgers and Jennings. Yep, this has been a really bad year.

    Reggie Bush

Duece owner that was having a crappy year

    Someone Just Dropped Maroney...

I am still holding him on a 15 man roster. But I am very close to cutting him. The RBs below are available in my league, and I think Buckhalter, McAllister, Dunn and M Bush may have more upside. If the starters get hurt, they become the man. The Pats are looking like RBBC with 3 guys vulturing each other, and Maroney is appearing to be the worst of the bunch. Buckhalter, Correll RB PHI Thomas, Pierre RB NO Fargas, Justin RB OAK Rice, Ray RB BAL McAllister, Deuce RB NO Jackson, Brandon RB GB Dunn, Warrick RB TB Bush, Michael RB OAK McClain, LeRon RB BAL Ward, Derrick RB NYG Green, Ahman RB HOU Rhodes, Dominic RB IND

    Matt Millen Out In Detroit

The same way he's wathced his $900M business get passed by every other car manufacturer in the world. Too stupid or lazy to accept when changes are needed.

    Portis and Betts

Portis is the better back, and this comes from a longtime fan of Betts that questioned the Portis trade at all. Even with the Bailey personal issues that caused it, I didn't see the need. When Portis is in, I think you'll see a good blend of passing and running. He's by far the superior blocking back. When Betts is in, I think you'll see the offense in a 75% running mode. Kind of wears down the D. That being said, Betts probably gets in every third series. And for those cracking on MIA's D, it was ranked 5th last year and still looks pretty good. The Skins are just a completely different team with Campbell. Less experinced maybe, but the Offense is going to be much better than last year.

Who will have a better Week 1?

The key here is that the Eagles D is very good, and their team is pretty good. Which means GB will be throwing the ball a lot. I'd say Peterson.
  21. Apu Nahasapeemapetilon

    Tatum Bell, Brandon Jackson

And this is why he scored a TD every single time he got a handoff inside the 5 ? I think Packer fans are just looking for ways to blame the GM for more dumb moves. I think you all found a very good RB in this BJax kid. He's a rook, so the blocking is bound to be an issue. But from a runner perspective, he looks very strong. Conversely, Morency has done nothing...ever...and you all continue to act like Morency will take the job back I own both, so I could care less who runs the ball. But I think you all are nuts to be so down on BJax already

    20 worst lyrics

Hey, that's not too bad. Could totally chill out on the front porch to that music. For some strange reason it makes me think of the band Luna from the UK, even though they aren't country...more mood music. But very similar back beats or something.

Mark Brunell is being traded to the Seattle Seahawks for a future draft pick

Brunell said on radio this morning that he knew nothing of a trade, and didn't seem to want to even talk about it. That being said... Todd Collins is a better looking QB right now for the Al Saunders offense. Palmer is looking like a very nice 3rd stringer to bring up behind Campbell. So it wouldn't suprise me if the Skins were listening to offers for Brunell from teams that needed a veteran backup. Brunell is WAY better than Seneca. He is also better than 50% of the backups in the NFL. He'd still be very effective in the WCO. So, I could see them trading him. If they don't get the right offer, I expect they'd list Brunell as the #2 until a Campbell injury (just to deflect the press). They'd put Palmer on the Practice Squad.

    Tatum Bell

Please be advised that Duckett was in the picture in ATL and WAS during preseason. I wouldn't get too high on an overweight, slow, pass dropping whiner.

    They Peyton Manning Theory

I got Alexander at 1.8. Then Peyton at 2.5. Both of these guys dropped about 3 spots past where I figured they'd go. 16 RBs were taken before Peyton. I should be happy becasue based on draft lists I got value, and I'm a Manning fan. But I'm still leary of playing a season without 2 solid RBs. I'm stuck with T Bell and Brandon Jackson as my #2 RB. Makes it hard on the stomach.
