Hasn't delivered on ecnomic promises. Carville is right about the economy. Biden's economy was slowwwly improving. If Trump had stayed that course with a few Trump tweaks...he would have been in better position today. As it is, his kicking over of the trash can is going to take some time. That being said, two of his biggest pie in the sky promisies "no taxes on Tips/OT" haven't even really seen the light of day yet. Both of those were instrumental in getting people who wouldn't normally wouldn't have voted for him to listen to him. Odd that he isn't even trying to repay those people for that.

Round 4 of the pump and dump. Fri. afternoon, Trump will imposes SUPER SANCTIONS! on China...driving the market down again. He'll be bragging in the Oval Office that he made CEOS hundreds of millions of dollars in the market by next Wed.

Almost 8K points since Biden left. Still don't get why Trump raced to fire all of these Federal employees and impose all these tariffs. He still has another 20 months until Congress is up for a vote agian.

Come on. Republicans want cheap labor. That's why they bulk at raising the minimum wage and discourage unions. They aren't going to throw away the cheapest labor they can get. MAGA diehards were idiots to think their fields, their restaurant kitchens and their hotel laundry rooms would be illegal free.

I think there needs to be a gradual mindset shift amongst Americans in regards to their spending trends to be more frugal and to buy more American. That's an almost herculean thing to try and nurture normally and in todays political culture; an impossibility. Nevermind the idea that that mindset often doesn't jibe with a bustling stock market; something that people have intricately tied (right or wrong) to the financial success of the country. I think there will be a on/off with these tariffs for the foreseable future; with the one against China remaining fairly constant. I think China has the ability to whether it better than we will and even if their citizens lose; they'll "win" (for lack of better words). Then, the mid-terms will happen; the Republicans will get smoked and lose their Legislative Power. Then the tariff thing will be pretty much over.

MAGA spinologists are working overtime (still taxed though) tonigh trying to come up with a narrative to refute this.

Normally I'd give an incoming POTUS a grace period of 6-9 months in regards to "owning" the economy; but Trump was so intent on a Hundred Days blitz that he kind of negates that grace. If he had sunset more Federal employees and gave a further out deadline for the tariffs (both to allow American businesses and other countries in line), his outlook would be much more rosy. He owns any failures of this economy. There's no real tie back to Biden....but to be fair, if it succeeds...none of the Dems can ride on his coat tails. He would own the success as well.

He negotiated some of those deals though.
