NY Times On Leftist Elite Social Hierarchy Against Trumpism: "What If We’re The Bad Guys Here?"
zsasz replied to Blue Horseshoe's topic in The Geek Club
That's been a first page play from the RNC since Rush Limbaugh pooped onto the scene and made demonizing the Left more important than Conservative political ideas. Maybe the Democrats should go high when the other side goes low......but let's not act like this is something that hasn't been around for decades; and in all honesty...since the beginning of politics. -

IIRC, he's one of the owners from another fantasy football site. Pretty sad that that site's ownership is coming over to our site to post. -

That's probably the worst thing about the idol worship with this guy...he's never really "walked the walk" of the common man. If this guy came from nothing; if he gave time in his early life for service to this country in either military or LE; if he actually ever had to worry about putting food on the table for his family...I could understand the love for him. He's none of that. -

Meh. Process crimes. Biden's a businessman......it's in his nature to make huge deals and profit. The Comeback Kid is just making money....nothing wrong with that. -
Polls right now are a relevant as a fart in a hurricane. Granted, those polls might hold, but I don't think they will as the election season starts heating up. To that, I think it's more important to see polling basically from 3 states PA, WI, MI. Those are the only ones that matter if Trump is to win.
-
Good thing the polls don't close 400+ days before the election starts.......
-
DeSantis probably could have sat out and waited until 2028. Trump supporters could also realize that DeSantis was a better choice in 24 and vote for him. It's not like you'll get something from a Trump Presidency that you wouldn't from a DeSantis Presidency......
-
I don't know...does Biden have charisma? Most would say he didn't in 2020....
-
He doesn't....and that hurts him with a guy like Trump. But against Biden, his lack of charisma wouldn't have been a real problem. DeSantis would have presented a good enough case of fiscal Conservativsim, morals and a "return to normalcy" that would have been attractive to Centrists and Republican leaning Indys who didn't want to vote for Trump. To that, if Trump didn't run and endorsed DeSantis, he wouldn't have lost many Trumper votes. "Running away" is an exaggeration.....but I do think he would have won fairly comfortably.
-
The real tragedy in this election cycle is how Trump and the Republicans have completely gelded DeSantis. He's cooked nationally. Ironically, he'd have won running away against Biden.
-
Problem for the Republicans is the EC. Biden can lose both GA and AZ and he still wins with NV to spare. Trump might be polling ahead in places right now; but it's early. As funny as it would be for Trump to win the popular but lose the EC....I don't even really see that happening after losing by 3M in 16 and 7M in 20. That being said, I'd imagine Biden and Harris aren't inspiring the DNC who is probably just waiting until 2028 when they can promote Wes Moore or Josh Shapiro; both of whom look to be rising stars. Ironically neither would probably HAVE to wait until 2024, as either would smoke Trump. They just need to get past Biden/Harris.
-
They don't need to to beat Trump.

Didn't Trump attack the mother of a soldier that died in Niger on his watch? The idea that Republicans care about justice for American soldiers went out the window with Reagan after the Beirut bombing.
-
How can there be a “two-tiered system of justice” when Senator Menedez is indicted with taking bribes?

Conservative media sources do the same thing. You new to this? -
House averts shutdown as McCarthy works out deal with Democrats

Exactly. If Conservatives were actually interested in being "conservative"....more people would be open to listen. Where are the legit, morally decent Conservatives who could lead this Party? -

We the people have, for some time, applauded the tossing aside of ritual, decorum, tradition and tried and true accepted niceties. Hell, we elected a man in 2016 to the highest office in the land under an idea that what the "swamp" was doing wasn't working and that we should look outside the box to get back to normal. And we're complaining about dress code? I thought we as a country were supposed to be more mavericky.

Can anyone say how the whole "January 6 thing" was worse than the 2020 riots?
zsasz replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
Then I guess the onus of the inaction in regards to this falls upon the whomever was directing the Federal Government in the summer of 2020. Maybe the Republican led Executive Branch made in a political issue by not pushing for these people to be arrested, tried and sentenced. -

Jan 6th were a Federal incident that involved an attempt to disrupt or stop the process of electing a new President. All of those guys who entered the Capitol Building should be swinging from scaffolds on the Capitol steps. The Summer Riots were localized incidents. If it happened in my state/city...I'd be perfectly fine to see those guys who incited violence and destroyed property swinging from the scaffolds of their various state Capitol building steps. It didn't. So I'm not going to be one to tell Chicago or Portland or Millwaukee what to do. I do think that if there were any Federal buildings attacked during this time...the Federal government should be using resources to pick these people up and punish them. In both instances, there were people at these events who DIDN't engage in violence/terror/attempts to subjugate democracy. Nothing should happen to those people as I feel they were exercising their Rights. -
Nice. Good get for Biden.
-
I personally don't get the Lefts view on guns; seeing as how I believe that if anyone who hates guns REALLY needed a situation that called for a gun; they'd want one. The Rights obesssion with gun culture and the sancitity of the gun does harm to their cause then good though.

This is the best kind of war to be in, one in which you're whittling away at one of your primary opponents with no loss of your soldiers lives. For pennies on the dollar, we're seeing Russian capabilities, technologial capabilities of weapons systems and getting rid of some old stock. Nothing wrong with that at all.....
-
Some people on the Right in this country REALLY like Russia for some reason.
