They envisioned him as a role model with cool hair, a hot wife and a gold toilet and who told "it" like it is....although "it" was often at odds with the way they were raised as to what was important in being a good human being. Hopefully they've learned their lesson and dump him so us centrists can go back to seeing the Republican Party as a viable alternative.

I don't particularly have a problem with fact checking moderators. I don't need someone to correct a canidate if they are within the realm of reasonability of normal politics but if someone at a debate comes out and says something ludicrous like "Martians are replacing people in high level positions of government around the world (or cats and dogs are being eaten in Ohio)....there should be a challenge to it. ETA: and there should be a better retort than "Well...I saw it on T.V.".

It's the power that Trump has over these people. He says it and instead of them rebuking him or even fact checking him....they double down and follow him off the cliff. I'd imagine if these Haitians were Europeans....people like Hardcore and the others in the MAGA Brain Trust would be more accepting.

Everytime Democrats bring up taking care of our own first...Conservatives and the RNC talk about "bootstrap pulling up" and "people who are lazy" and "people who don't want to work" and how "people rely on the government too much to take care of them" and all these other platitudes of how layabouts in this country want the government to take of them so they can continue to be layabouts.
