Lot of people bet alot of money on their own sports team; regardless of whether they think they are going to win or....more importantly, they're looking at their own sports team thru rose colored glasses.

1. Might happen. 2. Won't happen. The elites of the Republican Party enjoy the fruits of illegal labor as much as anyone else. They're not giving that up. There will be a few "high profile" deportation move as he tries to convince people he's going to do this....but the Party won't allow it. 3. This is one that could happen. He and the Republicans have piped this is throwing money away....for him to not do it in some manner will look weak. 4. He'll push for a tax cut. That's as tried and true amongst the Republicans as the 2nd Amendment. 5. He (or the Party) will fill as many spots as they can with "more loyal" people. 6. His win will encourage and embolden the anti-woke moment. File this one under the idea that " I don't know if Donald Trump is a racist....but people who admit to being racists support Donald Trump". 7. The climate and nature will suffer due to a lifting of restrictions. Trump will have 4 years. He should be looking at this like he only has 2 years....as it would stand to reason that his Party will take a hit in the mid-terms. There's no long game with this Presidency. If it doesn't happen in the first 6 months; it ain't going to happen.

If this is his thought, than he's an idiot. Trumps not in a position of strenght here because Putin knows that Trump (from his rhetoric and the rhetoric of his supporters) believes that Ukraine is corrupt and that the U.S. does not want to get boots on the ground in the Ukraine. Regardless of an increase of aid; Ukraine will be hard pressed to win unless NATO physically gets involved and/or Putin gets overturned from inside Russia. If Trump was a true deal-maker/wildcard....he'd advocate Russians rising up and overthrowing Putin in order to stop the war. "Russians need to get rid of this bald,weak man...we've seen him with his shirt off and he has a bird cage chest...he doesn't have the luxurious, lioneseque man that I have....perfectly coiffed head of golden hair...befitting a leader....not Putins bald head....they need to get rid of him in a Perfect Revolution....they had a Revolution once, you know. Wierd vibe in that either side could get blindsided by the "hidden" voter in this election. I think that in most areas of the country, the Trump supporter is way more vocal, outspoken and wears they/their heart on they/their sleeve.....but I can see some areas where they/their would be hesitant to raise their banner for Trump. Same for Harris supporters. I'm sure there are Harris supporters in the trailer parks of the country....but they are hesitant to show support. I'll stand on my original prediction. Harris wins. And internal and external polling in the months post election will show that ANY Republican candidate other than Trump would have beat her. The Centrists went with Harris because the Republicans didn't do THEIR job in the primary.

I think what you're seeing in this thread and in the MAGA blogosphere, is disapointment that human suffering could not be used to make political hay. So there's an attempt to lie and spread half truths about the situation. Not saying that MAGA is the only one to do it when the situation arises.

I do think that this debate was very much a breath of fresh air (at least until Vance's refusal) in regards to civility and restraint. Both guys repeatedly acknowledged that the other one had, in their own way, the best interests of the country at hand. Lot different than the debates of the past 8 years.

Vance was winning the debate until he said he wouldn't accept election results. If you're going to boil this election down to one issue...it's not economy or immigration. It's the idea that a large political movement in this country balks with the idea of accepting the tried and true mechanisms of political victory and succession. Trump and Vance had the chance to say that they're willing to utilize all the measures and safeguards at their disposal within the system to make sure the political process works....but once those are exhausted, they will accept the results and move on. They refuse to.

Walz got him in the end there on the housing issues.
