    Number One Defense.

The Minnesota defence was pretty scary as it was last year, then they go and add Jared Allen. Toss in the fact that, like mentioned above, they will have 6 games versus Grossman/Orton, Kitna, and Aaron Rogers and that's a pretty good recipe for success.

    Calvin Johnson

Expecting WR1 numbers is a little unrealistic in my opinion, but CJ is truly a beast. I actually think that both Roy and CJ are going to see increases in thier production this year. No more Martz should mean no more 4WR sets with WR3 and WR4 eating up targets that should rightfully be going to CJ and Roy. If Detroit can string together some semblance of a run game, and keep Kitna off his arse, then I like both Detroit wideouts to put up solid WR2 numbers. In a redraft, I would probably look to Roy before CJ, but in my 3 player keeper league that starts up this year, I definitely have my eye on CJ.

Weekly Westbrook is a stud thread

I took him 5th overall in our redraft league this year after Tomlinson, S. Jackson, LJ and Addai went off the board. With our league's custom settings/scoring system, Westbrook is the number one fantasy RB in our league. He has won me weeks by himself a couple times this year, and having the guts to draft him where I did might be the reason I contend for the title this year... ...that and drafting Witten in the 10th, and Brandon Marshall in the 9th and Favre in the 7th

Let's play a game! You fill in the blank. 12 team redraft

will undeniably underachieve relative to where he is drafted, no matter where that ends up being this year he'll be one of those guys at the end of your draft where you can say, "I'm glad I wasn't the bozo who drafted that guy too early"

    Bears did NOT "Get Lucky"!

Yep...totally out coached...and totally dominated for 56 minutes.. and it was smart passing 2 times before they punted to stop the clock...andnot getting a first down on 3rd and 1 to take time off the clock and move rackers closer...after all...despite it all...even after the missed FG...the bears had 48 seconds to perhaps come back...but i suppose that was luck too

    Bears did NOT "Get Lucky"!

After reading all the posts all i have to say is this so far regarding this thread. I'm not going to argue that there was luck in that game, but you have to be good to be lucky, and you have to be good enough to even be in that position to let luck help you out in the end. Think of how many turnovers the Bears committed (6) and how many of those turnovers were in Bear's territory. Now how many points did Arizona get off those turnovers despite the field position? I believe it was 13? So a team scores only 13 points off of 6 fricken turnovers and thats 90% luck? Some credit needs to be given to the Bears defence here who were responsible for pushing them out of field goal range a couple times and holding the Cards to the points they did. Its not luck that Edge fumbles that ball...In all probability that should have happened last night. What does he average? .001 yds per carry? He got stuffed, like he did all game long...Urlacher stuck his paw in there and ripped it out. Hester made a great return, and the sack fumble returned for a TD was what got it all started, and when I say got it all started I mean, the Cardinals began thinking..."Jesus, Can we actually blow this thing?". Well guess what? They did. It was all in thier heads, from Coach, to QB, to Kicker. Of all the teams in the NFL, i think maybe 2 or 3 would have been able to keep the damage from that atrocity on offence last night to 13 points from those turnovers when 4 turnovers were were inside the Bears' half. That game should have been out of reach in the first half. Like i said, you have to be good to get a bit lucky....but lets look at why the bears won...2 great defensive plays which had absolutely nothing to do with luck, and a great special tams play that had nothing to do with luck. Does Rackers usually hit that field goal? Perhaps. But the bears have usually been scoring when they got to the red zone this year...and if that were the case when they got down there in the second half instead of Gould kicking the FG...then it's 4 extra points and Racker's doesnt touch the field to have an opportunity to miss the game winning FG. Bottom line...Good teams find ways to win and bad teams find ways to lose them. In this league, theres no such thing as lucky teams, but missed opportunities kill you.

Strategy for drafting in slots 1-4

That was my exact plan for this year's draft. I drafted out of the number 2 spot and my picks ended up the following: (Our league starts 2QB, 2RB, 3WR, TE, K, 2DEF, WR/RB FLEX) 1.02 Larry Johnson 2.11 Larry Fitzgerald 3.02 Reggie Wayne 4.11 Chester Taylor 5.02 Trent Green 6.11 David Carr 7.02 Carolina 8.11 Rod Smith 9.02 Reggie Brown 10.11 Frank Gore 11.02 Kellen Winslow Jr. 12.11 Marion Barber III 13.02 NY Giants 14.11 Chad Jackson 15.02 Mike Anderson 16.11 Ryan Moats 17.02 Dee Brown 18.11 Josh Brown For our league there was some great value that I picked up in certain rounds (pretty much rounds 8-12). Especially in leagues where you only have to start one QB, it is a very effective strategy to go RB, WR, WR, RB, QB. I had this strategy in mind, but really all i was doing was taking the best available player.

Where will Brady Quinn get drafted next year (NFL)?

My guess goes to KC. I think they will have a disappointing season this year and trade up a little in order to get the replacement for Trent Green, or the guy who will be his understudy to takeover once he's done. My $0.02

    Kevin Curtis WK 7 stats

my mistake for posting it twice...browser problem I know that Looker caught passes. He caught 3. But I can clearly remember the 4 catches that Curtis caught. There was a short 6 yard pass he caught on the right side when he stepped out of bounds. There was a 17 yard catch as well. There was the 46 yard play before the steven jackson TD, and there was the play that Martin let the ball hang up there for a lifetime...

    Kevin Curtis WK 7 stats

On this site, as well as on NFL.com in the game stats, Kevin Curtis was put down fo 4 catches for 90 yards and when i go through the play-by-play on NFL.com, and on ESPN.com, I was able to find all 4 catches that I was pretty sure I saw with my own eyes. But according to Yahoo, Curtis had 3 for 69. It appears the catch that they are not giving him is a catch for 21 yards on a 3rd down play, which I remember Martin hanging up in the air for what appeared to be 10 minutes, because I recall being happy that Curtis caught the pass and mocking the weakness of Martin's arm... Does anyone remember this play? Becuase in a high point scoring league, that 21 yard play and reception swung my matchup from a 6 point win for me to an 8 point loss...and I am fricken pissed right off... I can remember every single one of the 4 catches that he had, so does my brother, and this matchup that I lost this week is probably going to come back and keep me out of the playoffs.

Mushin Muhammad - Why am I still high on him?

This will be a defensive game. Whoever plays better D wins. Detroit at home, except the bears have the best D in the league. Don't start your Lions named Jones this week...the bears havent let in a rush TD all year. Special teams will be big as well. I think the short fields favor the bears and Thomas Jones. as far as Mush goes...i think that due to the nature of the game, we might see a little more passes thrown Mush's way because of the absence of Bly. I think that it is plausible to project Muhammad for a score this week. just my opinion, as a bears fan, and a Mush owner...and believe me, I've had to sit him alot... prediction: 6 for 65 and TD
