Gentlemen. I am still at work here on the east coast. Toronto, Canada to be exact. So I am getting excited for Sundays games and a random thought comes to mind. Do you guys think that the NFL trading deadline is too early. Which is too say that is too early in the season. Now, I have already stated that I live in T.O. For those who do not know the Maple Leafs/hockey are the passion of this city, and a passion for myself as well. One thing that makes hockey very interesting before the implementation of the salary cap was the trading deadline. It was held generally held middle of March. That took place about 6 weeks, give or take, left in the season. Obviously it is a totally different sport in regards to the length of the season. However, do you guys think that if the deadline for the NFL was held say week 10 or 11, would allow for more trades, for no other reason that teams have established if they are contenders or not. I contend that the deadline being where it is presently, does not allow teams to have an accurate assessment of where they are in realtion to the playoffs. I also concede that the cap makes trades in the NFL difficult, however I was wondering if the deadline was pushed back teams may be willing to trade picks for players that may help put them over the top. I am not the smartest individual in regards to cap hits and cap management. I was just womdering hat you guys thought?
