PLEASE Rate My Team! First Draft of Season!

Thanks for the response. It is not PPR but you get 3 points for every 5 receptions. I am not super excited about my top 2 RB's but I do like them, especially with the rest of my team (QB and WR's). I am higher on Brown this year than most people and Tate could still do decent if they limit Foster at times. He was basically my "high reward" pick. I took Redman way late hoping Mendenhall doesn't fully recover. I will respond to yours, thanks!

Just finished 14 team .5 team PPR drafting 6th

I like your RB's, especially if Williams ends up starting over Beanie. I think Jennings has a great chance to play, even if MJD comes back I wouldn't be surprised to see him injured. RB's are stacked overall. Your top 3 should, barring injuries, flourish. I like your WR's but I am not a huge fan of Boldin. I think you did well getting him where you got him though. Maybe it's just because I am not a huge fan of Flacco? Maybe look to Amendola if he is still available for WR depth, could be a PPR sleeper. Overall a very nice team in a 14 team league. Good luck and thanks for replying to mine!

PLEASE Rate My Team! First Draft of Season!

Thanks for the response. I know Nelson won't be a PPR machine but in that offense he should get plenty of yards and chances for TD's. I feel good about my RB depth, hoping my WR depth doesn't cause too many issues. I picked both Denver TE's because their bye week isn't until week 7. I am hoping by then one of these guys is standing out above the other and I can drop the other for a bye week filler. If Ryan comes through, I really like my team. I will reply to yours, thanks!

    I will answer all questions

McFadden was my 2nd choice but the injuries scare me. Plus Chicago should have a much better passing attack this year so hoping that gives Forte even more opportunities.

Thanks for the quick reply! Stafford was available with my first round pick but I wanted to get better value with Ryan. I think Ryan can have a great year, not quite as great as Stafford but the value was what I was going for. The only other RB's that I would have taken instead of Forte would have been McFadden or Murray. I don't like AP/Lynch/Gore/Turner/S.Jax this year. I focused on bonus points for 100 yard games and for 5 receptions, both of which Forte should get fairly often. I am really hoping and banking on Donald Brown being a very good RB for me. He is the clear #1 in Indy and I got him in the 9th round. Tate will be a machine if Foster misses anytime. Thanks again!

    I will answer all questions

First draft of the season yesterday afternoon. This is a 12 team league and here are the league settings: 1 point for 10 yards rushing/receiving 1 point for 25 yards passing 6 points for all TD's 3 points for every 5 receptions 2 points for 50+ yard TD 3 points for 100+ yards rushing/receiving 3 points for 300+ yards passing I picked 8th out of 12 and there were 18 rounds. Projected Starters: QB - Matt Ryan (5th round) WR - Wes Welker (2nd round) WR - Jordy Nelson (3rd round) RB - Matt Forte (1st round) RB - Darren Sproles (4th round) FLEX - Eric Decker (6th round) TE - Jacob Tamme K - Neil Rackers DEF - Patriots Projected Bench: QB - Andrew Luck WR - Nate Washington, Randall Cobb, Brian Quick RB - Ben Tate, Donald Brown, Isaac Redman, JaQuizz Rodgers TE - Joel Dreessen I love my starting WR's, as these were guys that I had really high on my list (especially with some points for receptions). This is part of the reason I put more emphasis on drafting bench RB's (I love Brown this year and possibly Tate and Rodgers if injuries occur to Foster/Turner). Thrilled to get Ryan in the 5th and Decker in the 6th. I took both Denver TE's just because I know they will both get their chance. I picked a defense and kicker in the last 2 rounds. Please let me know what you think, I would greatly appreciate it!

    Rate My Team?

I don't do FF leagues with defensive players so I won't comment in that regard. Your starting lineup looks good but I am curious how Bradshaw will perform this year. You don't have much depth there and if McFadden goes down you could be in trouble. I would grab Jennings ASAP because even when MJD comes back he could get hurt missing this time away. I love your WR's, specifically because you have Harvin and Moore. Harvin is expected to have a great year but everyone forgets about Moore. Moore is the #2 in NO and he is HEALTHY so he will get you a nice amount of catches. I also expect Freeman to have a much better year, he was on my radar at one point. Should be a nice solid backup or if he really plays well he could be nice trade bait for someone who has an injury. Good luck and thanks for your reply to mine!

PLEASE Rate My Team! First Draft of Season!

Thanks for your reply. I agree the point system is a little different than most. I put more value in the reception points than the long TD points, as the reception points should be obtained more often. I was very excited to get Ryan in the 5th as I also believe he will have a huge year. QB's were drafted early in this draft (5 in the 1st round!) so I was a little worried I wouldn't get him. My TE's are suspect yes, but I am hoping Manning makes one of them into something solid. I love my top 3 WR's so as long as they stay healthy and one of my bench guys is decent I will be happy; plus I have no problem using the WW. I usually draft RB/RB in the first two rounds but since I didn't I made sure to get some late value there. I will check yours out, thanks again!

    Vince Young

too bad Houston took the DE instead of Young. he could have been throwing to AJ, which would make him look a lot better.

Sounds a bit Crazy but I think.....

Harrison for me. I just like the consistency in the past. Yes he was injured last year but he has looked good in camp. Cotch probably has a little higher upside but if given the chance I would probably go with the safer pick, the one Manning is throwing to. The Jets won't be as good as a lot of people think. Favre throws too many INTs.
  11. JREarly

    Larry Johnson

maybe a little earlier but not much. i hope he falls to me so i can get him as my RB2, i see huge upside for him this year.
  12. JREarly

Would you take Brees over Romo?

    this guy nails it

AP or SJAX at 3rd pick?

    SJAX

    Cold, hard facts

    Favre = Drama = Annoying

Cool site that helps with avg. draft spots

I use cbssportsline the most, seems to work pretty good for my needs.

    Keeper? I hardly know her!

Peterson, Barber, Wayne...... PPR does make a difference but I would still go with Barber over Fitz simply because you should be able to get a decent WR before a decent RB, especially drafting at the end of the 4th round. Good luck.

    Favre

I agree. While I respect Favre for his play on the field, I really disrespect his actions and the way he has handled this whole ordeal. How many times is he going to say he is retiring then come back and play? I personally just think he wants a lot of attention and holds these press conferences while crying his eyes out and then comes back in the media again to say he wants to play yet again. I just ignore it. It annoys me greatly. Him contacting other teams while retired may be legal but if he is going to blame the Packers for being dishonest and sly then why does he stoop to their level? The Packers wanted him to make a decision about retiring so they could prepare all offseason with the QB that would be the starter. I do not blame the Packers one bit for telling him he cannot have his starting job back. Favre = Drama = Annoying.

    Maurice Jones-Drew: RB, Jacksonville Jaguars

I really enjoy watching this dude play. 26 total TDs in his first 2 years in the league is very impressive. I will definately be keeping my eye on him in the 2nd round. For leagues heavy on TDs this guy can be a real stud, especially if Freddy gets jacked up. In leagues heavy on yardage he should slip a little and rightfully so. Freddy had a pro bowl year last year and unless he gets hurt he is still the starter. I will target MJD simply because his upside is so high.

    Can Someone Please Explain?

I have always gone with the trend of drafting RB/RB in the first 2 rounds of all fantasy leagues and I have been pretty successful with this strategy. I believe in this strategy and I do feel it is the best way to put a fantasy team together. However, looking at the 2007 season totals (fantasy points) I notice that the top 9 players from last season were all QB's. Yes, that's right, Kurt Warner had more fantasy points last year than LT. I run my league on Yahoo and I was just wondering if this is something caused by how Yahoo does their scoring or what?? It is very confusing to me because I know I do not want Warner or Hasselbeck over LT. I am looking to possibly switch sites if this is a Yahoo issue, but I do not see why Yahoo would have their scoring that much different than other sites. To view these stats I go to my current league I have set up this year, click on players and then view 2007 season stats. Are these Yahoo general stats with general scoring or are these #'s based off my league scoring settings? Below I will list the top 15 players from 2007, fantasy points wise...... Brady 567 Romo 447 Manning 415 Brees 409 Anderson 378 Palmer 370 Hasselbeck 361 Big Ben 355 Warner 344 LT 315 Kitna 313 Moss 300 Cutler 299 Manning 299 McNabb 294 I believe in drafting RBs first and I will continue to do so but do I need to change my scoring for my league or change sites all together? My league scoring last year and this year is pretty basic, I don't know why there would be such large #'s of QB's over top RB's, especially when the emphasis is always on draft RB's heavy. My league scoring is as follows: 1 pt/10 yards rushing+receiving 1 pt/25 yards passing 6 pts/all touchdowns (passing, rushing, receiving) 10 pts bonus/150 yards rushing+receiving 5 pts bonus/300 yards passing If anyone could explain this better to me or give some suggestions on what to change or new sites with better scoring I would greatly appreciate it.

Phurfur I completely understand what you are saying and I do agree. I shouldn't be comparing these players by positions such as RB vs QB.
  24. JREarly

    Can Someone Please Explain?

No, I don't. I guess that is why the draft was really fun and unpredictable last year. I am going to be leaving my scoring stats the same and not changing them. I really like 6 pts for each TD scored and I do not want to put even more value on RB's by reducing the # of points given to a QB for throwing a TD. It's pretty obvious the RB's are more far and few between and that's why you see all the QB's bunched together.
