    funny how just the other day we were talking about eddie.  I didnt even realize he had signed with dallas.  there goes the value for whatever jones went to dallas :cry:

    And Autumn could have had him too if we had allowed trading of picks :blink:

    The more stuff goes down in this league the more I understand why Bonky wouldnt have trades for the baseball fraft.

     

    The draft picks have absolutly NO value whatsoever in a draft like this. It could be high to some guys and low for other guys, so there will be a bunch of lowballing going on.

     

    We should have just kept it no trades and then everyone can do their trading after the fact.

    We'll have to remember this for next year :thumbsdown:

    I don't think a time limit is necessary either. Be smart. Don't be the ###### to hold up the draft for a full day. If you know you are not going to be around let us know and send someone your picks like said.

     

    I probably shouldn't even be in here from work so while its working great...but I don't count on it especially as football season draws nearer and they start looking more for it.

     

    My e-mail is valid just not accessible from work. The commishs both have my work addy (hopefully they kept it) if you need me during the day immediately. Again for the reasons above I'm not going to post it.

    There are no minor leagues in football. You either make the roster or are cut. Baseball drafts players who normally don't get to the bigs for 3-4 seasons (unless you're KC) and when you make the big league squad its because they need you to play. You don't sit on a roster and never log AB for for than maybe a few days.

    Alright...I'll admit I got caught up in the better offer. FF ethics/morals/whatever come into play here :shocking:

     

    I knew that we were going to announce the deal after the first overall pick. I thought I had said something about doing it as long as I didn't receive a better offer...but I guess I didnt say that, I have our emails but I dont remember all what was said and/or confirmed in our IM.

     

    Here is what Im going to do...

     

    I dont want to be shady on you, nor do I want to step on any feet or make myself come out as untrustworthy on these forums cause I like playing FF here. I'll go through with our deal seeing as it was the original and I had already posted it on the board...its the fair thing to do. I DID tell CDub to make his offer yesterday, and his offer WAS alot better then yours...but I'm the one holding the 1.02, it isnt my job to come to him but him to come to me if he wants it.

    Of course it's better, CDub had something to compete with. He didn't seem to compete when there was a notion that he might have to move up to save his player. But once the cards were on the table its easy to ante up or fold.

    I mean, we did have a verbal agreement over email and im and you said to im you back to confirm it. Was there something wrong with the im I sent you yesterday afternoon?

     

    ETA: And technically, we had already agreed on the deal...we were just waiting to announce it.

    I'm not worried about holding this thing up either. Time is really not a worry at all especially with trades that will happen.

     

    The worry is who you can trust to make deals with and what happens offline be counted on to be bond. I am all for making my team better too. I'm certainly glad I didn't get stuck with Dallas...boy that team is going to really suck. :shocking:

    for 1 you traded for the Cards

     

    for 2 we'll have to add that "confirm" to the necessary requirements

     

    for 3 I was asked by you to be involved in this deal so I assume others may have been asked as well and then we'd have had a 3 way fock up with teams making other moves or NOT making other moves based on a trade that they were banking on. Glad I didn't buy in but I'll still be happy to trade with you in the Yahoo when once you hit submit its done.

    If a real GM were to get a better offer before his trade went through would he not take it? I think so :(

    I didn't know Steinbrenner and Boozer moved to Canada. :thumbsup:

    We do need to do something though. We can't have an owner sit on a pick for 3 days waiting for a trade to go through. :thumbsup:

    Or announce his pick as a trade and then change his mind when a better offer comes back :(

    if Eddie George signs with say the Cowboys (for instance) tomorrow, then it becomes a draft war between you and Autumn Wind as to who gets him first and he comes off your exclusives.

     

    The only way you keep this from happening is if you spend a draft pick on him before he signs with another team giving the other owner the opportunity to his rights as well.

    That what I figured :(

     

    I guess I'll run my chances for now and hope the draft moves at a fervish :thumbsup: pace

    Like I said Im going to give Laxboy a chance to up his offer as well seeing as we did have a trade worked out. Im going to the gym and should be back in about an hour or so hopefully I hear from him by then.
