Ronnie Brown. Saints/Vikings game a throw-fest, not a run-fest. The Viks secondary may be weak, but not the front line. Esp if you are "yardage heavy," I don't think PT does it for you this week. Brown & R.Williams, on the other hand, are going against a horrible run D. Both should have good stats. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=369488

W1 agony. Surely, you had Flacco rated pre-draft somewhere between 6-10 and A. Smith rated somewhere between 16-20. I know the Jets are supposed to be this years best D...but I say that the Raven's O-line is good...and that Revis can't cover both Boldin and TJHoush at the same time. I see a lot of Frank Gore TD's in the Seattle game. Don't agonize too much. It's actually a good thing that this is W1. Go with the guy you drafted first. You did that for an obvious reason. Flacco should post good numbers. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=369488

Which 3rd wr to start along Austin/Megatron?
Lake209 replied to sosatyme72's topic in A Little Help!
Ouch. I just advised someone else not to start Berrian against what I believe is a really good Saints D. That being said, and given your other choices, Berrian is your most experienced player, and will be playing in what is being billed as the "higest scoring game of the week." Mmmm...we'll see about that. I have M.Williams-TBAY on my team as well...picked him up very late (you too? and am in wait-and-see mode. I'd put him last on your list here. Maclin and Jones are getting good hype (with good reason) in the pre-season - and both are also in so-called "high-scoring" match-ups this week. I'd wait-and-see on Jones for now though, since Schaub has two other more primary targets to throw to. Something tells me that Maclin might have a really good game...but his relative in-experience makes that no more that a gut-instinct. The safe pick here is Berrian. Maclin a close second. Tough choice, given that it's W1. In order: Breaston, Berrian, Wallace. Wallace has Dixon throwing to him, which is not good, plus, the Steelers will likely run all day. Stash him away for W6, when Ben returns. He should be a very good WR after that. Berrian is a question mark for me leading into the season. He'll probably be inconsistent; great numbers some weeks; sorry numbers the next. This week, he gets the Saints, which (I think) bodes poorly for his stat-line. Breaston is the safe pick here. He's a talent - and should be in a great position to step-up w/the loss of Boldin. Derek Anderson should be looking to hold onto what is probably his last chance to start in the NFL. I expect he'll perform well. Start Breatson w/confidence this week. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=369488

Drafted 6th in a 12-team, PPR format. We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR/TE, and 1 flex RB/WR/TE. QB: Romo (R2); Stafford (R10) RB: SJax (R1); A.Foster (R3); R.Bush (R6); M.Bush (R9) WR: S.Smith-CAR (R4); D. Bowe (R5); Sims-Walker (R7); M. Floyd (R8); J.Knox (R11); Mike Williams-TBAY (R12) DST: Ravens (R13) PK: Buehler (R14) Not the sexiest team in the league - but probably the most consistent.
-
Agree w/the group on the choice of Boldin. However, I don't buy that Revis will be in anything BUT first-rate shape for the game. That being said, there's no way I'd chooze Dez over Boldin - for all of the common reasons you already know. Thanks for mine earlier.
-
Thanks for mine, earlier. I also like Forte's match-up. However, the Bears O-line have me unconvinced that he will do well this year. If I owned him, would be in a wait-and-see mode. Caddy is probably your safest pick here. He should get you 10 points (dep. on format), maybe more. Personally, I'd pull the trigger w/Barber. No Albert Haynesworth (?) + a grudge-match style game. I like him to at least split w/Felix w/several catches and a few attempts at the goalline. He should be very solid.
-
Rice for sure. Mendenhall as your second. I don't think Pitt is going to throw much. He should be a beast. D. Will vs. Stewart (RBBC) too much of a question-mark to start the season. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=369298

Even if you get return yards, with you other RB's, do you ever envision (barring catastrophe) actually starting Leo? Get Hightower over Leo if you still can. I second most of what the others have said as well...Braylon is the first WR I'd drop (for Hightower). I actually think Evans and Gaffney might (I say, "might") be decent in PPR leagues this year...so I wouldn't dump them just yet. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=369298

In PPR, Bush is a no-brainer; start him w/confidence. Based on the responses here on your second pick, why not give you a headache...I like Ricky, against a Bills team that I think is awful. I have no confidence in the Cardinals offense (yet), so would leave THightower out. Caddy is interesting, but the Browns may actually have a defense this year...and I just see Ricky catching more balls... Hope you win. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=369298

MJD, Gore, Turner, Rice. In a Non-PPR, I'd weigh heavily on the back who'll score the most TD's, followed closely by the most yardage. Above is the order I put on that. I'd switch Turner & Rice, IF you get points for yardage after-the-catch.
-
I second a start for Foster, with confidence. Would probably keep PT in too, even against the Vikings D. I have Knox as well and really loved how he started the season last year. His match-up in W1 is great - but I'm in wait-and-see mode on him + Cutler, who looks shaky behind an awful Bears O-line. Keep Knox benched, start Foster, and good luck. #1) Ben Roth (vs. Cleveland) OR Carson Palmer (vs. Houston). I've got Ben in for obvious reasons. For no reason whatsoever: I'm thinking shoot-out in Cincy and I'm thinking that the Steelers run all day. Of course, there's also no reason to think Ben won't throw 3 TD's...and that Cedric Benson will run in 2. Someone please tell me I'm wrong or stupid to sit Ben... #2) The weather forcast in New England looks horrible. Not just light rain, but RAIN, with 20+mph wind. I have Moss. Lovely. However, I also have Steve Smith (Giants) vs. N.Orleans, in their house. Their D is, well...good...Mannings foot, etc. etc. Do I dare bench Moss (per weather) vs a weak-@$$ Titans D? Dying over here...tx.

Torture. How many can you start of the 5?...anyway. Both Holmes and Colston are hard to bench. I love DJax this week too. In order of (my favorite) starts, here are picks: 1) DJax: got McNabb saying this week (after W5 solo catch) that DJax will get the ball thrown his way. 2) Holmes: juicy match-up - but concern that Pitt will run, run, run. 3) Colston: million-dollar talent, million-dollar QB, .10cent matchup vs. Giants. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...p;#entry4085554

I like the insights c9h13no3 on the ycp...interesting. However, I would not ignore the juicy match-up - and I'd start Mendenhall, with confidence. I see the Giants/NO game as being more pass (both teams) than run - ESP on the side of NO. The Pitt game = polar opposite. Cleveland does have a horrible pass D (it's mediocre) but as you know, they can't stop any runner. Pitt pounds the ball all game. If there's a "back-up" factor at all, Mike Bell is healthy again. Willie Parker will play...but they've got him in a boot all week, plus in a special shoe due to the turf toe. He's a non-factor (at least this week). Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...p;#entry4085554

Case of over-thinking. No sweat, I'm doing it this week too...we all do. Start Brees with no hesitation. Don't worry about the past 2 weeks or your other QB's or their match-ups. Brees. I also agree that Miller is favorable vs. Cleveland. Their pass D is actually not in the toilet like their run D is. Miller should benefit. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...p;#entry4085554

Go with what you are already considering; it's the right move. Start J. Finley. Rodgers may (finally) not take 1,234,995 sacks in this game. It's Detroit. He should throw for 300+, 3 scores. Jennings AND Finley AND Driver should benefit. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...p;#entry4085554

In a word: No. Ok, so Mega and his QB are banged up - but you gotta love him down the stretch. Your RB's are already good and I don't think you get better at WR with this trade. Plus, you have DJax. Be patient...McNabb will throw to him (watch on Sunday). Surely, you'll be fine starting Driver this week vs. Detroit! See if you can dump 1 of McCoy or Coffee (not both) to the respective WBrook/Gore owners for a WR2/3. Also, I'd consider seeking out T. Choice and/or F. Jones to cover Barber. You look pretty ok thereafter. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...p;#entry4085554

Ok Fockers, help an elder statesman.. Sit Colston?
Lake209 replied to Woble Eth's topic in A Little Help!
Hey there Woble; I like your style. Funny, I have Steve Smith and Randy Moss also. On the Moss subject, have you seen the weather in Foxborough? Bad news...rain (not drizzle...rain) + 20mph winds. I hope that will change tomorrow...do you EVER bench Moss?? I would start Hines over Colston - both on the DST comparison AND (let's not forget) that MC hasn't really looked like an WR1 so far this year. Ward has, in most of his games. Cleveland's pass D isn't the worst...it's actually middle of the road...which makes me think run, run, run for the Steelers...but Hines should get plenty of balls, all game long. Colston's match-up is bad. Giants D = give up TD's to TE's, not the primary WR's. Go with Ward. My topic is really...all about your topic. Please help: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...p;#entry4085554 -
S. Moss and Ocho = 100%. Of the others, more difficult. Steve Smith should remain a PPR beast, even against NO. I say go with him = more risk, more reward. The more "safe" pick is Housh. Me: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=354251

Normally, I'd say go with your 3 studs...and leave Burleson out, against a still-very-decent Zona D. However (and I have Moss), the weather in Foxborough looks horrible. Rain is 80-100% Wind at 20+mph. I'm dying with whether or not to sit Randy Moss...vs...the Titans....ugh. Anyway, consider the weather when thinking about Welker. If it does end up a downpour+cold+wind, I say go with your other 3. Please: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=354251

L#1: Santana Moss. Yes, the Bronco's D is very good. Yes, so is Champ. Gates is the best receiver in this game. Jason Campbell should be very good. Skins need a win baaadly. Easy pick. L#2: I think that Zona's D isn't bad. I think that NO's is overrated. I love Manning (and Brees) to throw all day long. S. Smith is my pick. Don't know if he'll score a TD, but I think he's an 8 (low) to 12 (high..very high) PPR beast in this game. Mine, please: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=354251

I think you'd be getting a serious upgrade at WR, while losing out a little bit at RB. I'm of the opinon that LT is just not going to be "LT" again. Ricky is much better in PPR...but ok, he's a decent flex in most weeks, RB2 every-week if Brown were to get hurt. IF there's another DST out there you can pick up on waivers and IF you need WR help, I say make the trade. And...Vick? Ha ha...funny... Mine, if you please: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=354251

I second that, even with CJ's injury, even with Stafford banged up. Turner and Calvin, 100% Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=354251

It's wierd to say (x2) because the Panters run-D is awful AND Caddy is, well...playing...and playing at a high level. He is your safest pick, for sure. [To add: I like Holt THIS week as well.] Me: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=354251
