    R Wilson = ROY

    This. Wilson as ROY makes no sense at all - he has a ton of support on that team and while he has played beyond AMAZING based on where he was drafted, he did not play as well as either of the other two. I do not see how RG3 cannot win it. What he did this year was nothing short of amazing. Luck will make up for that with multiple MVP awards 3-4 years from now, but this was RG3's year.
  2. Just to play devil's advocate (since I mostly agree with the Luck defenders in this thread), I believe that Luck did have much better receivers to throw to than either RG3 or Wilson. It makes a difference - ask Aaron Rodgers who has little running game support and a terrible OLine, took the most sacks in the league and yet still manages to do decently well. A big reason why RG3 and Wilson didn't have more passing yards is simply because they did not have the WRs to support that kind of offense. Luck's first year reminds me a lot of Manning's rookie year. He went out and learned how to be a NFL QB. Manning didn't win ROY either. RG3 and Wilson had amazing years, but also relied a lot on their athleticism to carry them through, and we all know that is not enough to play QB at an elite level in the NFL. Bottom line though, I'd take Luck going forward over any of the other rookie QBs without question.

    RG3 = the new McNabb?

    She hasn't gotten to you yet? Where ya been hiding out?

    Shanahan

    Looks like it is a possible ACL and they are flying him to Miami for a second opinion. Shanahan says they want to clarify and distinguish from old injuries. Wow, if it is an ACL tear and RG3 is not ready to go for next season due to this foolishness... ###### is going to hit the fan in DC

    RG3 = the new McNabb?

    Rofl. Lackman, maybe in the off season you can hold a clinic in subtle trolling. Seriously.

    You do realize who you are talking too right? There is no bigger blind and idiot homer.

    RG3 = the new McNabb?

    All the examples I saw were absolutely related to RG3's injury. He can't run any more? stop bothering to defend the run and the option and shut down everything else. He can't maneuver and throw the ball properly - blitz him. I mean, duh - its not exactly rocket science is it? The game was 14-0 after the first quarter, RG3 got hurt and then the game became lopsided in Seattle's favor. Now all the sudden they are getting good field position off of 3 and outs and turnovers, and the offense gets it going. How can you be intellectually honest and NOT say that the game didn't turn on Griffin's injury??

    RG3 = the new McNabb?

    Rofl, so you are telling me that the "adjustments" they made were to take advantage of an injured and ineffective QB. Son, you are just proving the point they got handed the game after RG3 got hurt.

    RG3 = the new McNabb?

    Linking to 3rd party sources that are just as delusional as you doesn't help make your case. Its not hard to play defense against a QB that can't throw, run or even pick up the ball of the ground. Just ask the Packers who got a freebie this week too. Sometimes all it takes to win is just to hang in there and not fock it up - and that is what the Buzzards did this week. I mark is as fate that the gods are setting up a redemption rematch between Green Bay and Seattle.

    Which NFL team has the worst fans?

    On this particular forum, in this particular year, I'd go with Seahawk fans

    R Wilson = ROY

    And then he continued to lead his team to win out the season with 7 in a row and win a very competitive division. The ROY vote is not even going to be remotely close. Luck and Wilson both had incredible seasons and may both very well end up with more long term success than RG3, but this season you have to give it to him.

    Shanahan

    I don't think that is true at all - I'm a huge RG3 fan, but he was not effective at all after the first quarter and it seemed obvious just about anyone else in there at QB would have been a better choice.

    RG3 = the new McNabb?

    He's been playing hurt for weeks though - and was not 100% during the first quarter either but still played effectively. I don't see any QB playing through the injuries he had aside from maybe Big Ben.

    RG3 = the new McNabb?

    RG3 slammed his hand into a helmet early on too which I don't think did him any favors. Then he had the play where he ran to the sidelines and went down awkwardly, barely limped back into the huddle (looking like he had no business being out there) and threw a TD pass on the next play... and the 'hawks took a cheap shot at him at the end of the play and got called for roughing. He really looked like he should have come out of the game at that point but instead they pulled him into the shack and I'm guessing gave him a painkiller. He couldn't even plant his leg to make a proper throw, let alone move around and protect himself. Hell, the play he finally came out on was just a bad snap where he tried to reach down and pick the ball up off the ground - the defense didn't even touch him and he went down. Garcon was knocked out of the game too, which didn't help his passing options any.

    Explain this to me

    Its baffling to me how they can even justify naming a pro bowl team before the season is even done - not only is it primarily a popularity contest, its only based on the first half of the season (and the previous season really). Look at the first 8 weeks of stats and its less surprising that Dez isn't in there but Cruz and Jones are. Dez is at least making his case for next year The only way I can think of someone like Saturday making the team is that there really are no premier Centers in the NFC - there must not have been much of a consensus among the coaches and players so they were spread out among a lot of different players while the fan's vote being concentrated on one particular person made a big difference.

    2011 vs. 2012 Packers

    Speaking of Saturday, one of our 3 pro bowlers this year... I didn't realize they gave out pro bowl nominations to guys that are on the second string. Is the NFC that hard up for centers?

    MJD next year

    I wouldn't take him in the 2nd, I'd be aiming more towards the 4th. Even at the start of the season when he was healthy, he was not playing great.

    Doug Martin is average

    The whole Bucs offense seems to have hit the wall in the latter part of the season. This Bucs team in general has been all over the map for he last few years and because of that it would be hard for me to trust Martin as a stud RB1. He'll get his numbers overall, but I don't think the consistency will be too great.

    MJD next year

    Isn't he on the record this year saying that he will play out with no complaints? Obviously another hold out changes a lot, but he is not in a very good negotiating position at this point.

    MJD next year

    I will be very curious what his ADP is next year. A lot will likely have to do with what happens with the team in the off season and how people feel about the team overall. If its a repeat of 2012, no one is going to want to touch him even if he looks healthy.

    2011 vs. 2012 Packers

    The secondary has been amazing this year, even with all the young players - they had some rough patches early on, but have held up remarkably well. Williams and Shields look like they did in 2010. Woodson was never really missed and may very be a backup safety for the playoffs (which would have been considered insane at the start of the season). That secondary is going to be good for a long time. Its crazy that they are starting to find a running game now with their RB1 and RB2 both hurt - although that may have as much to do with the OLine adjustments. They definitely seem ready to roll this year. As long as Clay is healthy... that guy... they look like a completely different defense when he is playing. Outside of Rodgers, he is the second most valuable player out there.

    My Annual playoff predictions

    A Seattle vs. GB playoff game would be the highlight of the season for me - here's hoping!

    Players you'll never draft again

    Mathews and Cruz - ugg. Graham too - not that he was terrible, and stats may even show him as the #1 TE at the end of the season, but there is not enough consistency there for a high round pick.
