Trade Veto Help (will answer back)

Good trade in my opinion. Can't get any points on a bye week. Its that owners opinion that he will be better off with Jeffrey and Ellington and its easy to make an argument for him. People might disagree, but its not awful. I feel like if I accept the trade I have been offered for Bell people in my league will be in an uproar just like yours, but I need to make the playoffs. Check out my situation http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=440592
  2. How many RBs does your league start. You have plenty of RBs that seem like they would produce at Ryan Mathews level. AP is fresh and motivated. I would make the trade, but its a risk. The gamble could pay off big though with small downside of having to play one of your other guys instead of mathews. I think your other RBs are just as good as Mathews so its low risk. Good luck with the decision. Here's my dilemma http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=440592
  3. Here's the situation: I have Leveon and was offered hopkins, morris, and robinson. We are a fairly standard scoring PPR league. We start 2 RB 2 WR 1 Flex. I'm 5-5 this week trying to make the playoffs. 10 team league 4 team playoff. Playoffs start in week 15. Here's my team: Bell RB Jennings RB Forsett RB Blue RB Hilton WR White WR Floyd WR Reed TE Donnell TE The team offering the trade is in first place, so I responded that I wouldn't make the deal this week. I would be open to making it next week(Leveon is on a bye), and he seemed amiable to that as well. I think with Leveon not playing and all other players finished with their byes, I should make the trade. I'd like some other opinions though. Just trying to sound out the possiblities. Note I am most concerned with making the playoffs what happens after that is bonus.

That blocked punt call was crap

I can't believe how many people think what happened on that play was ok. You do not get rewarded for having your punt blocked. The solution to this problem is very simple. If a punt crosses the line of scrimmage and is touched by the receiving team it should be considered a fumble by the kicking team. This would prevent the situation that happened last night. Undoubtedly the KC player didn't think they would lose the ball if he tried to pick it up because even if San Diego recovered they wouldn't have been across the first down marker. This automatic first down is stupid. If it had been 4th and 1 when KC blocked the punt, the KC guy would have most probably just jumped on it to stop San Diego from getting a new set of downs.
  5. I have both of them, and with Darrel Jackson's turf toe I am planning to start them both. I have the option of using B. Berrian, but I'd prefer to roll my dice with the Saints. I'm hoping that at least one of them snag a td and if the winds blow right they could grab mutiple. Good luck with your decision. If I had to pick one, I'd start Colston. Brees looks to him more than anyone else.
  6. Seconded. Congrats to Reggie Bush. Now if he stops bouncing every run outside maybe the Saints can have a running back by committee that will be feared.

    Trade Drama

I don't agree with most of the opinions here. Even if your league allows vetoes it seems to be that each owner should look at the trade and decide if its fair or not. The trade was skewed one way, but was by no means ridiculous. I am under the impression that the trade was vetoed because the offending owner contacted the other owners and told them of the pending trade between with the first place team for barber. That smacks of collusion to me. The other owners vetoed the deal not on its merit, but for something that would happen later. Thats horsesh@t. The commish should force the trade through if it is certain that they offending owner contacted the other teams to help get a veto.

A Northerner's Perception of Southern Culture

I'm not too sure about this thread. I think when people think of the South they think its all the same. They lump some or most of these states all together: Florida, Georgia, Carolinas, Tenesse, Kentucky, Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas. In my experience Texas and Florida are unto themselves. I like Texas because its fun to harass all the bigger and better Texans. Most of the values meals are Texas size instead of upsize or large size. Nothing like getting shat @ass drunk and harassing some Texans. Floridians themselves are boring. In fact they are actually hard to find. I suppose they exist, but I've been to Florida quite often and haven't met too many. Irregardless they have so many people retired down their from so many different places that anything resembling the South is long gone. Next is Louisiana. Louisiana has its on division. You could pretty much cut the state in half. At the bottom you would have the Cajuns and at the top you have Rednecks. I can't really explain the difference, but its the differences are generally as stark as the differences between Northerners and Southerners. If you've ever heard Jake Delhomme talk it doesn't get much more Cajun than him. The rest of those states don't have as much experience with. I generally lump them together, but thats probably just do to ignorance. If anyone has more experience they can break down the other states. Summary: Texas - Bigger and Better Florida - Retire here Louisiana - Don't go to the Northern parts(Boring as sh@#) Oh yeah obviously I'm from South Louisiana

Any Chance Atlanta Layed Down For Game

Are you serious dfin13. Shut the fock up. It didn't matter if everyone in the Superdome was from Green Bay. A lot of the people that lost their houses also lost their jobs. New Orleans obviously has a large tourism industry, and it has taken a big hit. It is massively important to NO that the tourism industry gets back on track. It will feed the city's finances and eventually give them some revenue to work with so that they might help build houses or give loans or whatever. Sure if you gave people a choice between a Saints win and a home they would choose a home. No duh. You can't say that having events in New Orleans is second banana though. If New Orleans has no events, they will have no jobs. On a more positive note. Go Saints. Atlanta didn't feel bad about losing, but I don't care. Fred Thomas and Mike McKenzie played man on those crappy WR's and dominated them all night long and the rest of defense stopped the run. No one is hating on the Colts because they got a special teams TD, and they only beat Jacksonville by a TD. This game was nowhere near that close. They got a cheap TD, but they played defense well and held Atlanta down.

    20. Oh, speaking of next Monday's Saints-Falcons matchup, I'd like to humbly propose a pregame intro feature to the good folks over at ESPN television. Why not have Atlanta running back Warrick Dunn give a free house to Reggie Bush's parents? It seems like a no-brainer to me.

    $5,000 CC/DB Survivor Pool

I toyed with the idea of picking the Jets over Buffalo. I feel like the win by Buffalo was much more about how bad Culpepper is and not how good Buffalo is. I still might make this pick in fact, but right now I'm seeing smart money on Philadelphia. Obivously this assumes Baltimore is gone. I think the 49ers are getting better, but they really aren't of the good teams.
