  1. I prefer Cook, Henry, or McDonald. McDonald seems to be lasting the longest and there are a lot of targets up for grabs in that offense.

I just don't like the way my RB/WR depth looks drafting a TE like Kittle in the 3rd round in mocks.

  2. You don't really give us enough information (League size, starting lineup, bench spots, scoring system) to make a credible argument for another player.

But 80% of Todd Gurley is about as good as Conner was and there's potential for more from Gurley. Also potential for a lot less. David Johnson is a better receiver than Conner and has no one to push him for touches. So take DJ. There may be WR depth, but depth WR tend to be rather inconsistent from week to week. DeAndre Hopkins is the alpha dog for the Texans and will put up consistent numbers week to week that you won't get from your 4th round WR. I'd rather have Hopkins in round 1 and Carson in Round 4 than Conner in Round 1 and Kenny Golladay or Brandin Cooks in Round 4.

  3. I do it a fair bit but computerized. I think I fall into a trap of "oh this guy always falls at this pick" and then in my real draft that doesn't happen. I think I'd be better off doing the mocks against real people to improve the unpredictability.

The person making the terrible trade offer is the jerk.  If you waste someone else's time, don't get mad when they waste yours.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Does it really waste your time to decline a trade offer? It takes what 5 seconds? I dunno, I get that everyone thinks their time is more important than everyone else's, it just seems like people overreact to a lot of stuff these days. I guess maybe I'm just oversensitive since I've had trade offers shunned that didn't seem that ridiculous to me. Seems like communicating what you do or do not like about the offer is better than just turning your nose in the air and telling yourself how much better than the other person you are.

  5. I don't think I want to draft him before the 5th round. Maybe mid to late 4th. There's just way too many warning flags for me to want to rely on him as a guy that will carry my team. His attitude is terrible, he's getting older, he's missed time with injuries. I think I would take all of Evans, Hilton, Thielen, and Allen ahead of him.

  6. I don't think that's a particularly valid comparison. I don't blame people for trying to get a good deal or trying to find the idiot in a public league. Everyone values players differently, there's no reason to be a jerk about things. But that's the way the world is going these days I guess. The anonymity of the internet breeds asshattery.

  7. I don't really understand people getting worked up over bad trade offers. People make trade offers trying to improve their team, not yours. If you think it's terrible, decline it. If you want to see how much the guy wants Hopkins, counter offer. But ignoring it or countering with your 22nd round pick for their first rounder seems sort of pointless and petty to me. If you react poorly to things like this I think you end up missing out on some good deals.

  8. I don't really understand this question. In round 1 everything is a position of need isn't it? You draft the player you think is going to give you the biggest advantage, which is going to depend on how comfortable you are with mid tier WR and RB in rounds 5-8 or so. If you like the mid round RB more than you like the mid round WR you take a RB and WR with your first two picks. If you like the WR in rounds 5-8 more than the RB you grab a pair of RB with your first two picks.

Wow I would find it hard to trust Eifert from that list.

I don't trust him either, but in Yahoo he's the 17th TE off the board and a 13th round pick. You probably don't have to trust him at that point to find some value. And if he doesn't turn out, you find someone else.

  10. It really depends on  value for me. Guys I'm looking at would be Cook, Henry, Howard, McDonald, and Eifert, all depending on when they're available.

  11. For me I think it depends on scoring system (0, 0.5, 1 ppr) and where I'm drafting. In a ppr or partial ppr league if I have a top 4 pick I'm likely taking one of the RBs, and I may well double down on a second RB in the 2nd round. But if I'm picking 5-8th, I think I'd rather have one of Hopkins/Adams/Thomas/Jones and pair him with a RB or two in rounds 2 and 3.

Yes, the end of season numbers from some of the 6-10th round WR will be good, but the way they get those numbers will be quite volatile from week to week.

  12. I think the three tightends are a bit too high. I know the position was a bit of a wasteland this year, but you only need 1 TE in most leagues while you need multiple RBs/WRs. Picking a TE that early is nice, but it really hurts your RB/WR depth. I'd bump Kelce down to end of round 2 and move Ertz to the end of round 3 with Kittle.

I'd move Dalvin Cook up. I'd definitely rather have him than Leonard Fournette.

I'd rather have Chubb than Mixon in non-ppr.

I think the QBs are ranked too high. In a 12 team league that starts 1 QB/2 RB/3 WR/1 TE/1 Flex/K/Def I'm not drafting a QB until at least the sixth round and probably not until I have 3 RB and 4 WR, so like round 8. It doesn't make sense with all the late round/free agent value at QB. It's like TE (you only need 1) but unlike TE there are plenty of QBs to go around.

  13. The issue with Total Points is that things get decided really early. I see it all the time in my baseball league, and it would have happened the last two years in football too.

With H2H there's always a chance if you make the playoffs for something cool to happen.

Imo, the best way to handle things is to split the prize money (if that's a part of your league) between most points and H2H championship winner. With other prizes as you see fit (H2H runner up, consolation bracket winner, etc).

  14. This is a bit tough for me, since I play in 0.75 ppr and a 2 QB league. Not to mention keepers. That pack of 7 running backs seems about right, although I think the order will change from draft to draft based on people's preference/fandom.

Mahomes is probably too early for me, even in a 2 QB league. You can get good, reliable QBs later and you'll passing up a ton of RB/WR reliability going with Mahomes in round 1.

I think Conner sneaks up into end of round 1/beginning of round 2 and I'd still take AB over Julio and Davante Adams. I'd also much prefer Nick Chubb to Leonard Fournette.

No way do I take any of Rodgers/Rothlesberger/Goff in Round 4 ahead of Brees/Wilson/Luck/Rivers/Watson. I don't think they're that much better than the other five guys to justify the price tag. QB is deep as heck.

Seems like another year where I want 2 early RBs b/c I don't want to spend a 4th rounder on A. Jones/Ingram/Howard/Michel and I definitely don't want to spend a 3rd rounder on Henry, although that's probably my ppr bias talking.
