    Combine WR & TE positions?

Just make sure to fill in the TE scoring the same as WR on the scoring tab, and then don't fill in starters or backups under the TE position.

I was never a big fan of colored tabs but someone showed me that and think I'm a bit of a convert.

    Player Tab - comparing players

The player tab is pretty much a stand-alone. It pulls info from other tabs but doesn't change anything on other tabs and send its info / comparison data anywhere else. It is limited to 2 players.

    Owners and Team Names

Hi LT. At the top of the draft report tab is a drop down where you can switch from owner to team. Check your draft report tab looks right after you make the switch.

    Auction League Drafting

Hi Howie. I know, it can be tough to keep up at times. Remember if the nominating team gets the player then you don't have to fill in the winning bidder team. Buddy assumes that is the winning bidder team unless otherwise selected. Also, late in the draft, when most players for $1, you can insert a 1 in a bunch of those winning bid amount cells all at once (even in advance). Did you know CTRL-X drafts or nominates a player? CTRL-Z undoes a pick. Or I have that backwards, but either way you might find using those shortcut keys faster than the Nominate Player button. I'll be honest, late in an auction I might abandon Buddy too, to a degree. My auction leagues are online on ESPN, so a lot to keep track of between Buddy and watching the ESPN site. In the late stages, when I only have a half dozen roster spots left and not much money, I'll make a short list of players I want. I might even type them on the auction report tab to the right of the big table. Then I won't track the rest of the auction, but just make sure someone doesn't take someone off my short list. If they do add someone else. Those are some of my tips for auction drafts. Does that help? What have you got?

How To Leverage Draft Buddy In Espn Drafts

Hi rsekine. Tried to answer this earlier but the forums went glitchy on me at the time. I think you should use the DB rankings and tiers based on the FF Today projections. I think no matter what site your league runs on, they are going to have default rankings or ADP readily available while you and other owners in your league draft, and they will influence the picks. That data tends to be a little outdated from what I've seen, and if a bunch of people are influenced by it then that just leaves better choices for you. You can to a degree compare the two lists and use it to your advantage. Say ESPN lists Brandin Cooks around WR25, but DB has him inside the top 20, then you know you can usually wait a little longer for him. Don't try to get too cute though or you'll just straight miss out on players you really want. Hope that helps.

    Draft Buddy 2015 Version 1.2 - Projections Updated: 9/8

The schedule says Sept 8th, so that would be the Tuesday morning after Labor Day. Unless there is a big surprise, we usually have a pretty good handle on the fantasy impact of large majority of players prior to these final cuts, so not sure there will be an earlier update short of that big surprise cut or news item.

    ++ Draft Buddy 2015 Version 1.2 - Projections Updated 9/8 ++

Hey, did you hear Tom Brady got his suspension overturned? That makes for our second projection update in the same day. Now updated, hit Update Projections again and you should find Brady right around the 11th spot at QB give or take based on your league scoring system.

    Draft Buddy 2015 Version 1.2 - Projections Updated: 9/8

9/3 update is done. Not too many big moves, RB Fred Jackson, TE Julius Thomas down, QB Sam Bradford, QB Kirk Cousins up and a few other changes. Updated depth charts and ADP, too.

    Setting up custom league scoring

How about 1 per 25 and a +2 bonus for a 100+ yard rushing or receiving game.

    Edit Keepers

Hi supastars. Easy solution - yes. Keepers must cost a draft pick. When you input keepers and select the draft pick, what Buddy does is copy the player to that pick on the draft report tab. To remove the player, find him in the draft report tab and highlight position and player, and hit the Delete button or choose Edit > Clear Contents. That should do it. Of course if you are inputting a new keeper in the same spot (draft pick) as the old this won't even be necessary. But typically a different keeper would be a different draft pick, I suppose. One thing to keep in mind - you should set the "reset draft picks" option to "no" as well, so it doesn't get wiped out when you Compile Cheatsheets again.

    Setting up custom league scoring

Hi Josh. Glad to have you back again this year. The distance scoring TD is pretty straight forward. Input 6 points in the regular pass TD scoring. Then put 3 in the 20-29 and 30-39 lines in the pass TD distance scoring, and 6 for each range after that. Any tiered yardage scoring is going to be tough to get exactly, because as you know we don't have yardage on a per game basis, and taking an average isn't the answer either. What we can do is try to approximate as close as we can to your scoring, and in your case I kind of wonder about giving zero points in the regular yardage scoring, and just using the 300+ yard game scoring category. If we assign, say, 8 fantasy points for every 300+ yardage game, then it will score more points for games the QB lands in the 300-349 range, but make up for games where they should have had 4 for hitting 250-300. Over 350 is pretty rare (for one QB to do it multiple times), and not even sure we'd want a 400+ yard game to factor into the rankings. If you drop in 8 or 9 fantasy points for a 300+ yard game, and run the Compile Cheatsheets, what do you think about the fantasy scoring? Does it seem pretty reasonable to your league's historical scoring? We don't project 2 points converts... although I guess they could be a little more prevalent this season. Similar method as above for the other positions.

    ++ Draft Buddy 2015 Version 1.2 - Projections Updated 9/8 ++

Just posted an unscheduled projection update. Mike K. adjusted for Martavis Bryant and Markus Wheaton, bumped Cobb down slightly based on preliminary (i.e. not very much info) from his injury last night, plus his gut was telling him to move Forte down a bit.

    Draft Allocation settings for Projections

News and situation can change quite a bit from one year to the next, not to mention rookies can have a big impact immediately, so I would think you would want at least some influence from the current year projections that reflect these things. A pro for the weighted average of prior year stats - may help you identify some players that are trending up but are still under the radar by the fantasy community.

    Keepers not working

It does copy them over and mark them off and update the rosters tab. Did you input keepers for all of the teams, or just one? Sometimes people get a little confused with the columns aligned for each team. Should be position first, then player name, then two white (no highlight) cells for team and bye that fill in automatically after you input position and player. Then the draft pick column after that. And, as mentioned, you need to select the pick last.

    Draft Allocation settings for Projections

I use 100% FF Today or 100% my own projections. The features to add other projections and do a weighted average are in there because numerous users really like the ability to do that, but I will admit I don't actually use it. I suppose I originally developed it because I thought I would! Ha ha. That was a long time ago.

    Keepers not working

Hi Todd. It should have put them over there automatically, but you had to pick the draft pick last (otherwise, it wouldn't know what to copy). Try one again, by changing the draft pick to the top blank selection. Then select the same pick again. See if that works. Check the draft report tab the player went to the right spot, and then the cheatsheets and rosters should update. You can put them directly on the draft report tab, too, if you like. The keepers tab saves you scrolling through that long tab. One thing to do after you have the keepers in, go to the action tab and change both reset options to "no". Otherwise if you Compile Cheatsheets again it will wipe out the keepers you input. Good luck tomorrow!

    Projection Pal Now Available

That is pretty much it. You won't see any N/As in Draft Buddy after hitting Copy to Compiler, because Buddy should remove them, but an easy way to see if a player didn't copy over is to look for blank rows going up and down. The players are usually in pretty much rank order, so the higher up a blank row, the more likely the player got missed. On the name changes tab in Pal is a list of players whose names will be found and changed automatically. I don't remember if ODB is in the list but you could certainly add him in there. About the only way you could add more sets of projections is to copy them over prior year stats sections.

    Projection Pal Now Available

Just went up! Check back to the download page where you get Draft Buddy, scroll down a little bit and you'll see the link. Hmm... looks like I have a couple of video at my YouTube Channel for importing projections into Pal for baseball, but not for football. If you watch the baseball video, you'll get the tips, tricks and potential pitfalls to avoid using Pal, but maybe I should add one for football. Someone make a request of projections they'd like to see imported into Draft Buddy via Pal, and I'll see what I can do to demonstrate with a video.

    Problem with Keeper Draft Order

Hi bdat13. So you have the draft order input correctly on the owners tab? That is odd it is backwards, but try this: go to the draft report tab, and if the drop-down at the top currently says serpentine, then switch it to straight. Wait a second for it to update. Then switch it back to serpentine. Or, if it happens to be a straight draft, do the opposite. Let me know if that does the trick.

    Projection Pal Now Available

Hi emerlin. Pal will remove the rookie symbol automatically from the Clean tab after you hit the Copy to Compiler button so the players match up with your Raw tab data. No reason to add it to your Raw data, or remove it from anywhere.

    Projections?

Nice thing about them is they have an Excel export so easy to copy the players into Projection Pal.
