    Fair trade for Fitz?

You like Celek better than Shockey or Boss. All will go between $5-15. If I re-bid on Gates he will cost $35-40. Winslow I am guessing $25?

    Fair trade for Ginn

Been offered the 1.14 pick in the rookie draft for Ginn. This is a dynasty, PPR league. Ginn is my 3rd WR (start 3), but I am not comfortable starting him. Veteran WRs in the free agent auction pool include Santana Moss, Tori Holt, & Walter. Do I stick with him? If I take the pick, who is likely to be there at 14 in the rookie draft? I would take the best available. I may be able to get Cedric Benson and Mark Clayton for Ginn also. I am trying to fill my roster with players. Is this a better deal for Ginn than the 1.14 pick?

    Fair trade for Ginn

Accepted Benson, Mark Clayton & 3.07 rookie draft for Ginn & J. Harrison
  4. I feel Saints and Cards are already there and the Packers are real close. After this potentials are Atlanta, Detroit, and Buffalo. Cleveland and Cincinatti are also darkhorses. Unlike many, I do not see the Rams as having the potential.

    Market value for Gates?

On face value, is Berrian and Owen Daniels fair for Gates?

    Drop Gates?

Here is my team in a 14-team, standard scoring, PPR dynasty league. Start 1 QB, 1 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 2 R/W/T, D & K Campbell, Jason WAS QB - $11.00 Manning, Peyton IND QB - $50.00 Benson, Cedric, CIN RB - $9.00 Ward, Derrick TBB RB - $2.00 Wright, Jason ARI RB - $2.00 Clayton, Mark BAL WR - $14.00 Ward, Hines PIT WR - $28.00 Welker, Wes NEP WR - $71.00 Gates, Antonio SDC TE - $49.00 Watson, Ben NEP TE - $1.00 Eagles, Philadelphia PHI Def - $5.00 1.01 Rookie draft - $60.00 likely N. Moreno, DEN 3.07 Rookie draft - $1 ------------------------------------------- 22 roster spots max Total Salary: $303.00 Salary Cap: $400.00 I have a lot of salary cap room for free agency auction. Some of the players available so far are (RBs) Lynch, Addai, Bradshaw, McGahee, Maroney, Lewis (WRs) Santana Moss, Walter, Holt, Burress, Matt Jones (TEs) Scaife, Alex Smith, Boss, Shockey, Winslow Do I drop Gates' huge salary and pick up a cheaper TE or TEs and get Lynch and Addai along with a few bigger named WRs or just stick with him. I could also drop him and rebid on him, hoping that I can get him below the $49 I am paying now??? Also, any sleepers that may be a steal in the 3rd round of the rookie draft? New to this rookie draft thing.

    Drop Gates?

One such contract was $88 for Braylon Edwards! Their is no penalty for adding a player via trade then dropping him during off season (which is super bowl to beginning of free agency period in Aug) The penalty for dropping a player in season (free agency period to super bowl) is that your cap gets deducted by 1/3 of that players salary rounded up to the nearest $. I thought about making a trade for an ugly contract then dropping him prior to free agency but my roster is so thin. I have to ensure I can field a squad. I bought this team that was abandoned. When I got it it had a bunch of overpriced veterans (Portis $90 & Lewis $47 to name a few) and zero 2009 draft picks.

This is what I am hoping for.

    Drop Gates?

Ya, the deal did not go thru. There is really no interest in Gates. One teal wants him but wants to unload horrible contracts in return. This is why I either keep him and hope he plays like a WR or drop him and attempt to get him cheaper in the FA auction or go after a cheaper TE (Winslow, Boss, Shockey)

    Would you do this trade?

I ended up doing the trade. I hope I did not make a big mistake. The way I figure is if Clayton can come close to what Ginn puts up and Benson could surprise and be a 1000 yard RB, I did good. Bit I can easily see Benson being a bust and Clayton being Clayton while Ginn breaks out. Any suggestions for sleepers at the 3.07 pick? What about that RB that Cincy drafted now that I have Benson?

    Drop Gates?

I like Gates too, but at $49! Witten is $42 and Gonzalez is $32 and they are the only TEs close to him in salary. Thanks for the input.

    Drop Gates?

He is pretty valuable in a PPR league, don't you think? I know $71 is a lot, but Moss is $89, Fitz is $90, etc. We have to start 3 WR with 2 flex spots in a PPR league so WRs are premium.

    Outlook for Ginn, Jr?

Knowing that I have Ginn on the block, I got offered Cedric Benson, Mark Clayton and pick 3.07 in the rookie draft for Ginn and Jerome Harrison. Would you do this. My only RBs as of now are D. Ward and Moreno (assuming I take him with 1.01). I also have alot of $ for free agency. We start 1-3 rbs.

    Outlook for Ginn, Jr?

Do I keep him as a 3rd WR in a standard-PPR dynasty league or should I try to get a low first to high second round pick in the rookie draft for him? His salary is not a determining factor.

    Fair trade for Fitz?

Is Ginn for the 1.14 pick in the rookie draft or Ginn for Benson & Mark Clayton a good deal or do I sit tight with Ginn as my 3rd WR?

    Fair trade for Fitz?

FA TE's include Shockey, Boss, Heap. So is Fitz and one of these guys better than Ward and Gates?

    Fair trade for Fitz?

As my last reply said, Gates contract of $49 is $17 more than the 2nd highest paid TE (Gonzalez). While I hate losing Gates, I can get the best WR in FF and a cheap but servicable TE from FA auction (Boss, Shockey, Heap, or Celek). Big step down from Gates, but big salary relief and Fitz gets teamed with Welker in a PPR dynasty league. Just a thought?

    Fair trade for Fitz?

Thanks for all the insight man! My first option would be Ward and Gates, then I would do it for sure. While Fitz' contract is huge, he can win games for me. Gates' contract of $9 is highest for a TE by $17!!! Gonzalez is $32! This is a team that I bought this year and am trying to rebuild. Previous owner had no 2009 draft picks and no salary cap room before I took over a few weeks ago. I hear you about him throwing in the 1.02 pick in the deal but I already have the 1.01 pick. 1.01=$60 and 1.02=$56. While I would love to have Moreno and Crabtree, this would be a lot of my salary on two rookies. Plus, if they blowup their salaries would max out much higher. I would rather have Fitz-although his contract is high, he is the top player at his position and his salary will not increase. Even if I get Fitz, I will have $ to get Lynch or Addai in the FA auction and a solid WR like Santana Moss and Walter. A lot more bigger names will be in the pool by the auction too. I have not dropped Lewis' $47 salary yet. If I do not get Fitz, I will be happy with A LOT of $ to spent at the FA auction. Thanks!

    Free ESPN leagues

    Nope, all there for free

    Free ESPN leagues

Yes, it does save the previouos years' history. I have managed a league on ESPN for three years now. I and the other 11 owners love the site. It also gives you keeper options. And I am usually very skeptical of the 4 letter network.

    Rookie draft rankings

Where can I get fantasy rankings for rookies. I, myself am a rookie dynasty owner and have never taken art in a rookie draft. I have the first pick. Is Moreno the consensus #1?
  22. #1LionFan

    Outlook for Ginn, Jr?

Would you trade Ginn for Mark Clayton and the 2.07 pick in the rookie draft? Standard-PPR league.

    Rookie draft rankings

I hear you about trading it, but I got this pick by trading Portis b/c he was a huge salary hit. Would you turn around and try to trade the 1.01. If so, maybe down to the middle rounds and get Wells, McCoy, Harvin and get a good RB or WR out of the deal?

    Would you make a move?

Bought a team and contemplating some moves. Out of a $400M cap, P.Manning (50), Jamal Lewis (47), Portis (90), and Gates (49) takes up much of this cap room. Some are untradable due to salary hit. We start 1 RB/2 WR/3 flex positions. The previous owner traded the entire 3 rounds of the 2009 rookie draft. What type of draft pick could I get for any of the above players? I could also offer Ginn, Jr. or Hinds Ward. Also, if no one wants to trade, would you consider dropping Lewis, or even Manning or Gates into the FA pool and get McNabb or Romo much cheeper? Thanks, leave your link for me!

    Would you make a move?

Would you give Portis at $90 up for the first pick in the rookie draft, which would cost me $60.? My current RBs are Portis-90, D. Ward-2, Lewis-47, Harrison-1, and J. Wright-2. We can start anywhere from 1-3 RBs and 3-5 WRs. I only have Welker-71, H, Ward-28 and Ginn, Jr-14 at WR. My only other notable players that are working against my salary cap is P. Manning-50, J. Campbell-11, and Gates-47. If I drafted N. Moreno or Wells this would save me $30 as compared to Portis . I think I could still drop Lewis saving me another $47. This would put me approx. $90 under the cap to go after some decent RBs available on free agency such as Lynch, Addai, E. Graham & WRs such as S. Moss, Walter, and/or Holt amoung others. I think keeping Portis gives me a better chance to win now but getting Moreno could be big.
