A guy that wants my D I guess!

    Trade advice

Bryant's salary is $50. Kind of high I think but good pairing with Welker. FA WR include Santana Moss, Walter, Holt, Bennett, and a lot of other lower end, sleepers, etc

    Outlook for Clayton?

No, I bought the team this year and have never been in a salary cap or dynasty league before. Just looking for helpful hints. We have a while to before the FA pool gets finalized so I can be patient.

    Outlook for Clayton?

Trying to decide if I am going to keep Mark Clayton before we have to finalize our cuts before FA auction and rookie draft. Roster and league info is below. Clayton takes up $14 of my $400 cap. Probably worth the gamble huh? What kind of #'s do you see him putting up this year?

    Auction strategy

Plus, I am thinking of dropping Gates. I can rebin on him and I think I have a shot to get him cheaper than $49. If not then he is someone else's problem. Winslow, Boss and Shockey are also available. I have not thought about dumping Ward until you mentioned it. He is hard to gauge at $28, but can still post 70 catches and 1000 yds. I agree somewhat about Campbell. As far as the 1.01 pick, I could probably move him but only to a team who has salary cap room. At $60, Moreno will be worth in in a year or two if he develops into a monster back. Don't know that I like Addai much except for a flex play, and he will likely get bid for higher than a typical flex play. Thanks

    Auction strategy

As you can see from my roster below I have a ton of cap space and a lot of holes to fill. One place I am good at is QB. However, McNabb, Romo, and Hasselbeck are available in the upcoming FA auction. Since I have a lot more cap space than any other owner, do I bid on any of these to use as future trade-bait or just worry about filling my roster with the best RBs and WRs available (Lynch, Addai, Walter, Holt, etc...)? Also, do I keep Campbell at $11 or drop him and get a potentially cheaper b/u like Garrard, Bulger, C-pep? Or is Campbell a bargain at this price? Thanks

What is the best FF magazine?

Lienart, when warner took over out of no where (as a previous poster pointed out); Leftwich in 2006, Alex Smith, Clemens, Rudi, Maroney and Lendale to an extent, Henry, Chad Johnson to name a few

    Auction strategy

Well, as you can see from my roster below, I need some studs. The drop period is not over yet, but the good thing is I have so much more money than anyone else. Figure if I can add one stud RB such as Lynch along with a couple starting caliber WRs I will be in good shape. As a previous poster said, once the drop period is complete, I will have more time to analyze what other owners may be shooting for. Another QB like Romo or McNabb would be nice but I will not overpay for him. Like I said, it would such not to place a bid and someone get him for dirt cheap. Even if Romo is sitting on my bench he can still be an asset, especially if his cap figure is way undermarket.

    Auction strategy

Good advice. Yes we do have one full month between the time we can release players and the beginning of the FA auction. There still may be a few big names that are currently overpriced to be added to the pool. I do like Campbell, but not thrilled with him. However, my thinking is that I may not have to use anyone more than one week to fill Manning's bye anyhow. He just does not miss any time...ala Favre. It would just suck if big name QB's go extremely cheap just because no one bid on them (including me).

What is the best FF magazine?

So what is the magazine called that you mentioned as your favorite?

What is the best FF magazine?

Well, I always see these fools show up to a live draft crossing out players in the cheatsheets that are in the magazines from June. More than just training camp injuries, a lot changes. Depth charts, players falling in and out of favor, etc. This is why Athlon's is pretty cool how they allow you access to update rankings up until September. But artiles and stats, etc should be the main reason-if not only reason- to get the mags.

    Gates trade value

    Agreed

    Gates trade value

In my PPR-dynasty league, I cannot even give Gates away. He is the highest paid TE at $49 (2nd highest is Witten @ $42, 3rd is Gonzo @ $32). I'm considering releasing him before our rosters freeze prior to the FA auction and rookie draft.

What is the best FF magazine?

I understand that they are outdated - rankings anyway - but I like to read articles and such.

    Outlook for Clayton?

Yes, Bennett is available along with a few others. I have a ton of $ and as you can see from my roster below, I have a lot of roster spots to fill. I was also thinking of dropping Gates and his $49 price tag. I could possibly get him back for a reduced price or Winslow, Boss and Shockey are all available. Do you think Campbell is a bargain at $11 or drop him for a cheaper b/u since I have Peyton anyway?

Thank you, honestly I have never checked that one out but I will this year.

    Keeper league...

I agree with this...unless you can trade one of them for a young, stud RB
  18. #1LionFan

    Would you do this trade?

I would be trading Ginn $14 and Jerome Harrison $1 and I would be receiving Cedric Benson $9, Mark Clayton $14 and pick 3.07 in the rookie draft? This is a 14-team PPR dynasty league with a $400 salary cap.
  19. #1LionFan

    Would you trade Benson?

Would you trade Cedric Benson for Buckhaulter ($1) and the 1.10 pick in the Rookie draft ($11). Makes sence since I probably will take moreno at 1.01 but I am afraid this will leave my RBs weak. Lynch, Bradshaw, Addai are still available in the FA auction though. If I do it, who do I target at the 1.10 pick? 14-team PPR dynasty league. Start 1 QB, 1 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 2 R/W/T, D & K Campbell, Jason WAS QB - $11.00 Manning, Peyton IND QB - $50.00 Benson, Cedric CIN RB - $9.00 Ward, Derrick TBB RB - $2.00 Wright, Jason ARI RB - $2.00 Ward, Hines PIT WR - $28.00 Welker, Wes NEP WR - $71.00 Clayton, Mark BAL WR - $14.00 Gates, Antonio SDC TE - $49.00 Watson, Ben NEP TE - $1.00 Eagles, Philadelphia PHI Def - $5.00 1.01 Rookie - $60.00 3.07 Rookie - $1.00

    Would you trade Benson?

We only start 1 to 3 RBs and 3-5 WRs. I will have D. Ward and Moreno, then get Addai, Lynch, etc in FA auction. I have lots of $ to play with. RB depth is not a huge worry

    From Gates to Winslow...

Winslow would be much cheaper and is almost 4 years younger, but in a PPR league I feel Gates could be huge if healthy. How much is one giving up to go with Winslow instead of Gates?
  22. #1LionFan

    From Gates to Winslow...

What will be the determining factor for you as far as the TB QB goes? My major concern w/ Gates is his health. He said he still has lingering soreness in his ankle from last year. I would hate to pay so much for him and have to worry about sitting him. If healthy tho, he can produce like a low-end #1 and high-end #2 WR. Thanks.
  23. #1LionFan

    Would you trade Benson?

Lynch is available in the FA auction. I may taget him as long as there is not a bidding war. So I get the feeling that most people think I should get more than Buchhaulter and the 1.10 pick?
  24. #1LionFan

    Would you trade Benson?

FA receiver include Holt, Walter, Santana Moss, Burton(StL?), Matt Jones, Earl Bennett, Bruce, Muhammad

    Fair trade for Fitz?

Here is my team in a standard scoring, PPR dynasty league. Start 1 QB, 1 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 2 R/W/T, D & K Campbell, Jason WAS QB - $11.00 Manning, Peyton IND QB - $50.00 Harrison, Jerome CLE RB - $1.00 Lewis, Jamal CLE RB - $47.00 Ward, Derrick TBB RB - $2.00 Wright, Jason ARI RB - $2.00 Ginn Jr., Ted MIA WR - $14.00 Ward, Hines PIT WR - $28.00 Welker, Wes NEP WR - $71.00 Gates, Antonio SDC TE - $49.00 Watson, Ben NEP TE - $1.00 Eagles, Philadelphia PHI Def - $5.00 ------------------------------------------- 12 of the max 22 roster spots filled Total Salary: $281.00 Salary Cap: $400.00 Cap Room Available: $119.00 I also have this year's 1.01 rookie draft pick ($60 contract) after trading Portis ($90). A team that needs salary cap relief is trying to unload Fitzgerald's $90 contract OR his 1.02 pick that will cost him $56. I obviously have a lot of cap room and more once I release Lewis' $47 contract. But I also have A LOT of roster spots to fill with the upcoming Rookie Draft and FA auction. MY QUESTON: What is a fair deal for Fitz? He wants Gates and I am willing to deal him. Is Ginn or Hines Ward and Gates fair? The only players I do not want to unload are D. Ward ($2) and Welker (PPR machine). Problem with acquiring Fitz is that between he and Welker, they would cost me $161 of my $400 cap! If Fits cannot be had, do I concentrate on getting the 1.02 pick. If so, is Gates straight up a fair deal? This would give me a chance to pick Moreno & Crabtree in this year's draft. The only problem is that I would be tying well over 1/4 of my salary to unproven rookies. Thanks for any help.
