I always tried to list the standings with the person who was at that mark first, ahead in the order. But obviously that's not good for breaking a tie at the end of the season. I think chopping the total for 2nd/3rd would be best.

The draft is always my favorite part of FF leagues, I just also enjoy navigating weekly lineup decisions, managing my roster, potentially trading although most people are too afraid of possibly losing a trade ever. I've seen so many Dynasty leagues fold because a lot of people just love the startup draft and get bored easily when all they have is a rookie draft in subsequent years. There was a group of guys here at FFT that used to frequent the main bored, after the originals but before the current group, that loved dynasty but they were constantly pitching new dynasty startups. There are aspects of FF that I don't care for because I think they take away from strategy... best ball, "superflex", having lots of flex spots, huge benches

It’s a fun little game that @ZeroTolerance started… or at least ran for a long time.

I think we already saw FF's peak. For a number of reasons, but I think it already happened. It's still plenty popular though. I don't get as amped up about it as I used to and I was also a nut job running 10-12 team leagues in middle school... for $... and getting in trouble for that the IBL is a great example. When I was invited to join team FFT, I was excited. There were more boards involved, lots of trash talk, kind of felt some pressure to represent this site. It was that way for years but the past 3-4 seasons, you can see the lack of interest. At one point down to 6 forums participating and one year even grasping to find a 6th. Old mainstay forums gone, new influx of Axelf style characters and even the participation and teamwork among FFT members has waned. I'm still in several leagues, but that's less than before... and i derive no enjoyment from DFS lineups and best ball leagues. I'll do a weekly lineup in a GPP for shiits and giggles but thats about it.

i was pretty out of it today. pulled an all nighter to watch the 1:30 coverage on peacock for some unknown reason... like i really needed to watch justin leonard and todd hamilton . didn't even open the spreadsheet until all the scores had already been entered. i'll do a better job on the weekend.

there's a lot of guessing, i'd call it educated guessing, in FF. From the draft onward. Luck plays a big part in fantasy more than a lot of people care to admit. But I do still think being someone who follows football more than other league members should reward those owners in some way and that's where I think it comes into play. best ball leagues allow people who want to play FF but maybe don't even watch much football on Sundays to draft a team based on a websites rankings and have a really good shot at winning. Very few decisions to make after the draft.

Agree with almost everything you said aside from this. No one forces people to take out student loans they can’t afford. Debt forgiveness by Biden is a joke and a disservice to the country. if you want to help college graduates, try tackling the issue at its source… Rising tuition costs. Don’t try waiving a magic wand and figuring debt.

Neither of these statements are true and quite honestly, even though I didn’t vote for Trump in 2016, I never remember more fake outrage over politics. Let’s not forget the epic crying meme or the college campus therapists…. And I’d be willing to bet that the people who acted like the world was ending because Killary lost, barely had their lives change at all from 2016-2020… if they did it was probably for the better financially but they would never admit it. now all the sudden if he wins again he’s going to run a dictatorship and the world is going to end

I don’t see TDS as explaining away opposition. Then again I’m not a conservative honk. When I think TDS I think of the almost non stop “we’re gonna get him!” Mentality of the left. It has often felt like liberal focus has still been negative focus on Trump these past 4 years way more so than positive focus on the guy they wanted to be in office. then again, when it’s Joe Biden, maybe that’s understandable. Easier to focus on “Trump Bad” when there isn’t very much good to say. and yes, I also understand that the dnc was scared to death of him running again and has spent the past 4 years hyper focused on him.

I hate to agree with timhack but he’s spot on. Deciding who to start based on matchups or if you have a few guys all playing well or playing poorly has long been a staple of separating yourself when it comes to FF. best ball is lazy. As are flex flex flex leagues. No one wants to have to make decisions anymore. Just draft and check in and see how you did each week. I hate to liken it to politics but it’s like the pvssy liberal version of FF.

While I agree on the part of focusing on unity, it’s funny hearing that from Biden supporter since most heavy liberals are not even close to being focused on unity. And memories running short… hmm. Yeah that’s exactly what I saw from liberals with TDS the last 3+ years

2nd half of the season will be interesting for the Rays. Sitting at .500, 5.5 games back of a wildcard spot. But they won 8 of their last 9 series before the break. I think they are in a unique position to sort of be sellers but also still push for the playoffs Already dealt Civale and got Baz back in the rotation. I have a hunch they will deal Eflin, who they paid a decent amount to prior to 2023, if they feel Springs is ready. A rotation of Bradley, Springs, Littell, Pepiot and Baz is probably better than one with Eflin/Civale... and they will have McClanahan and Rasmussen back next season. I would also try as hard as possible to deal Brandon Lowe while he's healthy... (Eflin and Lowe represent their largest annual salaries) if they think Junior Caminero is ready and can play SS. Caballero can play 2B and i'm sure Walls can as well.

I am of course sure this represents a vast improvement for them, well done. Still, its 2.2B over 11 years. the NBA's deal with TNT alone was something like 1.2B annually.
