Reading this was like listening to a Biden speech -
Hard to do a snake draft with an odd number of rounds. I don’t think either way we do it would really matter though

My condolences

I posted to a thread that had not been bumped since April 25th and you responded a whopping 2 minutes later. It doesn't take much to get your attention I don't love the NBA the way I used to. Still follow it... started this thread, after all

I know you're just deflecting and I am glad you have an off the cuff comment I made several years ago to cling to.... but real talk, it must be pretty depressing for Philly fans who lauded the process all those years, flipped so many good players for more and more picks, whiffed on so many picks, and ultimately wound up with 1 Super Star to watch never make it past the eastern conference semi finals. Take Embiid off the Sixers and the don't beat the Nets. They had an awful record without him. It's all in fun, I'm not sitting here praising or defending the Nets but the Sixers brought mockery upon themselves
-
he really balled out in the 4th quarter Nets play same time as the Sixers
-
Trust the process Sixers last conference finals appearance : 2001 Nets last conference finals appearance : 2003 damn, that sure was a lot of intentional tanking to ultimately put together a roster that has never made an eastern conference finals

did he quit? maybe you rubbed off on him in HS sorry to hear -
if they both come back around the same time, they would be fighting for 1 rotation spot (currently being filled by Tyler Alexander, sometimes entering the game after an opener). I imagine they would continue to start Eflin, Civale and Littell. Pepiot has looked pretty good, hard to see them sending him down. Baz will probably be brought along slowly. If Bradley still has minor league options (im not looking at the moment), he would be my bet to spend some time in the minors.
-
what robbery the Rays pulled off. Granted, Meadows is out of baseball right now, Glasnow is a Dodger and Baz is coming back from surgery but Meadows gave us a really good year and allowed us to flip for Paredes. Glasnow has Cy Young stuff and allowed us to flip for Pepiot and there is still hope for Baz. Best example of why I became a Rays fan and why I continue to be. The most well run organization in baseball compared to their means.
-
I think Baz is better / more talented their ideal rotation, and this is after trading Glasnow, is .... McClanahan, Springs, Baz, Rasmussen, Bradley They had to add Civale last year after all the injuries, brought Pepiot back in the Glasnow deal, turned Zack Littell into a quality starter and still have Zach Eflin who they gave a decent contract to last offseason and was supposed to be their SP4 at the time. Ideally, Eflin starts to pitch a little better and is sold before the deadline.

i hate Biden as much as the next normal guy but this is a terrible attempt. -
hard to watch this Rays team with all the injuries. Won't have their top 3 SP's for all or most of the season, their 4th best SP still has not made his season debut. Taj Bradley also still on the IL. Basically the 5 starters who would normally make up their rotation are all currently injured. Maybe Eflin would still be starting over Bradley. 2 of their 3 best relief pitchers are now on the shelf as well including their top closer. Granted, he is often injured. On offense, one of their top bats in Josh Lowe has yet to make his debut. Brandon Lowe is also on the IL, but they should have done a better job replacing him a year or two ago. Guy can't stay healthy at all. The offense wasn't exactly going to scare anyone before, but certainly isn't now. Without some players coming back from injury, this team will be 4th at best in the AL East.

yeah i meant directly to her left. Whoopie looks like she ate the Whoopie I used to know. -
I think the combo of Sandy, followed by the legalization of gambling from home in all the surrounding states really smashed AC. Unlike Vegas, it's really not a place people want to go for a "vacation". They need to fix up the areas surrounding all the casinos. When I do go it's like good lord just get me to the parking garage of the casino and leaving is just get to the AC expressway and gtfo.
-
I highly doubt any allowance of surrendering, etc. was done in AC in order to attract gamblers... I mean, yes, likely a reason Oceans is doing it but not AC as a whole.... AC was (and probably is still) struggling ever since Hurricane Sandy. A majority of the Casinos from my very first trip, the week after I turned 21, don't exist anymore. Back then the popular place to go was the Taj to play poker because of Rounders .. sad. But I did like their poker room. I didn't even play blackjack back then and now I rarely play poker. Caesars is still there, I stopped a few years ago on my way home from Cape May and don't recall caesars having surrender at their tables. AC is just a shiithole, but it's a relatively easy drive for me
-
Oceans in AC allows it. that's the only place i've been lately.

who is the woman to her left who looks like she wants to eat her? -
without reading all the responses so far, for me it's the mindsets of the players. Perhaps there are specific things the league and Adam Silver have done to foster this culture or maybe it was always going to happen, but the player determined formation of super teams, how easily they give up when it doesn't work out right away, the constant trade demands and players forcing their way to the teams they want, etc.... coaching almost doesn't matter anymore. If a team wants to go out and trade assets for players and put together a core, that's fine. The KG/Pierce/Allen Celtics didn't bother me. Lebron's decision and the Lebron/Wade/Bosh Heat did because they were all free agents deciding to form a powerhouse. Similarly, watching Durant blow a series lead against the Warriors and then go join them the following season.... The 90's and early 2000's for me as a fan still had rivalries with top stars wanting to beat each other.

draft 4 or 5 with 4th and 5th rounds the same order
-
-surrender a 2 card 16 versus a dealer 10, no you never surrender I will, but admittedly I do not play exact basic strategy. I play more a combination of basic along with always assuming the next card will be a 10 (which you wouldn't do if you were counting, but it's been years since I bothered counting). So yeah, if i've got a 10/6 and the dealer s showing 10 sometimes I will surrender. - conversely, if you draw to a 16 with 3 or more cards, you stay no you play the same no matter how many cards you draw I dont even know what I meant here when I typed this out 9 years ago. I never stay on 16,... I'm either hitting or surrendering.
