Rudy ordered to give penthouse to Georgia election workers
WhiteWonder replied to Mike Honcho's topic in The Geek Club
Thanks. I was more interested in hearing why that would be a $150 million dollar legal offense, but I appreciate the info. Not that I agree or disagree although I guess it does seem extremely punitive, as someone mentioned earlier. -
So before I read the available QBs, I would have said yes. Mahomes is a proven commodity and has plenty of top tier years left. While Lagette is still a big unknown on a team in QB purgatory. but then I see Drake maye and Rodgers available and I’d drop Daniel jones asap and add Maye. How is he available in a dynasty? if you have another roster spot with shaheed on Ir I’d also add Rodgers

Rudy ordered to give penthouse to Georgia election workers
WhiteWonder replied to Mike Honcho's topic in The Geek Club
Sorry, I don't follow politics the way a lot of people around here do 24/7, especially not what former mayors are doing... What did Rudy do that warrants $150 million in damages? -
He will get his, certainly… and especially because he brings a toughness to the offense as a whole. But you really think it would go back to being basically a 1 man show? I don’t see any way that happens. I think Hunt will continue to get a healthy amount of touches to keep Pacheco fresh
-
With how Hunt has looked, his familiarity with the offense/mahomes and the fact KC is undefeated ... I would see no reason why KC would rush Pacheco back or not continue to give Hunt a decent workload once Pacheco returns. Even in the playoffs, which we don't care about for FF, why would they go away from what is working (meaning Hunt would still probably have a decent role)? This would be easier to predict if the Chiefs didn't already have their bye. For example If they had a week 12 bye, I would say you won't see Pacheco until week 13. i still have a hard time believing we see him back before week 12

The NFL product on the field across the board - GARBAGE
WhiteWonder replied to lod001's topic in FFToday Board
hmmm. First i'll respond to your post directly, and then I will go in a slightly different direction that still applies to the topic. As far as blaming it on trash QB's and coaching, I would remove a few QB's from your list either because I think they are fine NFL QB's or because I think their situation leaves more to be blamed on GM or ownership. Dak - Good NFL QB, imho. Can't base anything off $$$ since NFL QB's get ridiculous contracts. Just how it is Broncos - Bo Nix has looked better than I expected. Not fair to throw him in this category already Rodgers - his stats are fine this year for a 41 year old veteran. His completion percentage sucks but hes 8th in yards, top 10 in TDs.... He's a total cancer but I think his stats would be better if the overall team wasn't all over the place. Hurts - is having a very efficient season. high completion %, low turnovers.... Barkley looks tremendous and the offense is different this year. Smith and AJ Brown also missed multiple games. Daniel Jones - gotta look right at GM/ownership on this one. Jones should be a backup QB... and unlike Richardson or some of the other names on your list, theres been enough time to determine what Jones is. What has bothered me more about the NFL and what I think takes away from the product more than people realize is the extra game and expanded playoffs and the trickle down effect it has when it comes to injuries. With an added game and more playoff spots, more teams are alive longer in the season and there is less incentive to rush a player back from injury. I think players who would have missed 1-2 games in the past now get held out for 3-4... it's easier to shove a player on the IL, easier to continue to have a star player miss games to get them as close to 100% as possible if the team is still winning or treading water. The Rams are a great example. Puka didn't miss a beat last night. Kupp looked good too. Do we really think they couldn't have played in week 7? But there is less urgency. The Rams are now 3-4 in a wide open NFC West. that extra game and extra wildcard spot make a big difference. Stafford would have much better numbers with more games played by his top two WR's and Rams games would be higher scoring with those stars on the field. That's just one example. -

Is the term Yankee offensive to some?

Vikings too. Maybe not all Nordic people want to be portrayed with a helmet and horns and long blonde braids. -

I still enjoy their breakfast sammiches but holy sheet. I had a big mac last week and the burger patties are paper thin. You're basically eating 3 slices of bread with lettuce and mayo. -
Why wasn't Kamala able to attend this? Seems like a decent campaign type stop, which is what she is in the midst of doing. Was there a pressing political matter she needed to attend to? That would be odd since I've been told countless times that she has nothing to do with anything Biden/Harris and is simply a cheerleader for Joe. Was she just afraid to look bad in a situation where she would have to go off the cuff a bit without help from moderators? I mean, she could just read jokes off paper like Donald did... maybe she really is just THAT grating and unlikable when not hand selecting the atmosphere.

something for next year that needs to be fixed, and I would say not even voted on, is fixing the weekly schedule. I noticed I am playing BiffTannen for the 3rd time in the first 7 weeks. the time frame doesn't matter but with 3 divisions, the schedule is supposed to set up to play each division opponent 2x and every other team 1x over 14 weeks. Nice and neat. There should even be a button or setting under commish tools > schedule that resets the schedule and will spit out exactly this. If there is not an easy button for it, I can use a 3rd party tool to generate this schedule and import it. I never looked because this is something else I figured was set up when the ESPN league was created.

Trump talk only- no Eagles talk allowed (Steelers talk is OK though)
WhiteWonder replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
All I have to do is think back to George W. There is no way anyone can think Cheney didn't have a big say in what was going on. With respect to John Adams, this isn't 1790. I think it's a little naive to say the VP does nothing more than cheerlead for the President. If Kamala was nothing more than an optics VP because the democratic party needed someone younger, female and of color to pair with old white Joe, then I would again ask "what makes her more qualified to run our country this time around?" If she only spent the last 4 years nodding, smiling, cackling and putting on her pearl earrings. Now with that said, I believe common sense tells us that any VP, Kamala, Pence, etc does not deserve to be 100% pigeonholed based on their term as VP but I absolutely think it's fair game to expect them to be questioned on it, criticized on aspects and praised on aspects. I think they would consider it 4 important years of their political resume. -

yes, i edited my post for clarity. Pence dropped out almost a year ago. Kamala wasn't even on the radar until recently. Pence was running for the republican nomination. Harris had no opposition. If Pence were in the race now as the republican nominee, I am positive he would be fielding debate questions having to do with his time in the Trump-Pence presidency you really don't think he would be asked about Jan 6? about how he would be different from Trump or what he would do differently? -

If the situation with Biden isn't dire, then why did his own party and media basically force him to drop out? The answer is obvious. Like I said before, politics is a game. Even those who actually believed he was not in severe mental decline had no defense after his debate performance. That performance set off the alarms that he had very little chance against Trump. In order to win the game, he needed to be replaced. If you want to talk about duty, then you need to look at the Democratic party for why his campaign for reelection was allowed to go on as long as it did. Had he dropped out sooner, there could have been time for a primary. Well, the difference with your Pence comparison is that Pence is not running for POTUS anymore. If he were the republican nominee, I am 100% sure that he would be receiving criticism for Trumps blunders and/or credit for his successes. He dropped out nearly a year ago. -

I am aware you obviously don't feel sick at the idea of Kamala as president. I would highly doubt you truly believe she is a great candidate though... or even a good one. I will resist lumping you in with a large portion of democrats who think she's the greatest thing because thats what they have been told to think (all while ignoring just how unpopular a candidate she was in 2020). Had there been time to have a primary, I really don't think she would have sniffed the nomination. Her own space cadet personality combined with the stigmatism of being tied to Biden would have left her in the dust, imho. I'm going to have to push back on blaming republicans for anything to do with Biden taking so long to drop out of the race. What would you expect them to do? Politics is a game, plain and simple. You want the board to align as well as possible for you to win. When your fantasy football opponent forgets to make a lineup change, do you call them and let them know? (Okay I actually do but I am a weirdo). If you think about the people, not the politicians, Republican voters have been calling him senile his entire time in office. Toward the end, everyone knew. Sorry but I'm not going to look at the opposite party for someone to blame. Democrats should have pressured him out much sooner or stuck with him. They beat the drum for how mentally sharp he was until hit the fan. Personally I feel she is much more aligned with THEIR values now. I definitely still question what her true values are. Nah, I am tired of this rhetoric that a VP doesn't do much when things are not so great because people would be very quick to praise her role if things were spectacular. Obviously she wasn't running the show, but you would think her values and ideas aligned with Joe. I know this is not always the case and very often VPs have to grin and nod along with things... but if her 4 years as VP were spent entirely as nothing more than a cheerleader for Joe, then what makes her a good presidential candidate now? I applaud Hillary but yes.. I fully believe she is sick on the inside. -

I don't think you are wrong, my friend. I hope you are wrong because even as someone who is not a big DJT fan, the thought of Kamala running our country makes me absolutely sick, as does the manner in which she has arrived here. 2020 - couldn't sniff the democratic nomination. 2020 - was attached to old white Joe to appeal to younger, female, and minority demographics. 2024 - Joe is more than fine!, very sharp, no cognitive decline, perfectly fit to lead the country! 20204 - Joe flops in debate, Democratic party pressures him out, Kamala assumed the mantle due to timing, despite better candidates likely being available. People can say what they want about Trump, myself included, but he had 4 years as president and he's not really shying away from what he accomplished in those 4 years. That's why the narrative always shifts to Jan 6 and peaceful transfer of power. Kamala, on the other hand, almost always refuses to speak in any depth about her role in the current administration. Why the things she is promising to do were not already done. Why Harris-Walz will be different than Biden-Harris. I mentioned this, probably in one of the other hundred political threads, but even though I am not a huge Killary fan, I actually feel bad for her. No matter anyone's feelings toward her, it is hard to deny that she is smart, sharp, well educated, professional and very articulate. To think that Kamala Harris may be the first female POTUS must make her sick.
