March Madness does nothing for me any more. Likely will not watch a single game
WhiteWonder replied to edjr's topic in The Geek Club
he said his degree is from there, not necessarily that he went there. If it was a virtual degree or grad program, he may have never set foot on campus so I can't imagine caring. Even if he did, it's possible he wouldn't care about their sports program regardless of "sports being ruined for him". I'm not really into college sports in general. I pay attention to march madness because it's a lot of fun but in general I have always cared way more about pro sports. -

I mean I’m just speaking directly to the poor decisions in that nfc championship game

I think we are just going to have to be at the mercy of Yahoo in regard to these fringe players that are not listed in their database. The idea of claiming players and using placeholders until they become available was not a bad idea but to be fair, not everyone checks in here once we are finished drafting. The most fair way to handle this, unfortunately, is whoever sees them added to the Yahoo database first.... It's a shame that so many players are missing from their database this season.

You probably make it to the Super Bowl with better coaching, regardless

I took Boise St. ML with a profit boost meant to use it on Colorado St last night but forgot to get my wagers in.

exactly this. I think BTC and a lot of crypto can be great money making investments. I wish my first purchase of BTC had been many years ago rather than a few months ago . BTC is still doing great but that guy, who claims to be the most knowledgeable poster when it comes to BTC, only comes around to do his routine when it's climbing. Based on the way he used to post about work, life in general, lack of money, moving to cheaper areas etc and the time frame when he began participating strongly in this thread... i'd honestly be surprised if he owns much bitcoin at all. I hope he does. I hope he's making a killing... but I also wouldn't be surprised if he owns 0 or just recently got above water from purchases at the last round of ATH's.

Tell me you don’t follow golf without telling me you don’t follow golf

Is this a no spoiler thread? I just finished watching it all. I enjoyed it. I think the PGA LIV stuff has to dominate the show to start and I loved seeing how hurt Rory was and how used he felt. Actually felt bad for him. think Alex Fitzpatrick may have been my favorite episode lastly, gotta feel for Keegan. Guy wanted so bad to be in the Ryder cup and should have been. Disgusted watching Zach Johnson make those phone calls. So clear it was a buddies thing and I remember him being close with that spieth/thomas/fowler boys club. Thomas had no business being there. Obviously Keegan Bradley wouldn’t have made the difference but I’m glad we got our asses handed to us. We are clueless on how to play as a team.

I absolutely love Breece. I'm just getting myself prepared that we likely have him for 2 more seasons before he becomes too expensive for the position. Hope i'm wrong. Agreed. Wilson is special. Also agreed on Flacco. I never quite understood why there was not a seasoned veteran in the QB room last year. Still could have had Zach sitting and learning under Rodgers, and Zach even could have been the #2 if Rodgers missed say a game or 2 in concussion protocol or something.... but you needed a legit veteran if Rodgers suffered a long term injury.

With Quinnen Williams signed, Quincey coming into his own, Sauce, Garrett, Breece and Jermaine Johnson entering year 3, AVT coming back and Joe Tippman looking promising last year, the future is bright. A lot of these guys will be coming up for contracts, and we know how the RB landscape is right now.... but on the plus side, by the time they need to get paid, we will be starting over with a QB on a rookie deal, most likely.

While the start of FA was lackluster for the Jets, I have been happy with what they have done... provided I base it all on them being all in for this one season (or possibly 2 if Rodgers feels good about the team and his health and wants to run it back in 2025). Tyron Smith was probably the best 1 year, going all in option at left tackle. Moses was a solid trade for the right side on a 1 year deal. Mike Williams on a 1 year deal, when healthy is a poor mans Mike Evans, which is the perfect receiver profile to play opposite Garret Wilson. As much as I will miss Bryce Huff, he was too expensive for someone who is not a 3 down player. Most importantly, they are now in a spot where they can do almost anything with the #10 pick. I believe it should still be a tackle, since Moses and Smith are 33 and you want someone to back those guys up (and be the future LT)... but I think receiver is now an option, as is Bowers. Hell, i'd love for them to trade back, pick up an additional pick and look at QB so they can do what they have not done since Chad Pennington! let a rookie sit and learn. Aside from Rodgers being a diva and Woody Johnson being a trash owner, I'm fairly satisfied right now.

I’d say 3 months ago he was already viewed by most as a first round pick and already chatter that he could continue rising up boards and be the #4 QB picked
-
No. You don’t give the money they gave a young QB who they view as a star and trade him because you’ve lost weapons. He’s supposed to be a guy who makes other guys into weapons
-
be honest, you pulled into the spot way over the line like a female driver, didn't you
-
in general, I agree with you... but this is a silly statement to make after it just happened this year

I think their ability to ascend quickly will be hampered by their strong division. Remember, Houston was in the AFC South with Indy and Tennessee. They got 3 wins right there and split with the slightly underperforming Jags. They also benefitted from a very easy schedule, especially after their bye. not to take anything away from CJ Stroud but looking back on it their most impressive win by far was over the Bengals when Burrow was still playing in week 10... or maybe that 2 game stretch in general beating Tampa and cincy

not as hard as it is for you, it seems

does it bother you to always be so wrong at everything?

assuming Caleb Williams and knowing he is surrounded by Keenan Allen, DJ Moore, Cole Kmet, Gerald Everett etc is a hell of a start. it's the Bears though, so much like my Jets, something bad is bound to happen. Plus that defense still needs work. 30 team sacks was pretty low and they gave up a fairly high amount of passing tds.... The o-ine could be better if healthy. 8-9 wins sounds possible, maybe probable although in that division, they are no better than 3rd and potentially still 4th depending on what Minny does at QB. If Minny trades up for a QB, that rookie will have better weapons at his disposal.
