admittedly I dislike trading in this league. for a few reasons 1. part of the fun for me is trying to win with current and former Rays (aside from the supp guys) 2. most, if not all trades result in additional locked roster spots in a format where the flexibility to add/drop is so important. (especially for a franchise like Tampa) as for the above, I also value pitching way more than hitting so an ace pitcher would need to return a stud hitter that I value more than the pitcher I am parting with. That's just personal philosophy though

its all luck also not a bad idea

The hype surrounding Peyton* Manning relative to the rest of his draft class does not equal the hype surrounding Clark. After all, there was still talk of Manning or Leaf #1 overall, no matter how serious it actually was. In addition, Peyton Manning and other top drafted players in mens sports were stepping into leagues with much higher talent levels. That's why we don't expect them to hit the ground running let alone dominate. The WNBA talent level is not very good. So paired with all the hype around Clark, it is certainly fair to expect her to be off to a better start and certainly a fair discussion.

anyone opt to use them or HAVE to use them on their auto policy? I know some companies have it mandatory and others offer it optional to get additional discounts. my question is... if I enroll in Geico's to get a 10% policy discount, is there going to be any issue if I mess with permission settings and only have it running when I want?

Trump talk only- no Eagles talk allowed (Steelers talk is OK though)

true. that's just every politician / political party -
im in the same camp as you. I'm not hoping she flops or declaring her some sort of complete bust. I think I even said she will probably wind up going down as one of the WNBA greats (for what that is worth). but i do think it's reasonable to be critical of her poor performance early on, based on the build up... be that her fault or not. the fact that shes not playing all that great and people are pointing to "fastest rookie in WNBA history to blah blah blah" just speaks to the level of talent in the WNBA and why it shouldn't be that difficult for her to hit the ground running.

wrong I corrected your mistakes above

i posted her stats above. shes avergaing 5.5 turnovers per game over 8 games. This almost completely wipes out her assists and you're left with a 17 and 5 (rounding down) player. I don't know if this is considered special for the WNBA but it's certainly not what's going to attract and keep viewers.

But how valid is the claim that she is more focused on as a rookie than sue bird or other top women out of college? I don’t know how the coaching is but I do know the fever were one of the worst teams so it stands to reason you would focus a lot of attention on Clark. But it also stands to reason the same happened to other top picks? Maybe?

I’ve only seen highlights because it’s her so I can’t speak fully to how they are guarding her. Have you watched that much wnba throughout the years?

I agree that we need safer drivers. I consider myself a good driver. No accidents of any kind in the last 5 years and no at fault accidents in the last 15. Admittedly I have a tendency to get pulled over for speeding but have never been issued a ticket. My problem with these safe driving apps from the companies themselves is that, from everything I am reading, you have to have it constantly running on your phone. If you disallow permissions or turn your device off for too long they will take you out of the program and take away the small discount they are giving you. I am also reading that if they feel you are driving more miles or they detect hard braking, or other patterns that they would associate with a higher risk driver, they will increase your premium and give you BS reasoning that it's just the category you fall into or rates rose across the industry. I don't think something like braking hard should warrant a higher premium, just because we tend to associate that with poorer drivers. No accidents? no violations? ... tough to make a determination on someone based on a cell phone app. I was considering it with Geico but am not going to bother. the 10% discount isn't worth even having to worry that they might raise my rates in any fashion due to app data. ... and I would never switch to a company that makes them mandatory for coverage.

You spend more time here than I do so you tell me thanks
-
I think you’re thinking of other kinds of driving apps I am specifically talking about the apps offered by auto insurance companies that record your speed, miles, hard braking, etc
-
I would never consider that. Was just curious if I could pick and choose when to have the app running and basically only use it when I know I’ll be driving perfectly but it sounds like prolonged periods of inactivity or having permission settings off will likely result in being unenrolled and losing the discount anyway
