Big year for QBs in the draft

No one thinks the Bears didn't get the better end of that deal with Carolina, based on Bryce Young's play. Would you take CJ Stroud or that trade? and before you say QBs are a crapshoot, let's not gloss over the fact that talent evaluation comes into play. Do you think the Bears would have picked Bryce Young if they were not able to trade back?

Big year for QBs in the draft

you reek of jealousy if you want to have a separate conversation about their inability to capitalize in big games, coming up just short too often, thats fine. But don't pretend like the Packers are not extremely well run just because the Bears are not

11 playoff appearances, 1 super bowl win an 5 trips to the NFC championship game since 2010. Now onto their 3rd consecutive franchise QB. Only 6 head coaches since 1992 How many teams would love to have that kind of success and stability? Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Green Bay..... well run organizations.

lol, stop. The Packers are one of the best run organizations in the NFL.

Big year for QBs in the draft

It was a good trade. Not a brilliant one. There is no way in hell Bears fans would take that trade again if the alternative was drafting CJ Stroud. Of course, that is hindsight... but he was right up there in consideration for top QB off the board so it's not outlandish. The Bears obviously did not feel completely confident in any of the QBs available and still had some hopes for Fields... so given the situation, it was a good trade. The problem is, If you don't hit on the right QB now, the rest of the haul from that trade really won't matter at all.

I didn't realize he was talking about patience or anything like that. I thought he was mentioning QB's who were not viewed as being at the top of their respective draft classes. I was reading what he wrote based on what you quoted.

Big year for QBs in the draft

If the Bears stay put and draft a QB, which I think they should, I hope they bring in a veteran to start off the season. Even if the rookie takes over midway. I just think it's a beneficial approach. My gut says they keep the pick and Caleb Williams is the guy. He will start from day 1 and fans will be wishing they had draft Drake Maye by November.

i must have glossed over the giving up part. I didn't think he was saying anyone gave up on any of those QBs

I said many times to friends Daniel Jones was Dave Brown 2.0.... which is a huge insult to Daniel Jones. Simms was overrated though.

Big year for QBs in the draft

I think his reason for mentioning Hurts, Prescott, Love was that he was giving examples of QBs who were not considered at the top of their respective classes. for all the crap Dak gets, the list of guys picked before Dak is sad. Hurts was a 2nd rounder and Love was pick.. 25? So I think or hope his point was that you can, indeed trade back if there is not someone who stands out to you and you think the team benefits more from stockpiling assets. Furthering that by mentioning two guys who were afterthoughts in their drafts (Brady, Purdy) although that is silly lottery ticket stuff. not saying I agree

Are you insinuating Jacksonville doesn't have it's franchise QB?

classic seafoam. starts a topic and it's largely about what the Bears could do... then gets butthurt by almost every comment.

    Saudi Golf Tour

on one hand, I agree. any of us would love golf to be our "job"... but then I try to remind myself what actually comes with being on that level. If that were me, i'd probably enjoy playing a little less too. i mean, in reality, going to LIV is just one less day of golf per event. The amount of events they play was/is being forced on them in a roundabout way by the PGA because of fedex cup points (this was the first year the fall events didn't count)... hard not to blame the PGA for not being out in front of all this

thanks. considering i'm more interested in shorter term trades (i.e a potential runup to the halving which sees to be the next "buy the rumor" event) I don't really feel like dealing with cold storage wallets and all that. That's something I would do with any CC i planned to hold for longer. and obviously CIFR would just be stock trading.

One of the big reasons I respect your opinion is that you have been willing to admit when you make mistakes, are down a bit, etc. Almost no one else is willing to admit they ever made a bad call on crypto or got in at the wrong time... which we all know can't be true. Or it's just non stop blind pumping based on posts they read on X or pro crypto podcasts. You are actually willing to have adult conversations. I have bought and sold ETH 3 times. Very first was through coinbase. After I bought it went way down but eventually way up from my cost basis. The other two times were purchases through robinhood where I wanted to buy if it dipped below a certain point and sold after a gain I was satisfied with, even though in both cases it continued to run up decently higher. I have a very small amount of play $ in doge (via robinhood) that is currently at a loss but its so small I don't think about it. Never considered moving coins to cold storage because the only time I think I had actual coins was that initial coinbase ETH trade. I have always assumed that my purchases via robinhood are just "shares" of a commodity unless I were to convert them? Correct me if i'm wrong. When I've filed my taxes, they have just been listed as long or short term capital gains trades along with my other stock trades.... I am very interested in SOL, i'm just not so much interested in coinbase. It's been a long time but I assume its still a fee to convert USD to SOL, then another fee to convert the SOL back to USD, all before taxes. I'd like to avoid those additional fees but if they are not too much, I may dust off the coinbase account. I could get on board with a 60-70% split BTC / ETH and SOL with 10-20% in a miner and 10-20% cash for dips. Do you have any thoughts in CIFR in particular? or is there something you prefer bout the ones you listed?

you're one of the few, if not the only very pro crypto poster whose opinion I respect. 90sbaby to a degree. Let's say you're a trader like me. What 2-3 buys would you make now, or in the very near future to take advantage of a runup to the halving? (April, right?) Would you simply go BTC?... do you think ETH would come along for the ride almost in lock step? any merit to a miner like CIFR at a low price point with easy 2x-3x potential? SOL, even though I would need to trade that via coinbase and incur more fees than something I can buy "shares" of on robinhood/etrade? Open to any suggestions (along with my own research)
