Round Four-Six Commentary - July Mock 2024

McLaurin was also on my radar at 5.4 and I figured Kincaid would not last to 6.9. Very high on him. -

I had a list of about 7 receivers and flowers was in it. But I wanted to go bold with Nabers. There’s no doubt the volume should be there, imo. -

Kamara... had my eye on him since making my last pick. Ideally not a great pair with Hall because of bye weeks but couldn't pass him up here. 75 receptions 1100 yards and 6 TDs last season while missing 4 games. I think he fends off the competition for 1 more season. -

Just Ignore the Media Experts: They Have No Clue
WhiteWonder replied to wolves111's topic in FFToday Board
The only differences between 95% of the FF “experts” and guys who simply take FF seriously are time and a platform. Sure, there are guys like Adam Schefter who like to get into fantasy and are legitimately in the know, but most of the Adam Ranks of the world are only considered experts because it’s their job, they are provided with a platform, and their working hours are dedicated to it. There are dozens of guys who frequent FFT who you could pluck and drop on the set of NFL Fantasy Live and would provide far superior insight -
Round One-Three Commentary - July Mock 2024
WhiteWonder replied to Mike FF Today's topic in The Mocking Station
True but I believe the July Mock is still intended to be mocked as if it were a regular 12 team redraft, not specifically as a best ball league or a best ball total points league. We only started doing that a few years ago for fun to track things. sometimes hard not to draft a little bit with that in mind but as a tool for the site I would say monster weeks followed by unstartable weeks makes Achane a riskier pick in regular redraft … if that’s what you think he will be. -

1.4 Breece Hall - it’s no secret I am big on Hall. I was between Hall and Chase with this pick but I felt there were enough receivers that I would be happy with a duo I could get at the 2/3 turn and still even take my RB2 there if I wanted 2.9 Drake London - I expected him to go sooner. Seems like MHJ has moved up the board and London maybe down a bit more toward where I am comfortable taking him… at least for this mock. So I was very happy he lasted 3.4 I like James Cook but Hall has a week 12 bye (as does London) so I’m glad he wasn’t staring me in the face. I had one receiver initially penciled in but decided to go with Pittman. I am a little concerned with what I still feel is a bit of unknown at QB over there but I am at least confident that Pittman will be fed regardless. fairly pleased thus far. No one I hoped or thought would last to my pick was sniped. Have not felt like I had to “settle” yet, so it’s all been my own choices… if that makes any sense. -

of course he was going to be adamant that he wasn't giving up. If there is any question about it, you're certainly going to try to sound convincing in an election year... not "well, lets see, i'll think about it". He was forced out. It's party politics. Dems/Libs, ever since 2020, have been hyper focused on "Trump bad!, beat Trump!, "We're gonna get him!" way more so than focusing on the person they have in office. Biden wasn't the best candidate to be potus in 2020, he was the best candidate to beat Trump. Those are two different things. ... we are seeing more of the democratic party being hyper focused on "anything to beat Trump" with these latest events. Fortunately for republicans or Trumpers, Kamala is probably his best shot to win. Dems waited too long and are kind of stuck with her. The fact that she represents the last 4 years won't bode well. A fresh face would easily beat Trump if there was enough time for that, but it's the 11th hour. If/when Trump wins, the cries of "the world is ending" will be like we have never seen before. Liberal crying meme X1000. TTSD centers will be set up across the country. By 2028, most of those crying liberals lives will be unchanged. -

the breakdown for majors is 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Also, Fumble came in 4th over Pat via tie breaker with his top golfer being -4. So yes, Fumble and Edjr did indeed tie for 2nd place in the edex cup. i bolded the corrections @edjr $125 to @Fumbleweed -

I would have nabbed Chase at 5, considered taking him vs Hall. -

He is talented enough to do better. I think this is a little bit where the o-line issues and QB play comes into the equation. I think what he did last year was very impressive considering teams could stack the box and the Jets had so many injuries on the line. Saquon, for example, had less yards on more carries (also playing behind a crap o-line). He may have failed to surpass 1k yards but he was 13th overall in rush yards. Granted he played 17 games.
