How much are your health insurance costs rising?

I am aware that joining ACA is a choice. It sounded like your question was asking how is giving the money directly to people different from the government giving it to the insurance companies, so it sounded like you were talking about ACA and people who use it. If you need/want advanced tax credits from the government to help reduce your premiums, you're going through obamacare. Obamacare limits your choices for providers and plans. You can choose to buy whatever insurance you want, but not if you want APTC. For example, I know people who get their insurance through the NJ marketplace and Aetna is not an option. There are maybe 3-4 insurance companies that participate with limited plans offered. I assume that those options shrink further when you take into consideration if the persons preferred doctors are in network or not. So again, one difference between the government giving $ to the insurance companies or giving it to the person who will then give it to the insurance companies is that the person gets to pick whatever insurance company and plan they want and essentially apply the APTC they are receiving directly.

How much are your health insurance costs rising?

I am not an expert on the topic (neither are you, I assume) but as I understand it, people on ACA are limited in their choice of provider/plan. So all of the advanced tax credits that go from the government directly to those providers could theoretically go to the consumer instead, which would allow them to choose any provider or plan they want rather than just the ones offered to them when they apply. That is one big difference off the top of my head.

Maybe, maybe not. You do realize that a lot of what we see, in all areas, can be attributed to administrations decisions from a decade+ ago, right? Sometimes it's because of an action or policy of the current but sometimes there is cause and effect going back many years. sometimes its negative and sometimes it's positive. In this case, ACA is probably the biggest healthcare related event in quite some time, so someone bringing up Obama is perfectly understandable. learn to think objectively and not so much with feelings.

Churn 'N Burn: Post Week 11 waiver wire

I'm not forcing the issue with Iosivas for one week although hed be up there with Mooney if you need a WR or flex play. Bill can be dropped at this point and actually if Chris Rodriquez is out there, he might be a free add with a bye this week for anyone needing RB help for the final 2 week stretch before playoffs. 3 Tds in his last 5 games and 7 ppr points or more in 4 out of 5. Most importantly, 33 carries in the last 3 weeks as Bill has faded. Worth an end of bench dart throw I think.

2nd Half Heroes- Buy Lows, Trade Targets & Waiver Scooperuppers

I am wondering on this. Penix has locked on to London since he took over last year (sux for all my London shares… which is 100% of leagues haha) but Mooney was pretty good with Cousins under center in 2024. 6 games with 5+ receptions, 6 games with 80+ yards and 5 total TDs. Even if you remove his 31 point outlier week, Mooney had fantasy totals of 20,19,18,17,14,14. About half his games with Cousins (and London in the fold)

Hurry Up Offense 100% of the Time

It amazes me that people still seriously suggest this. It's almost as if they never played sports on any high school level or above. It's not sustainable. It looks good when they do it because they have not completely gassed themselves yet and as someone else already mentioned, it tends to happen in times where the defense is playing soft coverage. Now if you want to say why don't they run it a bit more often? Like every 4th drive or something, okay. That might be plausible. Or just play with a slightly greater sense of urgency (3-4 seconds off the play clock, or mix in a few more quick snap plays).. but it's definitely not going to be as successful if you run it 100% of the time

    Expensive kitchen knives

I’ve yet to get rid of any knives because they didn’t last. More so I just liked the look of something different and even then I’ve had 2 knife “sets”. I assume my food tastes relatively the same no matter what I cut it with during prep or after . I occasionally sharpen them. Maybe I should take my knives more seriously (I’m being serious)

obviously from my previous comment, I'm not a knife guy. Can't you get a Henckels knife set for $100-$200, maybe $250? (this i did not know without looking up) and isn't henckels made in chiner with zwillings being made in germany? (this i vaguely remember someone telling me in the past)

    Turkey prices up 70 percent

some thing are, some things are not. I've never seen a president not campaign on lower costs. I wonder what Kamala's plan would have been. I'm glad we agree that the level of TDS and "day one" is absurd, given how politicians operate.

And democrats/msm told Biden voters he was mentally sharp as a tack and they were wrong. The amount of hanging on to "day one" is laughable, especially coming from all the hardcore political hacks around here. They should be well aware that campaign promises almost always take longer than stated or don't ever materialize at all.

you really need to learn how to argue/debate. saying "free at most local churches and food banks" has nothing to do with anything. They will turn around and say more people are going to churches and food banks because they can't afford it in stores.

2026 Baseball Hall of Fame ballot released...

talk about a ton of blah. Beltran and Jones should make it over any of the new names aside from maybe Hamels when you include his postseason success. Gio Gonzalez?

How does this place still exist?

the main bored is a sad shell of what it used to be. it was the reason I joined. discussion and debate used to be great with people who knew football. lots of people and lots of differing opinions and ff theory. It probably died at least a decade ago as it became nothing more than some kids playing characters like weepaws.

I was just letting you know what Lidl was in general. I discovered it around 2017 and there was a convenient location on my way home from work at the time. When egg prices were out the azz, I would get mine from Lidl instead of ShopRite, for example. Same with almond milk. (I prefer whole milk but I don't use milk enough for it to not go bad and I do like almond) I suppose I prefer Califia Farms but Lidl almond milk is perfectly good and like half the price also no matter where you shop, in so many cases the store brand item is the exact same thing as the name brand item, just with a different label. Not all of the time, but more than you probably think... it's just marketing.

ah, expensive knives. one of the great all time scams (in the sense that every day people who cook a little bit, even a decent amount, don't need expensive knife sets)

Lidl is similar to Aldi. I've only been maybe twice this year as it's not as convenient for me as it used to be but I used to go all the time. I've always tried to shop smartly if it doesn't cause me to go out of the way of my normal routines. Lidl has always been less expensive than the traditional supermarkets around me. "name brand" stuff is cheaper, and their own label stuff is usually a great deal. Again, people get fooled into thinking generic is worse. If you need a specific type of asiago cheese, yes, you need that brand.... but your canned corn is not going to be any different.

    Maye for MVP!

Maye is theoretically doing more with less not throwing to Puka and Adams.... More yards, less TDs, more INTs, higher completion percentage. They are neck and neck but again, Maye is throwing to Diggs, Henry, Pop Douglas.... If the season were ending today, it probably should be Maye but would be Stafford because the whole career achievement aspect will come into play and Stafford has never won a league MVP.

oh no, are you one of those people who get fooled by name brand stuff or think that target store brand is any different than any grocery store brand? of course making your own sides from scratch with quality ingredients is preferred but most people are not doing that for every aspect of their t-day meal
