If Rodgers, Mosely and Breece Hall stay healthy, Jets are going to win Super Bowl
WhiteWonder replied to Tivoli's topic in FFToday Board
How many dump offs did Jimmy G throw to "McCaff"? 5 games worth in 2022? He is a system QB who functioned very well in the 49ers offense whenever under center. Saleh's Jets are built in a similar manner. Very strong defense, a good running system (we saw Carter and Knight do well, not just Breece... reminiscent of next man up in the 49er run game all these years), Wilson > Aiyuk. What the Jets lack is a do it all guy like Deebo and a TE like Kittle. But a healthy Hall is more explosive than anyone the 49ers had on offense prior to CMC. Neither player is Rodgers but from a Jets fan perspective, early in the process, you've got two high character team guys who were going to be less expensive and be with the team more than 1-2 seasons... versus weird Rodgers and his darkness retreat, who didn't like helping younger players learn the offense, was going to cost draft capital and more $$. Once Carr and Jimmy were off the board, of course I wanted Rodgers because no way I wanted to see the talent get wasted with QB play like we got in 2022.... but now the team needs to really be thinking not just about being all in for 1-2 seasons but how to make sure the window stays open beyond that for all this young talent (Wilson, Hall, Sauce, DJ Reed, Q-Williams, AVT, etc) -

You shouldn't want to take anyone at 80% health. That's not how things work in the NFL. -

Rodgers hasn't won anything of significance in a lesser QB conference in over a decade. Roughly the same time the Jets were last making AFC title games under Sexy Rexy. Couldn't even beat the Lions in the final week last season to make the playoffs. What makes anyone think that Rodgers is somehow running the gauntlet of Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Herbert, Lawrence etc and winning a Super Bowl? Maybe he has a newfound chip on his shoulder. Maybe this defense being the best he's had in a while and having comparable weapons on offense to his days with Adams and Jones in GB will give him a boost. It's more or less the reason I preferred Carr or Jimmy G over Rodgers. Rodgers is a HOFer, sure, but 2 years of Rodgers and then ?? when this team has a ton of young talent and should have a window of greater than 2 years to win. Plus Rodgers hasn't been a team first guy, although thankfully he is acting the part thus far. Plus don't forget, Jimmy G... in the right system... has navigated a team to the SB much more recently. I think it is more likely that the Jets fail to win the division, earn a wildcard, but go on to win a few playoff games and ultimately lose in the AFC Title game. -
is the stake moveable? If so, I believe it's on him to move it. If it's not moveable, then without looking anything up, I would wonder too. I guess regardless of being a man made obstruction, it would be the same as bouncing off a sprinkler head.

I considered him with my last pick. Ultimately I decided McKinnon had more value as the receiving back in the KC offense than Harris did as the GL back in the Bills offense with Allen often rushing. I also think James Cook will get some of that work where as I don't think Pacheco is much of a threat to take away backfield receiving opportunities from Jerrick. 10 TDs is not likely to happen again though and Harris would have absolutely been on my radar with my next set of selections, as the James Cook owner. -

Even as someone who usually waits, I agree. I used to be able to comfortably wait until rounds 8/9/10.... now it seems to be rounds 5/6. This obviously depends on my target... I think when Mahomes was my main redraft target his first season as the starter, I was able to wait a little longer. Even longer when I had Dak pegged his rookie season.... but last year with Hurts, round 6 was the longest I could wait and it seems the same this year with Fields/Lawrence. I may start to give some thought to stacking Tua with someone net yet drafted which might allow me to wait until round 8 or 9 -

@worm hell of a steal on Tua as a QB2. Sure, he might be one hit away from retiring but the upside is a top 5 QB. -

Thomas was good in three games last year. With an upgrade at QB, it’s just a matter of health. A big if… but if healthy, I think there is a pretty solid floor here. -

this was partly my philosophy in the June Mock, though I went a little overboard with it. My intention was to go RB-RB, which I did but at the same time did not expect the RB talent to still be there at 3.10 and 4.02 in a standard scoring format. That said, there were still WR's I liked a lot when I took my first.... in round 7 participating in mocks like these has , at the moment, led me to feel like my preference is to go WR/RB or WR/WR then go heavier on RB for the next few rounds (with QB and TE where the value dictates) and then turn my attention back to WR by rounds 8/9 for my #3 WR and on. -

was hoping Mattison might fall to 5.10, when he didn't I decided to grab my QB target. Only 1 team picking after me didn't have a QB but Lawrence is my "next difference maker" at QB for 2023 so didn't want to risk it. Tossup between him and Fields. Fields might have a little more upside but also more risk. Cook could pay off nicely and I took him partially because of bye weeks at RB. -

This is true. I guess the way I look at it is someone like Hurts was a 6th rounder last year (he was my target in a lot of my redrafts). I enjoy waiting and trying to pinpoint the next difference maker but also understand the value in taking the already established difference maker.
