Charlie Woods (14) wins 1st of many (team) High School Golf Championships

I heard he was 3rd or 4th best on his own team edit: just read the article. He came in 26th place, 4th on his own team. I know I sound like a hater, and it is florida where they grow golfers, but my point is he's not some sort of golf prodigy. With Tiger to teach him and all the resources he must have at his disposal, it's kind of funny.... and the media is almost as bad with him as they were slobbing Tiger's knob, which was at least deserved. -
a former company I worked for had 4 C's in their mission statement. Never seen it used in a training or 'get to know you' type exercise. Interesting. - SUV (if thats too general then Ford Explorer) - Purple - Mexican - Tr .... ummm Bob from Bob's Burgers.

if only there were no "OG"'s who also love political slapfighting. but agreed -
even if he accepted a pure PG role, he wouldn't fit. He was never a pure PG and I don't think he'd make a good one at this stage in his career. He can pass, but pure PGs don't stop the ball. Elite scorers do. Pure PGs play some defense. Pure PGs are leaders. Not disagreeing with you, just adding to it. When certain big men get older they can relinquish their scoring role and focus on rebounding/shot blocking etc and it can work. Some combo guards who are elite shooters can focus on just being shooters and it can work.

no paved road, a creek, good ole rural lifestyle.... plus that 6 car garage and pool -
Just an attempt, I think, to create more meaningful games during the season and keep the stars on the court. Basically it seems the season plays out like normal but certain games are designated is "in season tournament" games. those games count for the regular record but also the in season tourney record... So the Nets have played 3 games designated for the tournament and they are 2-1 in group C of the tourney (with boston, chicago, orlando and toronto). 6 groups total, 3 in the east 3 in the west. Each group has a winner and each conference has a wildcard. so 8 teams advance to bracket play. Winner gets 500k or something. this is simply what i have gleaned from listening to broadcasts and seeing the standings on nba.com

I think it just boils down to teams thinking he's a superstar and that it will buy them that title. and he technically is a superstar and can play like one, though not as often as he used to. What bothers me is how these teams don't see that the chemistry issues he creates are not worth the risk. Especially when you're giving up actual valuable assets. Want to trade the farm for a guy like Leonard? Go for it. Guy is a proven winner. Harden is not, and when you're on the back end of your career, I think you need to have proven you can get it done for teams to give up so much for your services.

I posted it because of my avatar, naturally, but he was a pretty entertaining dude. Glad he has his own day

Harden has to be the worst thing in sports. Sixers fans were giddy to get him and unload Simmons. Like it was title time. Yet Embiid is the only league MVP to never play in a conference finals... I totally understand the teams he plays for giving in and trading him to his desired destination. Might as well get SOMETHING back for him or he's just going to nurse phantom injuries or half ass it anyway. What I don't understand is why any team even makes an offer at all. Should let the guy rot on the bench and then as an unsigned free agent. A team like the clippers with ultimate winner Kawhi, Paul George... even Westbrook to an extent, a healthy Mann and a token big euro white dude who rebounds is thinking title contention right? Why trade for Harden? You don't have to add another name for the sake of adding a name. He's not the missing piece. If he had forced his way to teams in the past and immediately won a title before things fell apart, then maybe I could understand it.... but he doesn't win. What is the allure?

i would also have assumed that warmer temps and no snow fall means they don't have to roam around as much for food. ... but i'm no hunter and would suspect if you know the land really well, that would actually benefit you as the hunter... . My father and grandfather were big into it. Grandmothers basement looks like a prepper's wet dream. For a little while after my grandfather passed, my dad would still go out to PA to deer hunt but lately he sticks to pheasant. My brother is into it a little bit but I think its mostly to have something to do with my dad. I just stick to fishing / crabbing and golfing with him.

This is a fantasy football board… so yes he had and will still have some rust to knock off but regardless of his shortcomings as a real nfl QB, he has top 5 fantasy upside on any given week. It’s proven.

UPDATE: Justin Jefferson - Chest Injury Wk 14
WhiteWonder replied to bimmer's topic in FFToday Board
No reason to rush him. But certainly he will be back with the Vikings in the thick of the hunt… where as there was some speculation he might get shut down if they fell out of the race. -
Probably a reason he spent most of the season as a free agent. They obviously like murray as a power back and Cook is their most talented

No i knew what you meant and feel the same way and I don’t have kids. I think everyone has felt the impact. A big one for me was visiting my grandmother during covid and really noticing a huge change in her cognitive functioning. Wasn’t sure if it was old age flipping like a switch or if it was the complete lack of social interaction and her daily routine. For someone like her, it took away her entire life (going to church, senior bus trips to Atlantic City, going to the local diner with her little group of friends, etc) so I started visiting once or twice a week so she had someone to interact with. After a while I felt like she was much more her usual self.

Not bad. Jets would obviously be in the mix with Rodgers. Atlanta was looking good then some ugly losses. Everyone else seems squarely in it if not favored.
-
Maybe that’s why they don’t give him more work

Not only asking this because I have some shares of Cook in fantasy but I’m genuinely wondering why the Bills refuse to give him more work. I get the temporary fumble benching… kinda. But I mean in a general all season long sense. I love Murray as a player but they insist on trotting him out way too often when Cook is the better back by most metrics. I think Cook had 6 rushes last week, for example. Just like they seemed to constantly underutilized Singletary when he was there until that one late season stretch into the playoffs.

It feels like it. I mean they have wins over Buffalo and Philly and played KC close so it could be a split of these next two but to not at least split the LAC/LV games is sad. I hate defending Zach Wilson because I never wanted to draft him. He was a forced pick in a draft class that didn't have a worthy QB after Lawrence and he was an immature d-bag... but I think he's getting unfairly killed in the NY media. It seems like he embraced being mentored by Rodgers. Certainly didn't expect to be thrown back into the fire after 4 snaps. He's not getting them in the endzone and hes taking some bad sacks but last year he would have tossed it up into the middle of the field rather than take the sack and have it picked off. As much as I didn't like him he has tons of arm talent and he has mobility. He made 1 bad mistake last night and of course it was in a bad spot. Can't blame him for all the penalties and continued undisciplined play. Why is CJ Uzomah still on the team? I don't get it.
