Supreme Court considers Biden’s student loan debt relief plan

I never criticized degrees. I don't disagree at all with what this silicon valley engineer says. I've heard this sentiment many many times and I agree completely. Nothing in my posts is critical of college degrees.

Supreme Court considers Biden’s student loan debt relief plan

tightening lending policies directly addresses the problem. giving handouts (loan forgiveness) makes some people happy but fixes nothing. In fact, it only helps show people there are no consequences for their actions. Sure, banks were lending to anyone and everyone but the individual homeowners were still the ones putting pen to paper, knowing full well they couldn't really afford those loans.

Supreme Court considers Biden’s student loan debt relief plan

imagine people choosing to borrow money, knowing they may not be able to afford to pay it back or that it may be tight, choosing to do so anyway and then being told "oh, hey, don't worry about it"... it's a great way to teach fiscal responsibility. handouts do nothing but perpetuate poor decision making. No one forces a person to take out a student loan. You have the choice to go somewhere less expensive or maybe not go at all. If you choose to borrow money, you should expect to pay it all back under the terms of your loan. This is the real world. Is it sometimes a shame? absolutely. That's why the focus should be on the real issue.... crooked universities and the insane rising tuition. Loan forgiveness is/was nothing more than an attempted vote grab. Solves no issues. Simply designed to make a certain group of people happy

thank god they shot down this idiotic nonsense. imagine during the mortgage crisis if the solution had been to forgive mortgage loan debt rather than tackling the source of the problem (needing MUCH stricter lending policies for banks)

    2023 Draft and Season Discussion

I'd love a potential vote for next season to expand rosters by 2. I think it would help with the teams who have to do so much shuffling of players on a daily basis, which only gets worse after the AS Supplemental. Although I guess for certain teams that is just the strategy they have to deploy.

I definitely have him as an RB1, I just think it's funny how quick people are to declare him a top 5 fantasy pick because of his NFL draft capital. My top 12, in PPR, includes at least 3 WR's and a TE... so saying I have him in the 13-15 range is not meant to be any kind of slight and still has him as an RB1 in 12 team leagues.

RB alone I have him in the 8-10 range. Which doesn't change much taking all positions into consideration in a non PPR. all of my redraft leagues are PPR or .5 PPR in which case I probably have him 13/14 at the moment.

Bijan won't be on any of my redraft teams, I suspect. Clearly the #8 overall pick is not getting benched (no one is saying that), but I also don't think Allgier is going away. Unless Atlanta starts winning early on, there would be little reason not to manage Bijan's workload to some degree. using that kind of draft capital on the RB position means he is going to be key 2-3 years from now when Atlanta hopes it has built up the rest of the team enough to be contenders. I wouldn't mind being wrong at all, I just don't see him being a top 5 pick, and in a redraft he doesn't happen to be in my top 12. Look how far Kenneth Walker is falling because Seattle drafted Charbonnet. So on a better team, the simple idea of another back in the rotation drops Walker almost a full round in ADP, but on a worse team with another back in the rotation.... who we have already seen play well at the NFL level.... and Bijan is an early first rounder?

    June Mock Completed

The annual June Mock is mainly for fftoday.com as an instrument/article. Fumbleweed takes the teams and runs a "no hassle" (best ball) league for bragging rights among the drafters. Being that non-ppr is no longer "standard" scoring, and being that all the mock drafters are well seasoned FF veterans who do this mock together each year, it usually makes for some interesting selections and unique strategies. Put it this way... it's completely different than feeling like you dominated every typical ESPN or Yahoo mock. Thanks for the well wishes and input at the other forum

*2023 June Mock Draft No-Hassle Analysis*

Thanks for the analysis, Fumble. As always! As I posted near the end of the draft in the 11-16 discussion thread, I actually question my pick of Jacobs more than my pick of Mattison. I think the quality of WR I could have opted for instead would have been more impactful. Even though I agree with your take on Jacobs lasting that long. In non PPR, I was mildly surprised with how far both Chubb and Jacobs fell. As for my WR group, my intention was not to state that WR are a dime a dozen or that I am any more high on my particular picks at the position than other drafters. The resulting team construction was more of a simple product of how the draft fell to me and deciding I was not going to force WR for the sake of forcing WR when certain value (Jacobs, Mixon, Kittle) was staring me in the face. My receiver group bombed spectacularly last year (and I definitely picked Mike Evans in round 3). I don't see a scenario where this collective groups performs any worse. I would expect them to perform better. Especially adding a 6th for depth. In that regard, I did take the BB format into consideration a bit more than we are supposed to do while conducting this mock.

    **Round Eleven-Sixteen Commentary**

My Self Analysis Maybe this belongs in Fumble's analysis thread. Might move it there... but as this draft wraps up and I am left needing only my DST and Kicker, I figured it was as good a time as any to analyze what I did from the 10th spot. QB: Trevor Lawrence, Jordan Love RB: Nick Chubb, Josh Jacobs, Alexander Mattison, Joe Mixon WR: Tyler Lockett, Kadarius Toney, Michael Thomas, Allen Lazard, Van Jefferson, Romeo Doubs TE: George Kittle, Juwan Johnson Possibly an unpopular opinion / hot take but Nick Chubb is my #1 overall in standard scoring formats. I was elated to get him 10th. With less competition for touches on a team I still expect to run quite a bit but be a better offense as a whole, I'm all in. If i'm being honest, I probably would have made a different selection at 2.3, had I known the quality of RB available to me in rounds 3 and 4. It was tough to pass on Garrett Wilson and CeeDee Lamb at the time but I talked myself into RB under the initial assumption that i'd be happier with the receivers in rounds 3 and 4. Then we actually got to 3.10 and I was proven wrong. There was WR talent that I like (Metcalf, Allen, Jeudy) but Mattison and Mixon were too good to pass up. I was back and forth on both at 3.10, so having Mixon fall to 4.03 meant I was going to be in for a unique draft Rounds 5 and 6 presented me with another interesting decision. I knew I would be losing out on some receivers I liked (McLaurin, Godwin, Kirk) but at that point, it seemed like much better value to grab a TE and QB who I feel can be top 2 and top 5 respectively at their positions this season. Kittle is not without risk and I am likely higher on Lawrence than most but I think addressing these positions at this point in the draft made my overall roster stronger with much higher upside. ...which brings us to the forgotten WR's. My WR group last year wound up being absolutely awful, even with Garrett Wilson picked late. While this group won't turn any heads, it certainly can't produce any worse than my 2022 bunch. I expect Lockett to have 1 more season of a relatively high floor, despite the addition of JSN. Toney has tremendous upside. Thomas was great in his whopping 3 games last season and gets a QB upgrade. Lazard should benefit from familiarity with Rodgers and defensive attention toward Wilson. Jefferson looks to be the #2 for Stafford and Doubs, from reports, seems to be clicking with Love. That is the good but there are certainly risks with each and every one and that helped play into my decision to go with a 4/6 split at RB/WR rather than a 5/5. I love Johnson as a 2nd TE. I think Carr can help him take the next step. I don't LOVE Love as a QB2... basically a rookie with learning experience and some decent weapons on offense. Overall, I like the team despite the unique approach. As mentioned, If I had a mulligan it would have been pick 2.3. Chubb, Mattison and Mixon would have been a perfectly great trio at RB and Wilson or Lamb would have made for a much more palatable WR core.

I hope Irv smith can finally realize his potential this year. He will definitely be a frequent TE2 target of mine in real drafts with his upside in the bengals offense. I was hoping Van Jefferson would make it back to me. He had good chemistry with Stafford in 2021 if I’m remembering correctly and he now has a clear path to the WR2 role.

I don't trust that passing offense to produce enough for the 3 WR's there, of which I think Claypool will be 3rd in the pecking order... possibly 4th if we count Kmet. But I do agree, he has the big upside, which plays nice in a best ball.

Wanted Stafford. Settled for Love just to be done with the position with one of the few remaining options I feel good will be starting weekly. Juwan Johnson I am high on this season.
