There are so many municipalities fireworks around me that we really don't get any streets or neighborhoods putting on any sort of legit fireworks shows. Might have a block party where someone has a dozen to fire off but if im in the mood i'll just go to one of the township shows or to a friends with a clear view of one.

Leaf Blower Ban Takes Effect This Tuesday, July 1; Violations Carry $500 Fine
WhiteWonder replied to Maximum Overkill's topic in The Geek Club
the endless droning of leaf blowers? I really hope you are being sarcastic. Hell, I see more people raking up piles of leaves than even using leaf blowers of any kind. And I would list the distant sound of someone mowing their lawn as one of the classic signs or nostalgic sounds of spring/summer after dreary winter has ended. -
Let Us Play A Political Bumper Sticker Game

Unburdened By What Has Been... (smiling Trump image) -
obviously it's her image that keeps everyone watching.. is this a real question?

The difference between Obama and Trump is that Obama is a lifelong, polished politician. Trump was not even close to that in 2016. So really, what you felt about Obama was much more indicative of politics as a whole and the democratic party as a whole. I really don't even believe Trump would be a republican if any independent candidate actually had a chance to win in our pseudo democracy.

what world have you lived in your entire life? Politics is almost 100% about politicians looking out for themselves and their political future. It's not even really being bullied as much as it is "If I fall in line, this will benefit my career".

I have stopped myself from starting a few threads that were a little more specific than this one, but more or less with the same line of thinking. I don't consider myself to be any sort of liberal, especially the modern day liberal. Am I pro abortion? Yes. Am I pro gun control? Yeah, kind of. I won't expand on these stances unless someone wants me to. Am I an environmentalist? Yes Do I believe in global warming to the fear mongering extent? Nope. I am also anti illegal immigration, pro border control, pro deportation, and totally against funding other countries wars that they can't win so we can avoid taking a hard line stance. I can't stand liberals but that may just be that I can't stand TDS liberals or this current form of liberal. For example it boggles my mind how anyone can rationally argue for biological men in womens sports or how anyone can rationally argue that illegal immigrants deserve to be here. My aunt who I am very close with is probably the most liberal person in my immediate family. She's considered herself a proud liberal since the 70's. Unfortunately, like most liberals, I don't think she realizes that her party has devolved into a party that thrives on the oppression of minorities and really has nothing to stand on aside from manufacturing new social issues to remain relevant. Also she has become a classic TDS person. For example, whenever I speak to her she always finds a way to slip in how she has to be careful with her spending because of how bad her investments are doing, etc. I am fully aware she is trying to bait me into a conversation about Trump/ the economy because she knows I voted for him and she knows that many people who did pointed to how he would be better for their investments. However, she has continued this even as the market has more than recovered from the initial tariff led drops. She has MSNBC on almost 24/7... so yea.

He is definitely one of the guys I am considering pairing with Justin Fields if I go with a usual tactic of being the last to draft my QB. While he lost Evan Engram, I think it's reasonable to say the addition of Hunter and Liam Coen and Thomas entering year 2 are all big positives. Although, I would caution against saying Lawrence is way more talented. I honestly don't think Baker gets enough credit.

It was probably the first example, and I remember taking a stab on him that next season probably a little earlier than most would have. As for not seeing it happen since I would point to Breece Hall, who tore his ACL in late October 2022 and returned for the 2023 season to put up 1,500 yards and 9 scores. In late drafts I was having to pick him in the 6th round. Not exactly the same situation since Peterson was injured 2 months later and came back to have a historic season 2,300 yards and 13 scores. He was a freak though, so I think Hall's return in 2023 is somewhat comparable, especially in PPR formats.

The title read like something posted by Nobody. Not hot takes for the sake of not hot takes. As for Daniels, I owned him in every league last year as my QB1 as the 11th or 12 person to draft a starter. I would hope that Allen, Burrow and Jackson all go ahead of him. I would have him 4th with Hurts after... I don't see myself with any of those 5 in redraft this year.... The value then actually becomes Mahomes, imho. If Rice is healthy and no suspension, if Hollywood is healthy, one last season of Kelce and expected growth from Worthy and I think Mahomes will give back the best value relative to draft position this year. After Mahomes and Mayfield are selected, the guy I expect to take in a lot of leagues is Bo Nix. I won't reach for him but Mahomes and Nix are the two guys I will start to consider.

Remember, draft order is reverse order of standings at the end of Week 14 Draft is NOT a snake draft. Order is the same for both rounds. *** Any players NOT rostered will be eligible to be drafted! ***

All Star Supplemental Draft starting Monday 7/14 at noon ET Please remember to have all players you wish to protect on your roster by 12PM Eastern time on the 14th. Rosters will be considered LOCKED and unowned players will be available for anyone to draft. There will be no adding of exclusive players after the 12PM deadline. The end of this week (week 14) will determine the draft order since week 15 runs through the AS Break

Well, like I said, it's not a big deal and I agree with TBay's main point regardless (and generally he is one of the posters I like around here)... but since there was back and forth bickering and this is a message board, I felt compelled to point out that TimHack, oddly, wasn't wrong. As for the real topic at hand, my initial reaction was "way to start gaining a little traction and success only to immediately decide to water down the product". As I thought about it more, I can see some validity to feeling like this may be the best opportunity to expand into certain markets like Philly and Cleveland. I think it's a missed opportunity not to be expanding to Boston. Some of the women gaining popularity right now all seem to be straight white women such as Clark, Beuckers, Van Lith, Cunningham. Boston would seem like the best area to expand. Granted, liberals would rather a biological man be the face of womens sports than a straight white female.

you initially said the finals got the highest rating in 6 years. Now it's game 7 specifically. again, I don't care because I understand your overall point and you didn't really need to include any specific numbers to back it up. but I can also understand Mooney correcting you. that is all
-
like i said, it's not really important Though I think if the number was 2, that would be very significant and we would be having some serious discussion at to why. So while I agree, the actual number does not matter in terms of 6.2 vs 6.1 etc etc, you came with a specific number of 6.7 for playoff rating this year and a specific claim that it was the highest rated finals in 6 years. Mooney may be nitpicking but you started off with specific numbers and claims and backpedaled to simple notions (NBA having higher ratings) so i'm not going to totally fault the guy for discussing the numbers.
-
reading the back and forth, it's not really important but i'd say Mooney is right. You can't make the claims you were making based off what google AI overview told you with a link to NBA.com and then act like it's not your problem if you quoted numbers that were wrong.

Top Biden aide admits to Congress she directed autopen signatures without knowing who gave final approval
WhiteWonder replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
don't bother. they all get it, they just won't admit it -
Yeah, I gotta say i've mostly avoided this thread because anyone with common sense knows that Trump is many things.... brash, unhinged, delusional, self absorbed, pompous, and sometimes speaks without thinking.... but also anyone with common sense knows that a topic about his "cognitive decline" and health is trolling. The ones who were duped by their media into believing Biden was sharp as a tack, only to have them turn on the poor guy when it couldn't be hidden any longer are grasping because their guy and their party looked so bad in the process. Until Trump is walking around like a literal zombie, with seemingly no idea where he is, or until he looks into a camera and freezes mid sentence for several seconds. It's not even close. Biden had clear signs of legitimate dementia and then we find out he has aggressive prostate cancer, which had to be present while he was still in office. I'm not going to post the you tube video and I know its an edited golf vlog but when Trump played with Bryson last year, if you just watch that video, you clearly see a guy who can carry on a regular conversation and be completely present. I just can't imagine Biden in a 50-60 minute video like that.

Phase 1 all star voting was a nice microcosm of the issues for Tampa in that market in St Pete. The fact that they are building a new stadium there continues to boggle my mind. A team that is half a game behind the Wankees, 4th best record in the AL, 5th best run differential in the majors and they did not have a single player make phase 2 of all star voting. 3B Caminero - .260/.824 20HR 51RBI Leads all AL third basemen in home runs and RBI. Hard to argue against Jose Ramirez, I would think Caminero is more deserving than Bregman. 2B Lowe - .267/.784 16HR 43RBI Leads all AL second baseman in home runs and RBI. Torres and Holliday are the 2 finalists and Altuve was actually 3rd?? disrespectful. DH Diaz - .286/.803 12HR 44RBI When you remove Devers, Diaz ranks 1st in average, 3rd in HR and 1st in RBI among AL designated hitters. Ryan Ohearn and Ben Rice ahead of him? 1B Aranda - .329/.898 8HR 41RBI Leads all AL first baseman in average (3rd overall), ranks 10th in HR and 4th in RBI. Even though the power hasn't been there, The average and run production has been. Very comparable numbers to Vlad Jr and better than Goldy but Yankee fans actually vote. Bregman is hurt so I could see Caminero there as a reserve and in the HR Derby.... but it feels like Rasmussen will wind up going as a pitcher and no one else. It's shameful for such a good team.

Race baiting in Congressional hearing

There’s really not many politicians at all that are worth any focks. And she’s half right in that politicians of any gender just want their piece of the $ pie and power. -

I’m quoting a source… -
Umm sure. But your comments to him about contributions and expense ratios were quoting a post of his that seemed to be a continuation of a discussion on his gambling/trading account. Perhaps he had gone back to talking about a retirement account and like I said, probably lying about his trading account performance anyway. oh well not a big deal
