Blowouts will kill it. Have to stick to 1 or 2 games to minimize the risk of one blowout ruining your parlay. Will still happen though. 3 legs will get you that +400 normally but I like to lower someone’s points down let’s say from 28.5 to “25+” and do 4 legs

lol. Yes, we chart the value of btc relative to usd..., naturally... but I think my point has always been that the people who think it's replacing fiat and going to become the new standard, shouldn't really need to mention its value at all, relative to anything. You could stick to talking about where its being adopted, why it's valuable in and of itself, etc. I mean, after all, you're just continuing to accumulate until fiat is dead and your wealth is determined by the amount of btc you have, right? the thing is, most people investing in bitcoin or crypto are looking to increase their wealth in terms of USD, like any other investment opportunity.

i've made this point about various posters at least 50 times throughout this thread. nothing to do with personally liking or disliking bitcoin or crypto as an investment, just one of the more hilarious aspects of the narratives.

hit that over 2 of his last 3 starts. Only 3 of his last 10 though. but with Haliburton out and playing against washington, i'm willing to go with it. I will probably wait until tip off, hope he doesn't score a quick bucket, and use my 25% live profit boost on fanduel.

im not even talking about chain places. can't remember the last time I ordered from one. I did actually used to like pizza hut though. It's not a snob thing... i've discussed in other pizza threads that I enjoy a good red baron... there's just too many excellent pizza places in my area. unfortunately sometimes you try a new spot or even a place you're familiar with and their specialty pies are just too damn heavy. if i wanted a bacon cheeseburger I would have gone somewhere else.

a lot of the stuff in the video didn't seem too strange. the combinations maybe more so. I was thinking more along the lines of someone saying they like to put peanut butter on their pizza, or ground coffee or something slightly different but one of the things that will annoy me about pizza is topping overload. when places specialty pies are just too heavily loaded with shit. place we ordered from recently we got a buffalo chicken pie and there was so much buffalo sauce, ranch and chicken that the pie itself was a focking mess. Would have much rather had a plain pie and an order of wings. Same with a meat lovers. I'm sure some people love just a huge pile of toppings but I need a balance for it to be enjoyable.

it's a funny concept but you're right. wouldn't work for no cut events just because at the end of the day it would actually be more beneficial to just miss the cut than to make it and come in last. it might make for interesting side bets on occasion though.
-
I think it's all relative. Last year the Open championship winner was -14 and last place (among cut makers) was +12. a bigger gap than 1st to last in this event
-
unless missing the cut put you at 0 strokes

Packers already did the smart thing declining his 5th year option and signing him to that 1 year extension at less $$. Now they have seen what they have. Given what he did this year with a very young cast of weapons around him, aside from the backfield, and with a mostly injured Aaron Jones..... i'd expect him to get a big offer after next year, assuming he doesn't have some weird regression. Thats the luxury the Packers have but if all goes according to plan, $150M guaranteed at least.
-
hilarious if you had to pay each person in front of you a dollar per stroke difference. I'd owe Lager $5 and Jerry $3 Poor Daino would owe $109 spread out you want bithcing posts during an event, that would trigger it

Sort of went down a rabbit hole after reading an article on Rory's more recent backtracking comments regarding LIV. ... then to a response from Mickelson ... then one about Rory meeting with PIF and mentioning the team aspect of LIV. The world loves club soccer and golf is a global game. For the most part, Americans only care about the world cup.... barely. But we love golf and golf fans love the Ryder Cup, and to a lesser degree the Presidents cup. So do you think a league could ever gain traction largely because of that team golf concept that LIV has tried to adopt? In it's current form, I think it's just a slightly silly secondary or even tertiary aspect. But I do think there are some interesting things that could be done to make it much more appealing. 1. Come up with better club names. Crushers? Fireballs? Smash? . HyFlyers spelled Hy and the Iron Heads and Range Goats sound like single A baseball teams. 2. Less teams but larger teams. 12 teams with 4 golfers each and fluid rosters doesn't seem conducive to generating a following. 4 teams with 12, like 12 man Ryder Cup rosters might be more interesting. Even with annual turnover/trades you'd probably have a decent amount of team retention to start to build a fan base. Even a 6/8 split would be better. 3. What about non playing team captains? Has to be some older guys who would be interested in coming on board as club captains. And when the Mickelson's, Garcias, Stensons etc are done playing completely... they could stick around as club captains. Think about it, the 4 team captains riding around in carts talking to their players like we see during the Cups. 4. A season ending RC style event. Pretend it was 4 larger teams. Use the season standings to determine seeding. One week is #1 vs #4 and #2 vs #3 in a traditional Ryder Cup format. The next event pits the two previous winners against each other for the LIV Cup. interested if any of the golf fans have any thoughts, even the super anti LIV ones.
-
I think the vision LIV has, in terms of team golf, is that these teams would at some point have ownership groups like any team sport franchise. Imagine Mark Cuban owning the 4Aces. As presently constructed I don't think it would take off but I do think if they had fewer teams, comprised of more golfers, with better team names/logos....maybe. Their regular events would still be individual stroke play with a separate team element like it is now... but if they really want to push that angle, they should conclude each season with a RC style event among their teams.

keep my $50 and i will update the ledger
-
I'm talking more about the team concept as part of the entire golf league, more so than singular events where guys play as teams. It's what LIV is already doing, i'm just wondering if a few tweaks could lead to it actually gaining traction.
