no. San Fran -5.5 seems like a gift. Anything can be a trap but this just seems no brainer.

Interested to hear everyones ML and ATS picks for week 6 (maybe not every pick, but best bets welcomed. I have a $5 free bet that expires tomorrow so I'm going to have to use it on a regular parlay since most player props won't be out yet.

***2023 Fantasy Geek Balls League*** Season Thread
WhiteWonder replied to bostonlager's topic in The Geek Club
I lost JJ in 2 other leagues. I rarely get the #1 pick and got it twice this year. I never wavered on JJ vs CMC so I can't lament anything. Thankfully I am 5-0 and 4-1 in those leagues so hopefully i've bought myself a nice cushion until he returns and hopefully it's the minimum 4 games. -

ideally we would have 17 or 18 teams for that.... but for fun, this is how it would have played out thus far (minus the obvious X factor of the eliminated teams players being on new rosters) Week 1 - Cloaca gets the axe Week 2 - Rusty gone Week 3 - Alias D...one Week 4 - Horseman packs it in Week 5 - Shorepatrol eliminated (Rusty and AD would have already been out) -
well i tempered KC at 31 because of TNF, so I'm sort of also tempering Denver. If KC did score 31, Denver would need 19 for the over
-
if the game were Sunday, the spread is at least 50.5 I can see KC putting up 31. Can Denver score 18-20 is the question.

UPDATE: Justin Jefferson - Chest Injury Wk 14
WhiteWonder replied to bimmer's topic in FFToday Board
I own JJ in 2 redraft leagues. It sucks. But from a real football perspective, the numbers he puts up don't mean much. You're right, the defense is swiss cheese. They need to fix that and it has nothing to do with Jefferson. Obviously it's never ideal to lose your most talented offensive player but I don't think they are incapable of winning without him. I think that idea really only holds true when the star player that goes down is a QB. I can get behind the idea of trading Cousins but I would probably give it 3 more weeks. If they can beat chicago and green bay (and get crushed by the 49ers) I would think at 3-5 they would still be trying to win with the Falcons, Saints and Broncos on tap and JJ returning. Then again, waiting 3 weeks puts them like 2 days before the trade deadline so they would have to act fast. -

I am not proclaiming they are a playoff team or even saying I think they will win games, just saying they probably are not ready to declare the season over and trade him NOW, as you said they should. JJ is arguable the best WR in the NFL (case can be made for a few guys I think) but they do still have Hockenson, Addison and KJ Osborn has played well in the past. Mattison is an issue. Maybe they should give Akers more run. JJ doesn't play defense, which has been an issue. Only 3 forced turnovers this year. there are things the team needs to get fixed that are independent of losing Jefferson. -

Pretty much this. JJ may be big on winning but the chances of Cousins even being the QB in Minny beyond this season is pretty low unless they make the playoffs AND win a game or two. thats the only way I could see the Vikings entertaining re-signing him. As for a trade, he might be had for a 3rd if they deem their season over. In which case, the Jets make perfect sense. It seems ridiculous, on the surface, to keep trading for old QBs... but no one anticipated that injury for Rodgers. Wilson is playing better and has improved mentally but NY is not a super bowl contender with him. They would be with Kirk. Then Kirk is gone after this season and Rodgers is back for 2024. Wilson can remain in a backup role and continue learning, as was the plan, to see if he can be salvaged for life after Rodgers. -

where are we getting no chance to make the playoffs at 1-4? A couple more losses and sure but the NFC is very top heavy and not very good beyond SF, Philly and maybe Detroit. The other teams with winning records are Dallas, Atlanta, New Orleans and Seattle. Who do we trust in that group? Rattle off 2 wins and the entire narrative changes. -
Ever have one of those FF seasons that just make you question why you do it?
WhiteWonder replied to seafoam1's topic in FFToday Board
There was no "i told you so" in my response. Sorry if you took it that way. Obviously I did not tell you to start or sit any certain players. I said these types of threads provide comedy. Do you disagree that Kirk Cousins is the #3(#4 in ppg) scoring QB in fantasy right now? Do you disagree that players like Jaylen Waddle and Tony Pollard are healthy? Everyone is free to vent and I am equally free to comment on the venting... relax -

I would have started Herbert as well. Dillon vs Stevenson would have taken more thought as Stevenson hadn't hit double digit points since week 2 and while I was hoping Jones would play, he was iffy all week. without living off TDs, Sutton has had 1 very good game with high targets. I didn't say it was a slam dunk to start LaPorta but he was a popular play once ASB was ruled out. Coupled with going up against the Jets pass D (Sutton is not the talent that CeeDee and Diggs are) I think LaPorta was an easy choice. Not a slam dunk but an easy enough decision. the main takeaway is that start/sit decisions are part of FF. Sometimes they are tough and sometimes you wind up leaving points on the bench. Too many people just want no hassle best ball leagues or tons of flex spots rather than having to make decisions. -

these topics are always good for a laugh We got one guy calling Cousins useless (he is the #3 QB in FF currently, #4 in ppg), we've got skulls next to players who are not injured such as Jaylen Waddle who just had a team high 10 targets this week and a TD... are we just putting skulls next to player who missed a game? Gonna be a lot of skulls over a full season. Tony Pollard is injured? Another guy wants to play best ball because he thought it was a good idea to play Sutton against the Jets DST over Sam LaPorta with ASB out FF, like many things, is full of luck. There is a skill factor and a luck factor. Generally if you are good at FF you will overcome some bad luck and still contend. Might miss the playoffs due to a tie breaker or lose in the playoffs when your team falls flat for a week... nothing you can do about that... but solid in season management should mean the fantasy season is still entertaining for you deep into the year. -
No, he just likes chirping about living in peoples heads and then quoting those peoples same post multiple times

sorry I didn't see this thread or I would have suggested Josh Reynolds over Raymond (if and where available) as he was trending toward playing by friday

so we are upping from 8 to 10 events? idk if I want to add small field events for the sake of adding events but I guess it could be fun. I wonder if designated events really would be better than something like the WMPO? "better" fields but ones where we wont be drafting 6 versus a really fun event that might only have a dozen "top" names. interesting. shouldn't we be including LIV events now?

love breakfast but rarely have it. Generally a coffee and/or something I don't consider breakfast like a greek yogurt or a muffin. Not purposely doing any IF, I just rarely have much of an appetite in the morning unless I was drinking heavily the night before. but on the occasions I do, give me some thick cut french toast, bacon, eggs, hashbrowns. tough to beat a good NJ diner breakfast.
