Are Peenie and I the only females here...

Are you speaking of 29Guests? I always thought they were a guy and just not the sharpest. Used to help them out during our geek homers baseball draft. Very nice person. Lets not forget Bunny making an alias posing as a woman… Shelly or something?

Have you ever broken a bone ?

I have never broken a bone which is fairly amazing considering all the full force, pick up tackle football we played growing up and through our early 20s. Guys broke arms, legs, orbital bones…

I am very often a jinx, but the NFL is my thing so i'd be at least a little less worried about it if I were you any thought on LA/KC?

    ***Wagering thread***

I only played games where I was receiving a promotion. 3-2 outcome. Would have been 4-1 if I stuck with my original Miami pick. Only terrible call was Bama. This will probably be the most CFB I wager on all year unless they keep the promotions coming. For me, it's time to start talking NFL. I have 50% boost and No Sweat for TNF, no sweat for Friday Night and a No Sweat for any Sunday wager (probably will be a parlay ) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How do we feel about Philly/Dallas? No hangover for Philly? Sadly the line is -8.5 now on FD. I'm thinking play it down under a touchdown and use the no sweat token for that. With the 50% boost on an anytime TD wager on Lamb which moves that to +218. I also have a token to use on an anytime TD wager in this game where if your player scores the first or last touchdown, you get a share of 2M in bonus bets split among everyone who opted in and had that player for their token pick. My brother hit the same promo during the super bowl and took home a decent amount of bonus bets. The temptation is to pick a less obvious... Goedert, Ferguson. I am more of the mindset to pick Barkley/Hurts/Lamb and have a better chance to just win the wager itself even if they are not first or last. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ LA/ KC? I think I lean KC -3 here. Pacheco looked much better in camp and preseason. No Rashee but an expected step forward for Worthy and Hollywood should be on the field.

    I won Powerball today

I don't really remember what changed when they went from $1 to $2. I assume bigger jackpots but I thought hitting 5 without the powerball was always one milly. That sucks though but again, he still got life changing money. Even just the 5 numbers if it paid out 1 million pre tax is life changing. You invest that properly going forward and you shave many years off your target retirement date. Which is why I'm not one of those who only plays when the jackpot reaches a certain threshold. Your odds are extremely bad no matter what, so I don't really care if the "value" of playing becomes very marginally better. It's kind of gross though to see the advertised 1.3 billion or whatever it was last night or maybe thats the estimated for the next drawing and then see the estimated cash option is like 585 million. Then pay income tax on the lump sum . Would I complain about, lets say $350 million after taxes? no. But then you realize the government got a nice 950 million.

I never understood the people claiming "it's a tax on the poor" "waste of $" etc. If you can't afford a $2 lottery ticket ... also sort of feels like the same people with that mentality also have some vice they spend money on like smoking, gambling, impulse shopping and so on. I don't play the lottery all the time, pretty much just if im filling up and happen to remember. I also don't care what the jackpot amount it. The smallest jackpot is life changing money even after taxes. The silly thing is how much you really get compared to the "jackpot"

Nabors or Jeanty? Half ppr League

At first, I would say Jeanty but it might help to know something about your keeper rules. How many can you keep each year? Is there a limit on how many times you can keep the same player? Like it's interesting that Nabers would not be someone's keeper. If you can just keep designating a guy as a keeper forever, Nabers will have the longer lifespan. And if you can really get Hampton in round 2.... you see where I am going with this. Just on a guess that you can only keep 3 players and it doesn't matter what round they were drafted in (otherwise I feel like a few bigger names might be available) I think I would actually pick Nabers.

Gas hasn’t been this cheap on Labor Day since 2020 🏆

Not as bad, you had mentioned 9.99. My Target I can get 18 for $4.19 or 12 for $2.79. I have not been to LiDL in a while but they are generally the least expensive for eggs around me.

I live in a desirable suburban NJ area and sort of expect my prices to be a tad higher than some of the bumblefock areas we have represented so I’ve been very happy with most prices. if I was bier, I wouldn’t be so happy. I can’t imagine still paying more than 2x for 18 eggs. But he sounds like an outlier so far.

$4 and change on TCU -3.5 +134 just because I like to leave my account balance at round numbers like a nerd

Agreed. Small play though. I hit a parlay earlier Mets, Soto for a hit, Red Sux and Astros

All good. I don’t have the time or patience to do that at other books just to lock in $2 profit. I could theoretically play unc at espnbet. But as mentioned, the 50% boost wasn’t getting TCU ML to plus money

Around me beef : $13.69 for 2lbs. eggs: $4.19 for 18 though I can get them cheaper it LiDL. gas: $3.00-3.10 per gallon depending where I go. same people asking what Trump has done are the same who were complaining that gas and egg prices were still up 7 months ago and were the same people using it as a trump dig

    Dynasty draft! 10 team league

So again I would say it's a QB skewed league and with that scoring I would give up some of that silly WR depth in order to have a Burrow type QB. My other analysis still stands. you just had a lot of good keepers and it is maybe a 10 teamer? but I don't know the keeper rules. Probably not but it's preference I guess. Nix has more rushing upside but I think Baker probably has more passing upside. I would expect Denvers defense to have Nix passing less. So in a league that awards 6 point passing TD's, I bump certain QBs in my rankings.

    Top four QB

No but in two leagues I took him in round 9 when I was hoping to not have to until round 10. Only 1 round, not a big deal and in those leagues Burrow was drafted in round 3 and late round 4 so not like the example I gave above. I also like Nix but he went in rounds 5 and 6 in those same leagues.

the damn promotions and profit boosts make me play it. won't be a big wager but TCU -3.5 +134 seems like a decent play

    Top four QB

This year it has been Fields for me. He was top 10 ppg last year when starting for the Steelers and playing conservatively. The only thing with Fields that is a little different than the QBs I lock in on in previous seasons, is that I think he has a higher chance of flat out busting and being benched. On one hand, he was given a 2 year contract and the team thinks he can follow the same path as a Baker Mayfield, he is reunited with his college WR, and his upside is high. On the other hand, the new regime may want to make their mark and if the Jets are losing a lot of close, low scoring games, how quickly will we see Tyrod Taylor? So this year I am also prioritizing taking my QB2 quickly after. I also find that in most of my leagues, all the owners start off wanting to wait a bit on the position to the point that you don't see the first QB picked until maybe late round 3, then another 2 go in round 4, 2 in round 5 but as the dominoes start to fall, you then see Baker Mayfield in round 6, Nix and Murray in round 7. The range of QB drafting becomes condensed. That's what I mean when I say if someone like Burrow is there at the top of round 5 (after Allen, Jackson, Daniels and Hurts) it can definitely wind up being a prudent pick.

    Top four QB

In regards to Dak being 20th in ppg, they did add Pickens which should help. Although you're talking about a Nix/Dak stack which doesn't really go with the waiting on QB approach. Nix is very often the 7th QB off the board and Dak is someone who goes in that "last of the starters, start of the backups" range. So a strategy that pairs the two of them together might actually be worse than just drafting Jackson/Allen/Burrow. At least, if you're paying for Nix at his usual ADP, you probably should wait on a backup to the point that Dak would be long gone. I'm only taking a backup like Dak if i'm pairing him with a high risk guy like Fields where I am drafting them both fairly late. I'm definitely a QB late guy but I'm not going to lock myself in to a set rule about what round that has to be. You have to adapt to your draft as it's unfolding. For example if you know you want to stack Dak and... Goff, or you just know you're high on Dak this year but your league mates are drafting QBs a little earlier than website ADP, if you see Goff and Herbert go in round 8 or you see two owners grab QB2s already, you may not be able to wait until round 10 or later to get your preferred late round QB. .... and if that winds up being the case, then an argument can be made that it would have been more prudent to draft Burrow in round 5 than Dak in round 9, for example. It all winds up being relative to the difference in what those QBs score compared to the difference in equivalent RB/WR you would have drafted in those same rounds. So for me personally, it's always been more about identifying specific later QBs, sort of saying that is my guy, and making sure I get them in the flow of the draft, even if that means adjusting a few rounds earlier than I hoped. In 2024 it was Jayden Daniels for me (round 8ish), in 2023 it was Jared Goff (usually round 11) but in 2022 it was Hurts and I definitely drafted him as high as round 6.

Draft Strategy for 14 Team League

Not much to do differently although if you have a certain QB you like, even a later guy like Dak/Herbert etc, consider drafting them a bit earlier as you are more likely to see guys drafting backup QBs earlier than you’d expect.

    Dynasty draft! 10 team league

Tough to say without knowing keeper rules and which you kept. 6 pt TDs meaning all? Including passing? it’s obviously a great team stacked with WRs which must be due to keepers but I’d rather a stronger QB in 6 pt league.
