    2025: Items for review

I have not had time to play around with the schedule yet and we have not randomized the divisions yet either. My goal was to randomize the divisions after the draft and then fix the schedule to be division opponents 2x and everyone else 1x

    Draft

ESPN live draft room. 4 min pick timer. $50 entry fee unless there is a vote to up it... I assume with ed gone I am collecting league dues this year. You can use the same e-mail as the edex. I prefer paypal so I can just leave the pot sitting in there but I know some people such as BiffLager don't use it so I will do Venmo for those who can't use their PP

    Trump rigging midterms

It was absolutely hilarious that I was able to walk in a vote with no ID, just giving them my address and first name and they said my last name for me. Anyone who wanted to commit voter fraud could have voted as me when early voting began.

    Suspended players

Good question. I know ESPN, for example, lets us have our IR spots be used for any players designated as Out for their game. We treat it more like a fantasy injured list than following real NFL IR rules. So if your RB gets ruled out sunday morning, you can put him in an injured spot and add a fill in, if needed. But if that players status changes to Q or D you have to remove them from the injured slot to make any waiver claims, trades or FA adds moving forward. During covid, we added 1 extra slot to use specifically for positive covid tests. I don't think there was a way to differentiate so we policed it manually, making sure no one was using the extra injury slot for a regular injury. To my knowledge, suspended players are not allowed in those slots. I have drafted guys at a discount who were pending suspensions, like Zeke one year and i'm fairly certain I had to eat a bench slot with him.

Trump goes to Russia to meet Putin

If we want to act like the big swinging dong, we roll in and destroy Russia big swinging dong does not = sending money to a slightly less corrupt country so they can keep their heads above water while they continue to lose more lives, just so they can kill a few Russians in the process

Rate your level of satisfaction 2024 vs 2025

agreed but I think the original point or discussion being had between RHR and peenie was around the idea that legal immigrants are living in fear because of the deportations. Which I think is fairly false. When I hear about people being in fear because of the color of their skin as it relates to deportation, it is almost always a white woman making that claim on behalf of others. And the legal immigrants who I can recall expressing some hesitations are more along the lines of TDS people

Rate your level of satisfaction 2024 vs 2025

i have two cousins who are half colombian and one who is full colombian adopted. my best friend is puerto rican. a former co-worker/girlfriend who I am still very close with is from ecuador. These are just the people closest to me who I know for a fact are in no fear as "brown" people. they are actually all fairly liberal and don't agree with the deportations and obviously hate trump but the ex co-worker/gf is all for the deportations. because her and her family did it the right way and she hates that illegals are being given benefits. still, none of them are claiming any fear for themselves or have had any issues.

someone watched stick recently. JT dropped a homophobic slur while playing. You okay with that?
  15. unfortunately, true free trade can't be achieved unless other countries tariffs on US goods are also zero.
  16. The article I remember reading, which was again from a federal reserve bank (I think Dallas) and showed the steepest increase being in Q3 2021. Yes, the article was from october or december of 2021 but still showed a steeper increase in 2021 than anything that was seen in 2020. Splitting hairs a bit but just saying. Technically I am more accurate saying 2021/2022 if the data shows late 2021. I would say price spike defintely started pre Biden, even if we include all of 2020 (really it didn't start until post covid hitting) and even if we pretend prices are still spiking at the same rate right now... that means it encompasses the entirety of the Biden admin and 1 year, 7 months of Trump.
  17. you probably missed where I didn't blame Biden FOR inflation . Causing inflation and doing little to combat it in 4 years in office are two entirely different things there, champ. All I said was the Biden admin plan was to do little to nothing and let the fed take care of it with rate raises. I don't recall saying he caused inflation. Correct me if i'm wrong.
  18. I’m sure it’s having an impact but I’m not sure why we are pretending people’s willingness to make the biggest purchase of their lives has not been impacted since the price spikes of 21/22 and mortgage rate increases. Neither of which happened in 2025.
  19. And home buying has been cooling for a while. Sandy vagine just used an article about the most recent period. also, how much has growing economic uncertainty changed from 21/22? Those were not great years for the economy. 23 was and I’d say 24 was hit and miss. So far 25 has been very good, even in the face of the aforementioned “OMG TARIFFS”. Of course there is still uncertainty over how it plays out in the long term. bottom line is the article he posted outlines many issues that are hard to argue have anything to do with Trump but naturally his post is Trump!
  20. I never said the president sets rates. I said the plan of action was to sit back and let the fed raise rates (aka no plan to fight inflation) Potus is not the fed, obviously. and I’m not even fully blaming Biden for the crazy inflated home prices. Obviously covid drove a lot of people out of city living (at least around me) and into the suburbs. Demand was through the roof. You had retirees selling their homes at record highs

Who is in your fantasy golf foursome

Charles Barkley, Bill Murray, and the third would be a toss up between Jim Nantz for all the stories of pro golfers he must have, Michael Jordan but I’m not sure I want to double dip on basketball players, Natalie Gulbis who no longer plays professionally that I know of, and hell maybe Sandler but the feels redundant with comedians/actors.
  22. Yes. We all know why mortgage rates started going up. The main plan to fight inflation was to let the fed raise interest rates which leads to higher mortgage rates. They should come down if the fed lowers rates. Something the previous administration didn’t seem to want and Trump wants. At this very moment, OMG TARIFFS, are part of the reason but there was ample time to lower them a bit more before he was even in office. So yeah, my comment was in response to rusty (look at me learning aliases) making a post with an article linked claiming the slow down in home buying is, naturally, TRUMP! When in reality, both the dramatic rise in mortgage rates as well as the dramatic rise in home prices happened during the Biden admin. Both of which are key factors and probably the largest factors in the slow d pace of home buying.
  23. From your own linked article… “The once-reliable season fizzled as sky-high mortgage rates, stubbornly elevated prices, and growing economic uncertainty pushed buyers to the sidelines. “ Hmm sky high mortgage rates… when did those start? Elevated home prices? Yeah, exactly. With mortgage rates still high, there’s no way for home prices to continue going up the way that they were without buying starting to cool off

What are we not giving Biden credit for? It took balls to not take any real action and just whip out the check book?
