The only part I think is comparable is the chip on their shoulder year 1 after being traded. Otherwise, Mack got traded from a bad team to a bad team. Barkley got traded from a team with poor QB play and a putrid offensive line to one of the best situations for a running back in football.

That time of year again: Camp injury news (Jaydon Blue)

Maybe I misread but I could have sworn I saw some articles saying they wanted Jones to be their starter -
I’m just tossing out high ADP names that can reasonably be picked before him. Injuries are going to pop up as we move through August. semantics I guess. To me someone being slept on is someone no one is really discussing. Plenty of people are on Barkley OR at least explaining why they don’t think he’s the top RB to draft this year or why they might prefer a top end WR. thats all. In a start 2 RB format he is likely my #2. In formats where you only have to start 1 RB, he’s probably my #5

They want Daniel jones to win the job. Everything I have read is that they have both been awful -
He could potentially repeat but he’s not going to exceed. Guy put up an all time great season. Much more reasonable that he falls short, even if he is still a top 5 fantasy back. he’s just clearly not being slept on and I don’t think anyone needs to do cartwheels if he falls to 5. It’s perfectly reasonable for him to go after bijan, Gibbs, Chase, JJ, even potentially CeeDee in WR heavy formats

@Mr. Landry -
Are hot deal times dead on sites like golfnow and teeoff? I think they are one in the same... I have not had much time to play this season, which is a bummer, so when I do I've been opting for my local county course due to the 5 min drive. But I was browsing for hot deal times at some of the other, nicer courses i like to play and the offerings are few and far between compared to previous seasons. Anyone use those sites frequently and having the same experience? Maybe it's just my area.

Where would you have drafted him last year? im not worried about his workload specifically as much as his previous injury history and the simple fact you’re paying for his peak. It’s hard to argue he can do better than 2024 but it’s pretty easy to argue he can do worse. we have not seen bijan or Gibbs peak yet and Chase/jefferson is just preference for WR. he’s not some sort of DND for me but not my top choice.

10.05 - RB Jerome Ford, CLE -
There’s no real way to make top level CBs valuable, who don’t get thrown at. Revis was a prime example. Inflated points for INTs? Tends to reward the corners who are not “shutdown” but take risks. Give up big plays but make their fair share. points for passes defensed? Again, if they don’t get thrown at, won’t matter. the best thing you can do is require DE,DT,LB,S,CB at the very least, as Tbay mentioned. Won’t help shutdown corners but at least makes some positions viable whereas right now most owners just stack MLB and SS.

It's really quote simple but I have no issue rolling for you guys. However, you will need to select your draft position when it comes your time to choose. Just more fair that way. Thanks

So in my other leagues that do 3 divisions, post draft we draw A, B, C out of a hat. I am thinking we can use the dice roller again and just do top 4 rolls, middle 4 and bottom 4. I would suggest doing it post draft but since we are drafting near the deadline, we can go ahead and take care of this after the draft order is set. This way I have time to edit the divisions and redo the schedule as talked about earlier in this thread.

Would have picked him if I didn’t go TE. Agree with you -

Insider Info: I am currently at Jets open training camp and Fields is on the field, jogging and throwing passes and taking some reps -
Meh. There’s a fair amount of idp info out there. Main difference is people will jump at the big names without realizing that middle linebacker you’ve never heard of on the Raiders is going to be an easy weekly starter (Robert Spillane the past two seasons and hopefully again in New England ). In dynasty format I have a never ending supply of DB/flex options because I use my final round rookie pick on one, or add after the draft… Chinn, Winfield, Branch… Emmanwori this year. might add an element of fun but not really skill imho. They are all throwaway positions like DST and kicker once you realize it. Paying up for a Roquan Smith is pointless when an undrafted Spillane will be as good or better. I suppose you could argue it’s skill to know about unheralded or quite honestly average players who will be thrust into starting high tackle roles but you don’t really need skill to use Google.

Round Seven-Ten Commentary - July Mock 2025

After seeing you comment on your RB room a few times I went in and sorted the results by mocker to see how your team was shaping up. This is by no means a negative on you but after seeing your roster from the #1 spot, It sort of reaffirms my belief in taking an RB there, because I prefer to take one in the first 2 rounds but by the end of round 2, it feels potentially forced.... OR going super heavy at WR. Granted, I went WR/WR from the 8th spot, but it felt like the tier of RB that started BEFORE your 2.12 pick ended up lasting through round 3. So i'd rather have Kamara and Swift than Brown and Etienne and for as great as Chase is, your top 3 WRs ended up as Chase, Wilson and Sutton. I might argue my preference for Nacua, London and Ridley. Though you did go QB and TE before I did. Again, just an observation on pick 1 and where those RB tiers seem to end. It's a spot where I might take Garrett Wilson and Brock Bowers and where I would have liked Higgins but not with the cincy double dip. So it is tough. Hindsight I think Bijan/Wilson/Higgins would have been interesting or RB/RB with Bijan/Brown (or Taylor) and Wilson. -
sounds vaguely familiar

Njoku will be someone I target in a lot of draft this year, I suspect, with a certain QB back in town. I debated waiting but V4E does not have a tight end and has 2 picks before my next. I suspect there will still be some of my targets remaining at RB/WR. Also I am glad I took Mayfield where I did as Fields is the QB I intended to pair with someone else had I waited. Though I will say there are still a few options at the position that I think are either tolerable or in some cases undervalued. -

I disagree in terms of how both are commonly used today. Yes, in IDP leagues you will have people drafting TJ Watt, etc in the mid rounds. But my point was that it's silly. More people have caught on that team DST's can be picked in the last 2 rounds and/or simply streamed from week to week but that doesn't mean IDP's are more important and actually should be drafted in the mid rounds, it just means not as many people have caught on... plus you still usually have that one guy who picks the previous seasons top DST in round 10. I do agree that if IDP was properly deployed, kind of as you laid out, where it wasn't just DL, LB, DB... then people would have to pay attention to the best corners, pass rushers, etc rather than just focusing on tackle machines.. but yeah, then it all becomes as complex as a lot of baseball leagues and most people lose interest. Hell, that's why FF went through that phase where people were constantly starting up new dynasty leagues... because the IDEA is fun and the initial draft is a blast but then people quickly get bored and "hey, lets start up a new dynasty! so we can do a fresh draft!"
-
I see you have already resolved this but my 2 cents was going to be 1. IDP is lame. In any format (dynasty/keeper or redraft) it's very easy to focus on stacking offensive talent and simply grabbing less talented defenders who happen to play ILB or SS for NFL teams whose defenses will be on the field a lot. Certain top defenders like CB's will never be worth much because they don't get thrown at and there is simply no way to quantify what they do for FF purposes. A few weeks into every season, there will be several new start worthy LB's and Safeties for the season. Don't need to be that guy reaching for the big names. but that wasn't your question 2. My answer would have been to eliminate offensive scoring for IDP and defensive scoring for offensive players. Of course, it sounds like your league desperately wants this so there really is no choice but to let Hunter be that unicorn. He will 100% be started as a DB or IDP flex play. I guess it is similar to when Taysom Hill can be started as a TE but is accumulating QB/RB stats... but this will be on steroids.
