i figured i'd put up a 0 in funny but I thought i'd do better with Hero, Villain and Sports than I ultimately did. Hero, for example, like the marvel movies or not, Tony Stark is the hero that launched the franchise into it's wild popularity. I also thought it was criminal Marty McFly was not drafted when Biff and George were. I almost put him as wildcard but I think he is well enough viewed as the hero of the back to the future movies. Villain, even if people again don't like MCU and Thanos, had Freddy and Norman Bates. I'm not even a horror guy but those are two villains that immediately pop into mind. Sports also I thought was very strong. Adonis Creed probably hurt me there but I think Michael b Jordan does a great job and, at least the first 2 Creeds were a good return to the Rocky universe. I probably should have plucked someone from Remember the Titans here. Oddly, hot chicks might be my best category and I was kind of forced to go with sci-fi/fantasy women based on what was left.

i don't follow the Vikings enough to know all the grievances a fan could have with their GM, so i'm just going off the comment being made in this thread about Darnold.
-
I legit thought I would be middle of the pack just picking leftovers.
-
Darnold looked like Jets Darnold to end 2024 and the Vikings had used a first round pick on McCarthy. What should they have done differently? Throw the bag at a guy who was supposed to be their backup? 3 years 100 mil, 55 guaranteed.
-
I'm very happy for Darnold. He is a perfect example of why most QBs should not be drafted and then started right away. The Jets have done this repeatedly, (Sanchez, Geno, Darnold, Wilson). ... but I also don't think Darnold was some awesome prospect that the Jets ruined either. People have to remember he didn't do anything after being traded to Carolina and he then got to be a backup in San Fran for a good coaching staff and system... then finally had his breakout in Minnesota with another good coaching staff and system and plenty of weapons, at age 27. It's sort of similar to Geno Smith, who got to go to the Giants and sit and learn behind Eli (when the Giants were at least somewhat well run still) and then go to a good coaching staff/organization in Seattle with prime Metcalf and Lockett. In Vegas though, he turned into a pumpkin. Yes, same coach and some weapons and I do think Darnold is better but the point is both got to sit and learn in well run organizations.

i'm starting to get tired of them. Injuries happen but I would have liked to see their ideal rotation with McClanahan, Rasmussen, Baz, Bradley... they dealt Bradley last season, now Baz is gone, and we just traded Brandon Lowe and Jake Mangum. Granted we had a surplus of outfielders and Lowe has been in trade rumors for a few seasons but dealing away one of the better power hitting 2nd baseman in baseball and a young starter with some nasty stuff and getting more and more prospects is just disheartening. just keep adding prospects but then sign a guy like Cedric Mullins... it just doesn't make much sense anymore.

oh. not sure. I know it gets brought up (mostly by burt) and I always thought one of the main complaints was if you add or drop a player, it reverts any changes you made to your lineup for future days. Which is definitely annoying... but I have no idea if other platforms are the same since this is the only fantasy baseball league I have been in since high school. (technically been in the keeper league that Ted invited me to but they also used Yahoo)
-
Does anyone have experience with espn fantasy baseball? I happen to use it for all the FF leagues I run but i do get a lot of complaints about the app. I don't even use the Yahoo app for this league, I just use the web browser and I don't personally have any complaints with Yahoo.

although bitcoin and crypto was touted for being decentralized and for its inevitable takeover of fiat currency. Yet governments, fed, wallstreet can manipulate it. It's almost as if bitcoin will ultimately be exactly what they want it to be, and fairly regulated.

Anthony Joshua VS Jake Paul - December 19, 2025 at 5:00 PM EST

I feel like you kind of did though especially based on this last response. Just because I'm not into boxing anymore doesn't mean I don't know what boxers look like. I'm sorry but at least half the opponents in the video Ed told me to reference look like guys you'd see in a tune up fight. Then you explain that many of those are probably his super early fights, which kind of ads legitimacy to my question, at the time, not knowing much about him. So you've educated me that he is a top tier boxer, top 10 HW even currently and I don't believe that I've tried to dispute that. If it seemed like I was, that was not my intention. So I guess Paul has entered the realm of legit boxing. Good for him. Maybe I will start to care now. You are one of maybe a dozen guys who post here who I enjoy talking sports with but sometimes it seems like you get easily irked or like you "have a dog in the fight" so to speak. "google is your friend" is a typical telling response in those situations. -

I think you need to, it's not a personal insult for me to not have known who Anthony Joshua is -

Did I? I believe I said that I saw publications hinting that Tyson held back or was told to hold back and said I have no idea if that's remotely true... and I then went on to say that even an older fighter, maybe not in Tysons case, could potentially school Jake Paul. I can't name anyone off the top of my head but someone who stays in shape and trains and can fall back on their technical expertise that Paul doesn't really have. -

I'm not trashing his opponents... just because I didn't know Anthony Joshua, even though I generally have known the names of top boxers even after I stopped caring, doesn't mean i'm trashing the guy. If my comments = trashing then you must be the president of his fan club or something I get that most of Jake Pauls opponents are doing it for a payday, just as he is. I relate Jake Paul to youtube golfers because that's basically what it is. Good golfers entertaining when in their element but wouldn't actually make it doing the real thing. Not that they need to. My initial reaction of "is he fighting a real fighter" is because if that was the case, I might actually be interested. The same way I would be interested if Grant Horvat was attempting to earn his tour card. -

exactly why (not in Tysons case perhaps) I would expect an older real boxer to school someone like Paul in a real fight. -

I don't need to be impressed but I guess the point is, I'm only going to care if he's fighting real fighters. As some others who I think follow boxing and MMA have said in here, it's dumb and gimmicky. Again, trying to stress that i would have had no idea Joshua is a current top 10 HW boxer. You've clarified that for me so I guess it gives some merit to this fight. -

I mean exactly what I said. They almost all look like jobbers. How am I to know it's all early in his career if that is what is being presented to me by the OP? I was even being a little bit sarcastic (as a general sports fan, when I saw those other boxes in the vid, I assumed it was very early in this guys career if he was a real fighter) -
i've always just attributed it to the athleticism these guys use to dominate HS and college and it just usually doesn't translate to the NFL. In HS, they were the best QB, RB, WR, DB on the entire team. In college they could have likely succeeded at another position as well but their dual threat ability made them most valuable as a QB. A few go on to be Lamar Jackson (overrated but very talented), but most don't because the talent/athleticism gap decreases so much at the pro level. Inaccuracy, inability to read defenses, etc really shows.

i just remember a lot of analysis after the fight showing points where it seemed Tyson was holding back and possibly even a point where it looked like Paul was verbally reminding him to chill. Could all be BS and I can understand your take on Paul but there are certain instances where i'd think an actual, polished fighter who is older could take him to school. With that said, and this Joshua guy being 20+ years younger than Tyson, and a top HW of his era, i'd expect him to destroy Paul pretty easily if the fight is not fixed. -

relax, You guys have established that Joshua is a legit fighter and not some other celeb fighter or senior citizen as Paul has fought in the past. Even reading Wiki i just don't understand what I am supposed to be impressed by, given the context that he is a real fighter.
