Why didn't Putin invade Ukraine during Trumps first term? Why did he wait until Biden was in office? ... What examples do you have of Putin doing whatever he likes with Donald as prez? In a perfect world, of course I agree that he is a war criminal and we shouldn't be nice to him or give him anything. Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world. War happens all the time. I don't know or care about Putin's talking points. Common sense tells me that unless the USA steps in with military force and thwarts Russia, the only way to end the war is (unfortunately) to help negotiate with some concessions. The Biden admin was unwilling to negotiate and also unwilling to do anything that might be seen as a declaration of war. In typical fashion, their best plan of action was to send aid to the little guy! send money and other donations! put signs on your lawn to show you support Ukraine! Let's make them into a key social issue for our campaign! ... at the end of the day we all know that only prolongs a conflict that Ukraine CANT WIN . do you disagree? Do you think Ukraine can win the war if we just keep funding them for a decade or so? Are you in favor of the US declaring war on Russia? What resolution are you actually hoping for? I distinctly remember the debate between Trump and Harris where the mods kept asking Trump if he wanted Ukraine to win the war. Trump kept saying he wanted the war to end, which of course was not good enough because they were trying to get a certain response out of him. I do not believe I was doing that as much as I was stating my own opinion on the topic. You created the topic, asking people how they felt. I am responding with how I feel. I do not feel that people should let politics determine their overarching happiness… and I do not feel that the majority of CITIZENS day to day lives are greatly impacted no matter WHO is in office. I also FEEL that right now we have a lot of liberals manufacturing things to be unhappy about, hurting their own quality of life in the process.

I guess I was just simply adding that job security is a major player in many peoples happiness and I can at least understand if certain policies are directly impacting someones job. Even though the overall concept of job security is something people deal with from time to time and it usually has nothing to do with presidential policy.

That said, I do know there are a few who post at FFT who are/were government employees so I can see this having been a stressful year for them even though most or many of us agree with cutting wasteful government spending. Perhaps peenie is? I'm not sure what would be "whack" about her work situation this year compared to last year that would have to do with presidential administrations, if not. granted, the TDS people have spent a lot of time manufacturing ways to lose sleep.

The first and most obvious thing that comes to mind as a response to your topic is that no one who posts on this board should be measuring their level of happiness based on who is the president. It should not impact the amount or quality of your sleep... I know there will be, for example, some federal employees who will chime in about the doge stuff... but for the most part, I do not feel most peoples day to day lives are greatly impacted no matter who is potus. I suppose I do technically feel more job security in the sense that being a white male no longer feels like a bad thing and I don't feel quite as much like I need to walk on eggshells. It's a welcomed shift from the overdone liberal narrative but I think we were sort of headed there regardless of Trump as I think the country was tired of it and was starting to realize the difference between equal opportunity and quotas. I also have more money because the market has been booming and my personal investments have been on fire. 2021 and 2022 were fairly rough under Biden, while 2023 was very good. Yes, I would say the country feels greater. Unfortunately if I point to things like increased border security, deportation of illegal immigrants, and finally pressing for more fair trade, the big time libs are going to cry about it all. They don't care that their own heroes had often talked about the detriments of illegal immigration or trade imbalance with China. All they know is the Orange Man is doing it, so it must be bad now....

I did notice that I’m starting a lot fewer Rays hitters than most years. I usually go heavy SP in both supplementals but three hitters this year. Plus Adames.

Every year we have done an online draft in either the yahoo or espn draft rooms which I thought was to eliminate potential preseason and camp injury issues. I noticed espn expanded their pick timers so I had already adjusted it to 4 min from 2. as for a slow draft we would probably have to start now to even hope to have it finished by the season, imho. But if someone wants to run it and keep on everyone to make somewhat timely picks, then I’m good with what the consensus wants to do. unless you mean having everyone here to still do it in one evening?

“as long as they can come back legally” made it sound as if you were okay with illegals leaving (and taking money to do so) as long as they could turn around and try to come back through proper legal channels. i would be staunchly against that and also feel it’s unfair to those going about it the right way. would only be okay with it on condition of a certain amount of time passing (5 maybe 10 years) before they could attempt to do it the right way.

I think it would be self explanatory that cashing out would void you from winning any additional free bets if you cash out during the reg season. Not sure why anyone would. I guess you could also look and see if there are any terms that keep you from cashing out the wager at any point. I guess if it's a real sketchy book they could just never offer cash out amounts on all those promo wagers. When I had SanFran on FD, I never looked to see if cashing out was an option prior to placing the promo bet, I just remember in like week 9 or 10 looking and seeing cash out was available. So I just waited until they already had 10 wins and I think at that point I could have cashed out for even money but obviously they were going to make the playoffs.
