does not surprise me that you spend a lot of time on social media (including here). I suppose it depends on the definition of celebrating. I spend some time on social media because I generate some income from it and I have seen what I would call gloating over the "irony" that he was shot considering his stance on gun control and some things he has said about it. I've seen people defending the gloating and poking with comparisons to Hitler, as if to say no one would be complaining if there was celebrating of Hitler's death. It really should be "this is terrible, no one deserves this and no ones family deserves this". the end. To my knowledge the guy never hurt anyone or did anything illegal/violent? People need to get over the concept of differing view points.

I don't dislike Judge. I don't like the Yankees but nothing against him at all. He's not as good as Ohtani. Not that it matters. No one is. I think those days may be over. It's not like it was when the Steinbrenners could out spend all the other teams. Their $ is the Yankees and YES. Now we have owners who were billionaires independent of the teams they own and the Yankees can't really outspend those guys. It's funny to think that we are probably closer to the Yankees being pro salary cap. and even when they do spend, they can't seem to do it properly. At some point they have to move on from Cashman and Boone.

If a player has shown that he produces better batting 3rd (even if he still has good production batting 2nd), how many more at bats is he getting per game on average from the 2 hole vs the 3? I could understand if we were talking 2 vs 5, not that Judge would ever be batting 5th but of course some teams do take their 5/6 hitter and raise them up in the order when going against a lefty for example. In the stats you provided he's getting 11 less plate appearances in 4 less games batting 2nd. Even if we pretend he gets 5 plate appearances in those games, thats 9 more plate appearances over 69 games or like .13 PA's per game. to me, this is analytics failing a team. though I'm sure they are then also subtracting walks/hbp to get "at bats" which will be a bigger difference. but to me, the number they really should care about is the plate appearances.

many years ago in the IBL, team FFToday decided, as a group, to target Sydney Rice heavily. Pretty sure high draft capital was used. He went on to only play in 6 games. maybe it wasn't so much dumb as unlucky... since he was a stud the year prior. (and I think we did still win the title)

it's definitely not as simple as cut = higher, rise = lower... of course we have to factor in the overall economy. Though I will say that some of the key principles I mentioned earlier tend to hold true at all times. lower rates make the market a bit more attractive than your standard savings account and rate cuts usually lead to easier borrowing and more spending into the economy. If I had to venture a guess, I would say rate cuts or increases during recessionary periods like 07/08 are not going to be strong enough to outweigh the overall market sentiment of said recession.

One of my fathers best friends died that day. He helped 2 women out of an elevator/elevator shaft but was not able to get out himself. Those two women survived, that's how his wife knew the story. Crazy day. I was young but I remember being in gym class having kids called to the office whose parents worked in the city.

do you have any data showing that the market usually goes down when the fed cuts rates? I don't, or have not looked up data for the opposite but it has always been my understanding and experience that the markets usually go up when rates are cut (down when raised). Rate cuts tend to make fixed rate investments like a high yield savings account less desirable than investing in the market. Borrowing costs also go down which tends to boost economic activity. I would agree that rate cuts indicate an issue with the market and you may see a very short term drop but the end result usually is the markets going up. The latest example would be 2022/23. The fed started raising interest rates in early 2022, which wound up being a pretty bad year for the markets and those rate increases slowed down in 2023 and eventually ended around the start of summer... and 2023 wound up being a bounce back year for the markets.

the old "i cant believe this guy is available" is a classic. Every long running league has had it happen at least once for real and I would also assume most long running leagues have it happen annually as a sarcastic joke.

good lord, you can't help yourself can you?

So that specific line was tongue in cheek to MDC because he was fixating on Trump campaigning on lower prices from day 1. I was having a pretty civil discussion with him until gutternuts came in with his triggered inability to read.

But this is a real life, franchise QB thread. I certainly don’t think Justin fields is the jets franchise QB. But that didn’t stop me from drafting him in every league. His fantasy numbers are somewhat irrelevant to this topic. he also had at least 3 such fantasy weeks as a rookie
-
This really isn’t the time to make the fantasy argument. It’s never really the time but certainly not this week when the last franchise QB the bears were excited about scored higher. Daniel Jones scored higher.

Tis the liberal way

none of those listed players should be on waivers to begin with. You can drop Reed and I would probably prioritize Judkins then Hollywood.

It's honestly a very fair offer. McConkey might be a bit frustrating this year with Keenan Allen back in the fold. Yes, he is the better WR but you can't expect to add TE depth and not lose something in return. Smith is a solid WR, you just have to decide is you want Pitts or not. If you don't want Pitts don't do the trade. If you do want Pitts, it is more than fair. Personally I would explore another way to improve at TE. you are really expecting to be able to offer one of your worst WR to someone for Tyler Warren? this is why trading is so difficult in FF. so many people expect to get what they want for next to nothing.

is he always an afterthought? the holdout and rust is a legit concern but I would say you stick with him. there are plenty of highly regarded players who had disappointing week 1s.

correct. I am seeing prices down all over my area. I am making no claims about overall prices for everyone in all parts of the country... that's what you wanted it to be, you swung, you missed.
-
so the short answer is that you, in fact, cannot read. or choose not to. Either way... since everything you just quoted and bolded is me talking about me personally. Perhaps you confused "all over" with "overall"? It's okay if you did, and i'm sure you put a bunch of effort into looking for any post of mine making a 'prices down overall' claim. good try, good effort. keep being you
-
you need some sort of hobby dude. you're so triggered you can't seem to fully read or comprehend anything. If you can find where I claimed prices were down across the board for everyone, I am all ears (or eyes in this case). There was a thread a while back where people were chatting about gas, eggs and beef and it seemed like a lot of people were seeing lower prices in those areas.... but all I talked about with MDC was prices I am seeing around me. You can even find me saying "if I start to see them going back up again" in regards to groceries. I brought up insurance and cell bills because both have gone down for me. I then mentioned that its possible the insurance premium reduction was something falling off my record (but this may or may not be the case. I can't think of anything that would be on my record to fall off, however I am trying to be fair and HONEST in my assessment of prices i am seeing for myself) Why would bringing up insurance and cell bills be dishonest of me? Do you have some sort of proof that cell bills only go down when something changes on my end? Because nothing has in years.... Interesting how you make no mention of me saying natural gas and electricity are up for me... If you can show me where I made any claim of OVERALL, I will gladly call myself a clown. Or do you think its possible for me to back up a statement I didn't make? Though I have a feeling this will go much like our last interaction where you quadrupled down because you can't read.
-
oh man, guttertard is @'ing me because he can never properly read. absolute neck and neck race between him and seafoam for dumbest person at this forum. guy glosses over me saying food prices are mostly down in my area and is using my words to sarcastically say data must be fake . poor guy also seems to have missed where I stated car insurance going down could have been something falling off my record. Why read when you can just make stuff up to suit the post you want to type?
