UPDATE: New team for Mr. Rodgers - Pittsburgh
WhiteWonder replied to weepaws's topic in FFToday Board
As for Rodgers and as a Jets fan... I will say that I never wanted him in the first place but in that first offseason and camp with the Jets, he was doing and saying all the right things and I was starting to buy into him as being more likeable than he seemed toward the end in GB. He genuinely seemed to embrace NY and embrace being a mentor to Zach Wilson for whatever it's worth. Having him go down on prime time week 1, 1st series was just a typical Jets thing to have happen. The team went on to win 7 games and I am fully convinced that was a playoff team with a healthy Rodgers. Unfortunately, the rest of his Jets tenure was trash and toxic. You have to blame ownership for allowing him to behave however he wanted and do whatever he wanted but you also can't deny that he is a headcase and has a huge ego. The guy said that outside noise had to be eliminated, yet continued to go on McAfee. Needed his security blanket WR. Is the only reason Hackett wasn't canned and as much as I didn't care for Saleh, he big timed his coach on multiple occasions... because he knew he could. I dont really care what the media thinks of him but he just seems like a totally unlikable guy -

I agree with your overall point but I did have to laugh at Bowles saying its about performance. Not because he's wrong... just because he's Todd Bowles. -

No, you are right. The 2nd kicker selection is not going to discredit the meat of the mock. Although anyone viewing it would likely wonder why an expert mock (calling us all experts) has someone taking 2 kickers when it's far more common to draft no kicker if waivers/FA run before week 1. So yeah, it's fairly minor although if more people deployed this strategy for the additional no hassle points it would look more awkward. I would totally be down with converting our kicker selections to "Team Kicker" for the no hassle league in the future. -

700/7 last year in the Bears offense. As a 6th WR for me, I feel like he will sign somewhere and be a WR2 for that team capable of still putting up fantasy useful weeks. -

I can see the logic behind it. Although we all try not to mock with the no hassle league at the top of our minds, it obviously comes into play for all of us at some point. The biggest negative to drafting 2 kickers would of course be that no legit mock draft for website purposes is going to have someone drafting 2 kickers. The other negative is that you wind up with 1 less RB/WR on your roster. My annual internal debate is between going 4RB/6WR and a 5/5 split. This year I went 4/6 because my receivers took a hit with the early drafting of Brock Bowers. But the upside it that, like you said, you guard against a kicker injury, your first kickers bye week and weeks where your kicker scores 3 points or less. I think something we may want to look into for future mocks is Team Kicker. This would allow owners to draft 1 kicker as usual but for the purposes of the no hassle league, it eliminates the worry of a kicker injury. -
FB Marketplace? idk. Forget which thread it was in but I know i mentioned that I pretty much don't buy new golf balls anymore. Even on a bad day with a few OB shots, something in the water etc I always seem to find a bunch more premium balls, usually in excellent condition. I just play those and only break out new ones for outings or tournaments. interestingly, I recently cracked 2 brand new TP5 balls at my indoor place. I think they were from the same box so maybe I got a bad batch. I also use new balls there just in case any sort of marks mess with trackman.

I have always loved Keenan Allen. I hope he softens his stance on going to Pitt or at least ends up back in LA. -

***2025 Fantasy Geek Balls League*** Biff is World Champion
WhiteWonder replied to BiffTannen's topic in The Geek Club
@RaiderHaters Revenge @Meglamaniac formed in 2022, year 1 was on Yahoo before we switched to ESPN. It's a PPR redraft that starts 1QB, 1RB, 2WR, 1TE and 2Flex... plus kicker and DST with 7 bench and 2 IR spots. Passing TD's are 4 and I believe some crybabies wanted turnovers less impactful so interceptions and fumbles lost are -1. We have been 3 divisions of 4 because that works out perfectly with the NFL schedule to have each team play division opponents twice and all other teams once before playoffs begin. Playoffs are 3 division winners and next 3 best records with tie breaker being total points forced. We have separate discussion threads on the league forum for scoring and rule changes. Perhaps some people would prefer 2 conferences or just 1 league with top 6 making the playoffs $50 entry fee with payouts for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. There has been a lot of chatter about weekly high score payouts. (I am personally against it with the low buy in) -

As TBay noted, I doubt you are hearing it as much as you claim. It's a cutesy saying that you maybe hear 3-4 times a year from a talking head. But technically, it is the best. Bottom line is if you can't stay on the field, none of your other talents and abilities really matter.
