Ryan Reynolds is a national treasure!!!!! (also, agreed) (also, also... not to get too deep into Ryan Reynolds ... but I thought he was good in Amityville Horror and wasn't playing his one character)
-
I don't disagree with any of these picks as values. Although I probably won't be looking much at Warren and Pitts. Pacheco is a bit higher on fantasypros even in PPR (24). Kyren (13) and Hubbard (18) seem like decent values as well. RJ Harvey (27) also. Jeudy (28) is interesting if Flacco starts. Ridley (35) did well with Hopkins gone last year and now gets a QB upgrade. Kupp (45) also interests me a little. I am not big on Darnold but I think he will air it out more than Geno.

Yes but acquaintances don’t count. I’m asking about legitimate female friends. even with the “friends from our gym” I would guess those are closer to acquaintances that you only know because of you and your wife’s shared hobby and probably only see at the gym or maybe out and about and you stop to say hi. For the married geeks, I was thinking more along the lines of if you got divorced, is there a female in your life you’d reach out to, grab lunch and chat in a supportive way. That you wouldn’t even be thinking about as a rebound.
-
Sorry, it sounded more like you were saying it was a guy thing. You literally said women don’t typically tend to sexualize men. I disagree
-
Again, it’s not a question of needing to. Many of you are older and/or married. Wanting to bang anything that moves in your 20s vs. not feeling the need to in your 50s isn’t really the question here. it’s do you have genuine female friends? A female you are pretty close with who you don’t want to and wouldn’t sleep with (if you were single) and she doesn’t want to sleep with you.
-
So I see a lot of married geeks saying things similar to Jerry above .., “she’s passable looking, which is to say I’d hit it if I were single “ I think these statements mean that if you didn’t have a wife, these female friends would be women you want to bang… or not really friends.
-
So for the first part, I disagree and I think women sexualize men WAY more than they want to admit. Not as much as men do to women, but it’s there. I can’t even count the number of times I had a group a female coworkers comment about a cute client, guy in a different department, etc. The second part is why I put the preface of “if you were not married” so the answer for you is yes. You have guys in your life you consider to be friends that you would also want to bang if you were a single woman. The running coach for example. You might not want to but do you think he would want you? Marriage makes it easier to have strictly “friends” of the opposite sex. It’s easy to say “I would never think about sleeping with them, I’m married!”, but the question is would they still be your purely platonic friend if your significant other didn’t exist.
-
If you have a friend group (you probably don’t) and you are introduced to a cool chick who has some similar interests, the idea is you can become friends, hang at the bar, etc.
-
So your answer is mostly no, even in the past. That was kind of my point. If you feel like you’d want to sleep with them, they don’t count for this discussion.
-
fair. I have always been on the slightly introverted side and prefer to keep my friend groups smaller. I'm sure that plays into it. When i've been in longer relationships, I end up becoming friendly with some of her friends but never to the point where i'd consider them friends after we've broken up. I do make an effort to have more female friends but it genuinely seems like every time I make a female friend who I get along with personality wise and have no attraction to, they are attracted to me. Or vice versa.

Jake Tapper admits he didn't cover Biden's cognitive decline enough, claims to 'look back on it with humility'
WhiteWonder replied to jbycho's topic in The Geek Club
Before she left the board, @OldMaid, who I always got along with (and I don't really have anything against her) made a comment that I will never forget. She basically said republicans were to blame for Biden staying in the race as long as he did because they knew he was declining and they saw it as Trumps best chance to win so they wanted Biden to keep running. The amount of denial/deflection in that post of hers is why I have come to not be able to stand most liberals. Take ownership for something for once in your life. -

I would think the only true regret or remorse is in the fact that, knowing what they know now, he didn't do more to help push Joe out the door sooner so the democratic party could have had enough time to hold a primary and have anyone but Kamala take on Trump. He knew. They knew.... but as long as Joe seemed like the best chance to win, it would be brushed aside. Unfortunately, there's not much smoke you can blow up peoples asses after that debate performance. So now, it's regrettable because they were stuck with Harris. -
cool 1. the 2020 election happened in 2020. Get over it. Whatever you think happened, your guy is in office again... what does crying about 2020 accomplish now? 2. Biden was mostly a vegetable in rapid decline. This is what I meant when I said there were more important things for dems to focus on rather than how to "get Trump". Imagine spending 4 years hyper focused on Trump when your own elected official is asleep at the wheel... no need for the current administration to do the same. 3. The wasting of taxpayer dollars, open borders, etc is policy stuff. Like I said, fair game. focusing on things like autopen is just silly at this point. Common sense should tell you the party is in power anyway, not the person.

Stock Market bubble - will burst - it did, and recovered twice. ***Official thread***

So... it's a you problem. Gambling account is more or less on you to be a better stock picker. But it's recovered some, at least. -
Agreed, same way there were better things for dems to focus on during Bidens administration than how to "get Trump". The man was forced to drop out of the race and his VP got demolished. It's over. Shouldn't really be bringing him up unless it's to discuss specific policy changes

There was a split second as a kid where I liked tennis and thought Andre agassi was cool. Didn't last long. It was just too boring for me... and that's coming from a kid who could watch professional golf for hours . weird

Have you ever apologized to a GF from your past?
WhiteWonder replied to TheNewGirl's topic in The Geek Club
Yeah like I said I think he was genuinely remorseful. I just think it was reactionary to rejoining your company. Even if you never would have seen each other. im no internet sleuth but I could probably figure out your married name with google easily enough if I knew your first name, maiden name, location, etc. -

doesn't sound like part of a 12 step program or anything. also doesn't honestly sound like it was weighing on him. If either of those were true, I think he would have made an attempt to reach out prior to rejoining your company. I'm sure he was feeling genuine remorse but addressing it with you seems more like a product of working for the same employer again. Maybe he thought you'd be running into each other in some work capacity? Or just seeing you still worked there and access to your work e-mail etc made it easy to reach out. -

This was the obvious answer -
Season is about 1/3 over. As of right now I would say my team MVP is Corbin Carroll, although that feels like a cop-out so perhaps it is Junior Caminero. Biggest surprise Emilio Pagan. Snatching him up has really helped, especially with Jose Alvarado deciding to get busted. Chandler Simpson is/was also a nice surprise but now back in the minors. Biggest disappointment/bust is Blake Snell. A healthy Snell pitching for LAD should have been my top starter. Maybe Ryan Yarbrough will turn out to be something
