***2025 EdEx THE MASTERS*** A Tradition Unlike Any Other
WhiteWonder replied to BiffTannen's topic in The Geek Club
I was hoping Spaun of Satan could shoot something like freakin' Zach Johnson shot today and get me back in the hunt for 3rd. He started off okay but ... as per usual -
I took Shane over Hideki +100 boosted to +125. Hideki should be on fire right now. Still time

Not that I was a fan but he has a great track record at Augusta and he feels like the next Gary Player in terms of being an old guy in phenomenal shape. Gary Player is 89 and looks like a spry 70 year old. Doing leg kicks during the opening tee shots while Jack is struggling to tee up his ball. Langer is 67... but he strikes me as the same type. I would guess his ability to dominate the senior tour like he has is in large part due to the shape he is in, as most of those guys just let themselves go and were from the era before working out was part of golf. -

Also remember, payouts going forward are $40, $90, $190 ($40 x 8 per event $320)... this is what we used for the API that Cloaca skipped. -

The rough finishes by Zal and Morikawa sucked but at least I feel like they are each playing well enough. Glover…. You still want him Lags? -

BiffLager crushing it -
At this point I will assume you are trolling and not respond past this. Why are you talking about an optometrist when you said 17 posts by 17 different users and then proceeded to take the time to quote 90's baby three times, maxipad twice, beernuts twice to reach 17? ... it's as if you don't even read your own posts. Add in the fact that I already said comments like lack of tittays, look's man-ish or dude-ish / not feminine has nothing to do with her thighs and weight regulation. Optometrist, huh?
-
I simply disagreed with his assessment. I should have known better than to do that since he's one of those "smartest guy in the room" types.
-
I dont know man. Not sure where you're getting 17 posts by 17 users about her odd body shape or weight. Browsing through I see you, TNG, Jerry agreeing with you... guess we count the iowa corn fed comment? comments like she lacks big tittays, looks dudeish, or people prefer skinnier really have nothing to do with her lack of thigh gap and supposed weight regulation issues . It's a message board... we give our opinions. There are also guys in here saying shes hot or an 8/10. Clearly I don't think she is that, which you glossed over while suggesting I needed to read all the comments.
-
Actually, If you care to read my previous responses you’ll see I don’t think she’s hot, I just disagree with your reasoning because it’s flawed.
-
Thigh gap was trendy like a decade ago, so I understand why that’s still your mindset. even so I’m not at all seeing where her thighs are an issue in the SI photos. Im also not seeing where her weight is much different in basketball photos even though it’s going to be a totally different look in real life vs posed swimsuit mag. I think I saw 1 photo of her where she looked much thinner in a basketball uniform and it was a posed promo pic. Certainly not enough to tell how she “regulates her weight” but whatever you say pops

What does the BiffLager model show for power rankings of our teams? -
for my regular bets, I will have mostly top 20's... just looking specifically for one to add the 30% boost to. Top 20 on Reed boosted is +208, Top 10 on Reed boosted is +535 these are both including ties. Obviously the longer the odds, the better the boost is which is why I kind of want to use that on a top 10 wager and let my top 20's be regular.
-
I need a nice top X play to put a 30% boost on.... Henley top 10 is +290, Cam Smiff is +320, Reed and Straka are +410 all before the boost. Those are catching my eye. Or a safer top 20 on someone I like a lot like Spaun at +210.

Stock Market bubble - will burst - it did, and recovered twice. ***Official thread***

There are not all that many opportunities like this one to get into the market or add to your positions at gigantic discounts. We had one at the very start of Covid and prior to that, the great financial crisis in 08. Hope everyone is taking advantage -
The PGA didn't care when the biggest names it lost to LIV were Phil and Dustin. It really started to worry with the likes of Cam, Rahm, Brooks, Bryson and Niemann. Niemann is a rising star, for sure. Lot of people high on him this major season and he has played other events to try and earn world ranking points, similar to Reed and some others. I guess I just find it interesting that a lot of people are so high on him but write off the rest of the LIV group so easily. Mostly because I don't write them off. The older guys, sure.
-
Yes, agreed on putting, as I had mentioned. I don't view Morikawa as having a bad short game or still having putting issues. I wouldn't have drafted him if that were the case. I just view Cam as better in those areas was all I meant. And yes, Augusta being a second shot course with an emphasis on approach is why I personally targeted guys like Morikawa, Zalatoris and JJ Spaun in the edex draft. It's the reason why a common formula for picking a longer shot to bet on (not super long but lets say better than 35-1) is to find an elite ball striker who is at least passable off the tee and around the green and just needs to catch a hot week with the putter.... the Corey Conners theory if you will.
-
The same can be said of Morikawa (as far as accuracy and length off the tee) as Cam. Most people would consider Cam to have a superior short game and far superior putter. I prefer Bryson to Cam, if drafting for this event... because I think Bryson cares more. He is the top LIV guy, imo, when it comes to majors including big game Brooks and Niemann who I like but has not done much in majors but everyone is high on him. Still, I think driving distance is a little bit overblown at Augusta. You don't want to be short like Zach Johnson but saying Cam or Morikawa or whoever lacks distance ... when they average 290ish off the tee.. it's nit picking a bit. Someone like Aberg averages 307. I don't see it as a big hindrance. To me, Augusta is a second shot course more than anything else. You can put an 8 iron in the hands of an elite ball striker and thats just as good as Bryson having a wedge, imo. Next important thing to me is short game / pitching and chipping. Putting is another thing that I think gets too much emphasis at Augusta. I think the greens are so difficult that it takes a bit of the advantage away from the elite putters. I feel like we have seen a lot of average or below average putters win the Masters. Adam Scott comes to mind. Sergio for sure.
