    July Mock Analysis

Just a few more picks to go, and I will also try to identify my favorite / least favorite squads and picks. QB: Jayden Daniels, Kirk Cousins - It's not the Daniels/Tua combo I was hoping for but it is probably a bit more balanced in terms of safety and upside. I am happy with it. RB: Breece Hall, Alvin Kamara, Ezekiel Elliot, Ty Chandler - Very happy with the 1-2 punch, not thrilled they share a bye week. I do think Zeke will be serviceable this season. Would like more depth here but that's what happens when you go RB in round 1 and then shift your overall attention the receiver WR: Drake London, Michael Pittman, Malik Nabers, Jayden Reed, Jerry Judy - Pretty happy with this group overall. London gets a Qb upgrade, I think Pittman will be fed, Nabers was an upside play and has every reason to be a target monster in NY given the lack of other viable weapons around him. Reed is someone I have been high on and expect will lead the WR trio in Green Bay. I feel I got him at a slight discount compared to the June Mock. Jeudy is fine depth. TE: Evan Engram, Cole Kmet - Engram is someone I am warming up to as the process moves along, especially in PPR. I am pretty happy with him once Kelce/LaPorta/Andrews/McBride are off the board. Despite the arrivals of Allen and Odunze in chicago, I still believe Kmet will have a nice security blanket role. Pretty happy with the potential upside of this team with the following lineup Daniels Cousins ---------------- Hall Kamara Elliot Chandler ---------------- London Pittman Nabers Jeudy Shakir ---------------- Reed (flx) --------------- Engram Kmet ---------------- ----------------

    Hey Rusty!

Your sad old man logic never ceases to amaze. Thinks making a few posts on a Saturday night means I “aint got nobody”, while he also posts on a Saturday night because his fugly wife can’t stand him

    ATTN: Gobbledog

i know you asked for gobble but I like Hill. I mean I have him rostered in a dynasty so it's a little different. Also have Estime on that same team and should have added Mason because I had a feeling Mitchell was going to be out for the year. I don't think Bigsby does much until an Etienne injury. Same with Allen and the Jets but if both Hall and Etienne went down i'd rather have Allen. Dylan Laube... why do we think he is next man up over Mattison? Abdullah? and i'll be honest I knew nothing of Rasheen Ali and had no indication he was the back to own behind Henry. I added Hill weeks ago.

    Chiefs WR's

I think you may see Likely act more as a big bodied WR2 than a pass catching TE role. Andrews owners will likely feel they overpaid by the end of the season but I don't expect him to vanish an become a blocking TE. Ravens best offense has Flowers, Andrews and Likely

    Chiefs WR's

i think it's way more than that, unless this was sarcasm. Remember when the raiders would just draft the fastest player? never worked for them. And honestly it hasn't worked for KC recently. Week 1 overreaction just a tad because Worthy had 2 TDs. And i'm not saying he won't be a really good player because he's already better than the guys i'm about to name but.... Mecole Hardman, Skyy Moore. I know Worthy was the fastest ever but Hardman ran a 4.33 and Moore was supposed to be a fast player as well. Even Toney was a speed guy who they traded for all in an attempt to replace Tyreek. again nothing against worthy because I do think he will be the one that works out but take away his 2 scores (one on blown coverage) and his game was fairly average

    ***Wagering thread***

I’m on fire right now. Can’t last not making a lot of bets but… Jayden Reed anytime TD boosted Pacheco anytime TD (no sweat) Mahomes+Jackson over 450 combined passing was +120 on FD 3 leg parlay Henry anytime TD, Pacheco anytime TD, AJ Brown anytime TD lost a no sweat SGP last night because Christian Watson couldn’t go over 38 yards. Should have used Reed instead. But have a $10 bonus bet at least from it downhill from here!

    Taysom Hill controversy

First off, why the hell did CBS have Hill listed as a QB? Hasn't he been listed as a TE on most platforms for a few years now? I use ESPN, Yahoo, Sleeper and MFL. All TE designations. Interesting.... As for the situation, all depends how cutthroat your league wants to be. I would agree that this owner either A. drafted him thinking he was a TE or B. Knew he was a QB and thought he could flex a QB. Option A seems more likely because if you could flex a QB, there are about 30 other QBs I would flex before Hill. Were you drafting in person? or using an online CBS draft where the owner would clearly see Hill's designation? I think that is important info because if you were drafting live, with any form of draft board that didn't say Taysom Hill, QB, New Orleans.... then I really can't fault him for not knowing CBS's odd designation. One of my league drafts in person using some 3rd party draft board with stickers. So if we used CBS as our platform, whoever drafted Taysom Hill would have been using a draft sticker that said Tight End on it. ^ if any of the above applied to your draft , I would return Hill to him. If you were drafting using CBS software, where it clearly showed Hill as a QB at the time of the draft, then I would leave things as is.

    Keep your Bible to yourself

Correct, you offered the testimony of witnesses as proof and I asked how anyone can validate these testimonies? What is to keep someone from BSing such a testimony … and since it strengthens the case for Christianity, it must be accurate you then go on to quote a bunch of stuff about historians and Jesus I don’t think anyone disputes Jesus was a person but again, I didn’t enter this thread to argue specific religions. Im lamenting the overall concept that people often tend to push their specific religion onto others and act as if there is no other alternative. Youre helping prove that point

    STEM vs STEAM

He said something that is correct and acceptable but not sure it applies to the topic. isn’t stem just a push to focus on science tech engineering and math because they share many of the same principles? Does it mean we forget about economics, arts, social sciences, etc? Idk I’m not an educator I never thought so but it doesn’t surprise me that those who want to force “ inclusion” where it’s not even needed would be trying to do so.

    Keep your Bible to yourself

ah, one of those "mine is the only way" people. Because naturally you can lead me to water (your religion) by using nothing but pure logic and fact... but then I just need the faith to drink (believe). Question. Since only Christianity presents witnesses who testify of the One God making Himself human and entering creation, what proof is there of the accuracy of the account... without citing the bible? I believe there are some mentions in non biblical texts but nothing that would come close to being definitive proof. Not that one needs definitive proof to have faith, but you're stating it as such.... which further speaks to my point.

    ****Happy Football Day Week 1****

The notion that the Ravens keep surrounding Lamar Jackson with smurfs is completely wrong. For a number of reasons. One of which being that height at the WR position is not the be all, end all it used to be. No one cared that Tyreek Hill was 5'10 when he was lighting it up with Mahomes, for example. Garrett Wilson and JaMarr Chase are merely 6 feet. The Ravens have Mark Andrews, Isaiah Likely who I believe you will see function more as a receiver this year and anyone who has him rostered in fantasy may have struck TE gold, and Bateman. Zay Flowers is 5'9 but he can be a stud. Put him on KC last year and they have no need to draft Worthy in 2024. If anything, you can blame the Ravens for not being able to identify better talent at WR.... but it's not about their height. That said, The first 2 endzone throws at the end of the game last night show exactly why Lamar is an overrated QB. He is not elite. He is an elite athlete, not passer. Even when their line looked better last season, he runs too much. He lacks a lot of touch on his throws, especially deep balls. What he does on the field is often electric (and often with his legs) and it's great for viewers and FF but I sincerely doubt he wins a Super Bowl unless he takes a step forward as a passer.

    Keep your Bible to yourself

there is a difference between sharing / spreading the word and pushing your beliefs onto others. I respect people who make an effort to know if you are open to or interested in hearing something about their particular faith, and want to talk WITH you, rather than talk AT you. It especially rubs me the wrong way when people act as if their religion is the one true religion, nothing else could be correct, and you are wrong for not sharing their beliefs. there are so many religions in the world, it makes it kind of comical to act as if yours is the only way. Especially when you consider that a majority of people grow up with the faith they simply learned as a child without ever actually comparing religions and choosing for themselves.

    Draft Report Card F

even with no IR spot, I think you should be strongly considering picking him up since he is expected back around week 7. you listed 11 players before. Taysom would be 12. kicker and DST is 14... I assume your rosters are around 16? must be someone you can drop for Hock.

    Draft Report Card F

i mean its tough to get Bijan, Adams and Olave in a 12 team format. So based on that alone, it's hard for me to buy an F grade on your team. I have Daniels as my first QB drafted in all my leagues (usually paired with a Lawrence, Goff, Cousins type) so your duo is hypothetically better.... Walker must have been your 4th rounder and mcLaurin was the reach in the 5th? Meh. My guess is the F draft rating is based almost entirely on Taysom Hill being your starting TE

hmm. a friend that I travel with had hinted that he and his brother were considering a trip to either ireland or scotland in 2025. meaning I am invited to join. I'll have to feel them out on which place they are leaning toward and what time of year, maybe i'll suggest going to the Open for a day to sway them toward Ireland in July

    Draft Report Card F

as much as it pains me to say it, entering your draft results into FBG's rate my team tool is so much better than anything ESPN or Yahoo spits out. At least there is an explanation, position by position... even if you disagree with their outlooks on players. At the very least it's a fun read. ESPN for example gives you a letter grade and more or less no explanation. And their power rankings is nothing more than the season long projected total of your current starting lineup. I suppose that's probably the best thing they can go by but its very fluid. My final draft of the year was graded C by ESPN, projected 8th post draft in power rankings (adjusted to 10th when we fixed one minor kicker scoring setting) .... the same roster loaded into FBG's graded as A-

    ***2025 EdEx Winter Meetings***

in our 10 events this past season I had a 1st, 2nd and 3rd. did not sniff the top 3 of the edex. Which is probably correct. Consistency should count for something. I think that was $225, $150, $50

    ***2025 EdEx Winter Meetings***

in but obviously I have to give my 5 cents I like that we will be paying 3rd for the edex cup. My only question is, how much did 1st place get for each individual event this year? Is raising that to $300 enough of a boost based on the entry fee increase? Only questioning that because sometimes it feels like winning 2 tournaments should cover your entry fee for the year (in this case $750) but you'd only be getting $600 for 2 wins. Maybe that is good, maybe you should need more than 2 wins.... im just spitballing.

Are you getting Trump text messages?

There is absolutely no way those are not from the democratic party or at least a group of anti Trump. You're definitely smart enough to know that.
