Keegan Bradley named 2025 Ryder Cup Captain
WhiteWonder replied to bostonlager's topic in The Geek Club
I thought it was an odd selection but as far as his personality, he's no more boring than Zach Johnson. It is weird to me that he was fighting to be on, and probably should have been on the last Ryder team (if not for JT being buddy buddy with ZJ) and now he is a captain 2 years later? And I guess Tigger turned it down. I think this was 100% Mickelson's turn to be captain at Bethpage, if not for everything that went down. They will take a player as a captains pick but no way they would ever use a captain who "defected". -

sounds like an awesome trip you have planned. My mom, aunt and brother went last year but it was a full on tour trip. I declined because they did spend time in St Andrews but I felt like when I do decide to go, I want the option to stay a bit longer in that area and try to get a tee time (I think when I looked it up it's sort of a be there early, get lucky etc). I used to collect golf balls as a kid. too clunky so at some point I switched to the chips. I think Fumble sent me one from Southern Hills PGA Championship 2022 and I sent him back a Shinnecock US Open from 2018 -

always a lot of teams out there giving reports about which QB is ahead or if they are tied . it's all beat writer and talking head speculation at this point.
-
Carr was on a new team last year. Really depends on if you think a second season of familiarity with his weapons will help. I think a full season of Juwan Johnson will help but he’s already dealing with an injury. Even so, I like Carr as a solid QB3 Love getting Minshew as depth in a super flex. Levis would be interesting with Henry gone and Ridley in town.

Keeping Jacobs leaves you in the same scenario except two of your bench players can cost $2. Not a big difference. plus, if you’re not keeping Goff at $4 I’d be looking for a $2 QB with a $1 backup QB.

If Kamala Harris wins in November, what will be the conservative narrative?
WhiteWonder replied to squistion's topic in The Geek Club
pretty much. I am sure there will be election fraud narratives, despite the fact that it's probably still a coin flip at this point and Trump really hasn't done himself many favors lately. His best chance to win is to keep fairly quiet and let Biden continue to choke away the game. If Biden does win, then I agree with everything you have posted. It will be a big statement about the state of the country and how easily duped so many voters are. We didn't live in a dictatorship from 2016-2020, but now we will? Joe Biden is mentally very sharp, he just needs more sleep and less travel. -
Grace Charis - I guess she can golf? Needs her own thread.
WhiteWonder replied to edjr's topic in The Geek Club
vid confirms a few things she is mainly an OF girl capitalizing on the current male golf craze. Again, good for her. If I was an attractive girl, I'd do the same thing. The more clothes she has on the more average she looks. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am semi surprised she is an 8. Assuming she really counted all her most recent scores and not just the most recent scores she sorta liked and kept the cards for. I will admit I am impressed with that. -

are you reviving the closet? I don't see my level of activity here stopping. I have the summer mock drafts, our geek balls league, possibly that new league you cooked up, fantasy baseball and I was going to attempt to be a little more active on the main bored this season. maybe Mike can clean up some of the clearly inactive geek league forums and give us a dedicated Edex/golf forum? regardless, just let me know where I have to be for this come January... or for the PNC or whatever garbage filler events we cook up between now and then. -
a thread we all knew couldn't keep horsenuts away

If he can trade, its certainly a good idea. trading for Zack Moss and only $10 extra would not be a great idea. Maybe Moss and $25 extra at the least.
-
Dobbins is the better gamble over Edwards imho.
-
that is extremely weird. I figured since the week prior to the break was a full monday through sunday of games, week 16 would kick off after the break and be longer. hmmm okay, well, draft order set.
-
I will add that in today's NFL, it is of course reasonable to expect a rookie RB with some promise to eat into the incumbent's touches a bit. But it's interesting to me that Williams is all of the sudden being viewed almost as a DND in round 3 because of the draft capital used on Corum (rd 3).... the Jets drafted Braelon Allen in round 4. Is Breece Hall now not an every down back? Avoid at his adp? Curious where we draw the draft capital line.
-
Im not super high on Williams but all these posts about full blown RBBC and Kyren isn't a workhorse or every down back are pretty laughable. Where is the evidence that Williams and Corum are in a true RBBC? Not saying it cant happen, but where are we pulling this news from? And I see Gobble has already taken care of dispelling the notion that Williams isn't an every down back... it's as if some of you don't watch football.
-
One final thing to consider. If CMC were to be released back into the draft pool, how much do you think he would go for? $31 looks like his going rate for 12 team PPR with $100 budget. He's costing you $37. Is there a chance you could release him and redraft him at $34? It's risky for sure but that savings could go a long way in helping you build your depth
-
I think it's a no brainer to keep London and let Jacobs go. if it's start 2RB, 3WR and no flex, I think you can find an RB3 or even go for two RB4 types with upside. You'll have $12 to spend after allocating $2 to kicker and defense. With how many QBs are fantasy viable, I have to believe you can land a starter for $3 and not even spend $1 on a backup, just add one after the draft. That leaves you $9 for a starting TE, backup RB, backup WR and any other depth you feel you need to get via the draft rather than free agency. Again I have no idea what players will be kept in your league and I am admittedly looking at redraft auction values but cheap options I like at each position include... QB - Cousins/Goff/Baker/Tua ... Carr/Minshew undrafted RB - Dowdle/Kendre Miller .... Tyrone Tracy and Elijah Mitchell since you own CMC and Singletary. I left out any backs I think would go for $5 or more but of course there is the option of bringing Edwards back or Javonte Williams, jerome ford, zack moss etc.... WR - Hollywood/Sutton..... Cooks/Josh Palmer/Jermaine Burton/ TE - This is where you're really going to be hurting unless you league spends far less than current auction values. I think you have to target the likes of Friermuth/Juwan Johnson/Hunter Henry

At this point I’d be shocked if he is aware of anything tbh. And I’m not just picking low hanging fruit. Guy seems like the last thing in his mind is if he even has twitter -

Wanna bet? First off it’s not an intern in either case. Social media is too important in today’s politics for it not to be a full on social media team. So your dismissive “an intern forgot” is silly. Second, whoever is in charge of the presidents twitter is indeed writing the policy based posts. They are being told what to write, but making the posts nonetheless -

and yet if "he" tweeted or showed something good or in that you could use to prove a positive point about him on his page, you'd be praising him, not the intern. -

I never had any inclination to serve since I grew up in an affluent neighborhood where 98% of my graduating class went on to college. I have always had the utmost respect for our service men and women and am very grateful for all that they do, even if not involved directly in combat. My grandfathers both served. I don't think being well educated and choosing to go to college right off the bat means someone has less class than someone who chose to, or had no other option than to go the military route. I don't like to generalize those who go into service right out of school but there are statistics to back up many of them having it be their best option more so than a choice.... Just saying, not insinuating that they are "knuckleheads" or not amazing, standup men and women. and while I understand the "their service keeps our freedom so you can attend college and have a better life!", on a case by case basis., it really doesn't. -
People on either side should know that this is often the case (someone else really running the country)
